2021 College football thread - Auburn’s gotta Auburn. (3 Viewers)

It's about time ND played a real schedule.  :pokey:    :stirspot: ;)
Sad part is ND now plays 5 ACC games a year contractually. If ND joined the ACC it'd get people off their back about playing in a conference, but it'd make the schedule weaker to play all games in the ACC

Rumors of Arch Manning to OU.   Lebby impressed the Manning's.  💣

Isn't Lebby the guy who was an ardent supporter of Art Briles?  Sold Tshirts and whatnot to support the coach who was in charge of a program that committed 56 rapes at Baylor?   Want to make sure I have the same Lebby here.....

Kelly's staff is turning out to be a dud. One big complaint many ND fans used to make about him is he's a "get your buddy a job" kinda guy. Some say familiarity is a good thing, but the past few years ND fired his buddies and installed people outside of his comfort zone and then ND is back to winning 10+ games a year.

Kerry Cooks was a failed experiment of that tree at ND. He's now back and at the expense of one of the top assistant coaches and recruiters in the country. Other than maybe Jeff Quinn (OL coach) post ND's bowl, it's unlikely any of the coaches from last year's ND staff follows Kelly.

To me it speaks volumes that those guys decided to stay with a 35 year old first-time head coach instead of following Kelly to LSU (in most cases for more money). Mike Elston is the biggest surprise there. He's been with Kelly since Central Michigan and decided to not make the move.

Very surprising…no one’s more LSU than him and he’s highly thought of.
He's a great recruiter.  LSU brought Frank Wilson back and gave him the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator titles that Corey wanted.  I don't blame him, and really wish LSU could have worked it out and kept both, but give me Wilson all day over Corey.

Polian?

We get it.  Kelley is terrible, nobody likes him, ND didn't want him, etc etc.  Awful lot of butthurt for a guy who sucks so bad.  Maybe it's time to count your blessings and move on?

Polian is an interesting one for sure, especially with respect to recruiting. That guy was the pipeline to Hawaii for ND and is where guys like Manti Te’o came from. I think he kills it for LSU in that respect.

Yes, that is him. He is married to Art’s daughter.

I only know what you can find out by googling him, so I guess I would assume that the schools that have hired him since have vetted him properly, including OU.

His allegations of sexual misconduct?
To be fair, rumors of Boren's homosexual misconduct have been around since he was a US senator.

I would venture to say Boren had been misbehaving for decades and finally the acceptance of it ended due to social changes (Cosby, and others).

Young something like -3000 to win. Found a Bama/Saban hater that was willing to take the field even money. Don't ask me why.

Well done.  Weak year overall but I know everyone is excited about the possibility of a Bama QB winning for the first time.

Top three should have been Aidan Hutchinson, Jordan Davis, and Will Anderson in some order.
Agree with 2/3 (no Davis)...but you can't deny Bryce Young...he's been spectacular this year behind a lesser OL and conservative play-calling that's put him in bad spots.
