I was very wrong on Carson. He's done.

we won’t be Saturday 4 pm.  I’m not sure which slots are considered the biggest now.  In the old days I would say Eagles vs Tom Brady would definitely be either Saturday night or Sunday 4 pm.  I don’t think that there will be too many more desirable games for the networks considering market size and marquee names.

Steelers-kc is good, but feels like Sunday 1:00.  Dallas-LA would definitely be a big one.  After that, I don’t know that any other matchups draw as much water.

I’ll hold off on my assessment of him until after the season but love or hate him he 100% bounced back. Obviously he’s not flawless but he has righted a lot of wrongs and once again have us in a good position. 

I always go back to that Lurie presser when he said he told Howie to keep the band together and how that was going to change. I think we see that. Is he the best GM there is? No. But he deserves to be in the conversation for executive of the year for what he’s done.

True but is his "hit rate" on draft picks really that much worse than other GMs?  He's had some good picks lately, right?  The OL is one of the best in the league.  Wasn't that built by Howie?

Ward isn’t anything really at all and Agholor is still playing I think. I can’t imagine that JJAW has many more years left at this level and I’d say the same about Reagor if he were a 3rd round pick. He played so much faster in college and looks ordinary at this level. Quez was a speed guy in college and it’s translated.

Reagor is a perfect example of a guy who produces better at the college level then he will on the pro level unless he's in the absolute right situation.

And I don’t know about everyone else but Hurts gives me a way better feel in clutch moments than Wentz. Wentz seemed to buckle but Hurts seems to thrive. I don’t have any stats to support this but it’s just the way I feel

Looks he did tear it.  That sucks, had hopes he would develop into a weapon.

Shortly before he got hurt someone asked if Schultz or Goedart would be the better Fantasy TE and I said Jackson could be a sneaky play. This sucks though because I was really excited to see him once Ertz was traded in Camp and then he got hurt. Was excited when he got off IR and was disappointed he hadn't gotten involved more yet. The good news is if he heals properly and it's more of a minor tear 9 months puts us at an Mid OCT comeback for him.

It's true man. Hurts doesn't mind the pressure.   He may still screw it up, but it's just another play for him.

Yep and he’s proven that time and time again. Doesn’t matter how much money a Byron Maxwell and Demarcus Murray get. They suck, they’re gone. That’s a great quality IMO. It’s one thing to make a mistake and another to double down.

2. I’m beginning to lean more toward drafting another WR unless the FA one is cheap. Looking back over the last few years the amount of money combined with the low production doesn’t add up. Also, if this is the offense we’re going to stick with I think we’d have enough with Smith, Watkins and Goedert. 

We need an X WR badly. Mike Williams would be great but I fear he might cost too much but honestly might be worth it. Allen Robinson fits the mold too but he's older. There's always Gallup but we've had issues with former DAL players in the past. I'm not reaching for a WR in the draft but I think they gotta at least give a lot of thought it one really good one who fits falls into their lap when they do pick.

I was at work and it's always hard to gauge on twitter. The Usual people who never liked the guy and will always blame him were out in force. These people are so bad they were also bullying the kid Giovani on twitter today which just always PO's me. Is your hatred for an athlete you never met so bad you have to go after a kid with a disability rooting for his favorite player no matter what team he plays for? Just shows someones true colors

Either way back to the actual posts it's hard to gauge. I was at work so I had to follow on twitter. Most of the talk was on Wentz but when you lose to a team this bad blame has to go to the coaching staff as well. Saw the Stat sheet and it looks like their KR gave JAX a gift as well as their RB Hines. Looked like the team just didn't show up in general either. 

Yes it's always easier to blame the QB and he's not protected in this situation but just a quick look at the stat sheet and seeing some other comments the whole team choked today.

The key, imo, with a player like (basically Kirk Cousins) is that they get way overpaid. You can win with them...but not when they are making 30 mil a year and taking such a huge part of the cap. If they're making 15 mil, and you can invest that in a few other key players? Different story.

I agree with this. However people will talk about it because it sells the ratings and people love hot takes. Also if they are right it feeds these clowns egos. 

I had a very interesting twitter conversation about Roseman from a completely different tweet from someone we all commented on that led to a full fledge conversation of Howie Roseman and how fans and media perceive him compared to those in the NFL. One of the guys has a few sources himself in the Eagles ORG and talking to him through DM's I think one of those sources might be the same person ironically. 

Anyway the conversation between the 3 of us (which is still going) is pretty interesting. We kind of broke down Howie's moves over the years and where he's gone right and wrong. Conclusion is he's not as bad as the media makes him out to be. Basically Howie missed on a lot of big names yes and thats what he'll be known for. However noone talks about the multiple starters we have on the team through our drafts that are solid guys, how he maneuvered Wentz and a 4th and got 3 1st this year and that whole sequence still may not be complete yet, consistent playoff runs etc. 

This isn't saying Howie is a world beater best GM ever but when you dig deep enough into it you realize there's a lot of hot takes by the media and stories that just aren't true about where Howie ranks as a GM in the NFL. Look at the whole picture and not just certain moves and I think most would agree there's a lot of fans of opposing teams out there who'd love to have a GM like Roseman as their guy instead all the GM's they've had and lack of success their teams have had. The media will drive certain perspectives to sell ratings. 

This isn't saying the the Colts shouldn't cut bait on Wentz if he continues to play like he did today but the fact driving a story like the one linked just shows a false narrative and how there's people who work as journalists covering certain sports who have ZERO Football IQ knowledge of how the business works. Anyone can write an article and start their own blog today and have a chance of being right

If I remember talking to Indy fans and reading stuff from their media guys beginning of the year or all of last offseason the OL was a huge question mark and issue going into the year. Indy did nothing to plug the holes either or upgrade the line which Is never good especially when you just traded for a guy like Wentz. I believe their top OL guy was still coming back from either a season ending injury from the year before or had offseason surgery and was on IR to begin the year. Their other best guy ended up getting hurt in mini camp or Training camp can't remember exactly. But it was a huge issue from day one. 

Reich was blamed for the Baltimore loss and a few others. The knock was he got too conservative with play calls and wasn't as aggressive as he had been in the past.

A few facts from my twitter convo with 2 guys over the last few days. We did a Howie ROseman Deep dive This is just a fraction where we were at. There's more detailed moves 

From 1999-2007, an era we fans look back on in fondness and rightfully so, the eagles added 11 pro bowl players in 9 years. In 14 years with roseman in a premier personnel position, we've added TWENTY FOUR that have gone to that pro bowl game with an eagles helmet.

2016 draft produced 4 NFL starters 2017 draft produced 3 NFL starters (this is largely seen as a very weak draft) 2018 draft produced 4 NFL starters (in 5 picks) 2019 draft produced 1 NFL starter (though Dillard would be starter.

Any team would be happy to have 12 NFL starting caliber players from a 4 year draft period. The fact that, of the 12 starting caliber players 5 are doing so for other teams speaks to factors after the draft as opposed to the talent level foreseen at the time of the draft being an issue do to coaching or scheme fit.
