too much :(The Noid said:Fletch is back. 1 year deal, $14MM, plus incentives.
But wasn't that kind of a moot point? (Meaning, they lost that releasing him so it didnt matter?)

Right, they could have cut him loose and would have paid him that amount anyway. All this maneuver did was help improve the long term cap situation a bit (that they put themselves in with his most recent extension) and he probably only agreed to do them that favor because he's coming out even.too much :(

Felt we kinda went Jerry Jones so far at it. Found a nice hometown discount, and by all accounts, it seems to me Reddick should have got a bigger bag. Considering how many picks we have, seems like we really want to nail this (duh) one this year. And the needs we have match up with strength of this draft (if you don't count QB a need mixed in with this underwhelming class, allegedly) we should be able to land a really good DB, WR, DL prospect or two and just keeping on building through the draft. I wouldn't want Woods if he was forced to come here just so he can leave asap. Was thinking about this today and it’s either incredibly smart or stupid. We went and got a big need but after that I didn’t see a deal or trade that I was thinking we had to make. I said I’d do the Watson deal but I get why they didn’t. I wanted Woods but reports were that they let him seek where he wanted to go so that’s out as well. The FA’s that are signed now can still really help us as well and are the ones that can make big differences for a fraction of the cost.
We always want to nail the draft but this year's is the most important one in a long time. It has the potential to set us up for the next decade of we nail the first round picks at least. 3 cheap star players for 4-5 years will make a huge difference going forward.Felt we kinda went Jerry Jones so far at it. Wideouts don’t want to sign here because of our offense, and QBs don’t want to come here because of Hurts. Not ideal.
Don’t look at PFF grades then lolWe got Zach Pascal. Like this signing.
Not sure how much of an impact this has. Sirianni loves him and his blocking is what stood out at Indy. So, he's JJAW, but can catch. We got Zach Pascal. Like this signing.
I hear ya. Think he will be a solid slot guy. Was improving every year of his career and then Gingervectin showed up and his numbers regressed. Just allows us to kind of do to Reagor what we did to Jjaw, probably draft 2 WRs (yeah!) and cut Jjaw when roster cuts go down. Not sure how much of an impact this has. Not the biggest "grades" guy. Not the same, but I remember for the longest time, the best "QBR" game ever was like a 186 yard/2 pick game 7 years back by Charlie Batch. I'm sure there is a better QBR record since then, but you get my point.Don’t look at PFF grades then lol
Holup!
We didn't have a deep WR group which forced us to run more in 2021. Now WR's don't want to come here because we are a running team?
Personally, people are being way to kind to Hurts. If Hurts truly was the answer. WR's would want to come here.
I don’t treat them like the end all be all but when you’re 94th out of 94 WR’s that’s saying something lolNot the biggest "grades" guy. Real stats show he had 2 years better than Reagor could ever hope for and with coaching familiarity and his ability to progress WRs (check Quez Watkins), I'm happy with it.
I was thinking about that earlier. If Brady would have stayed retired I think Hurts is top 5.Another decent QB has left the NFC. Hurts is definitely above the average NFC qb right now.
He was an UFDA so I don't think he has a high ceiling truly, but I think there are more than 94 WR's in the league at the same time. Reagor and Jjaw don't even get graded they are so bad. Its a roster improvement without sacrificing any draft capital or really much cap space. If Nick didn't already coach him though, doubt we reach out.I don’t treat them like the end all be all but when you’re 94th out of 94 WR’s that’s saying something lol
And also, for what its worth - the same grading company (PFF) that had Pascal as 94/94th WR last year, ALSO had Jjaw ranked as the 3rd best WR coming into the 2019 draft. He was an UFDA so I don't think he has a high ceiling truly, but I think there are more than 94 WR's in the league at the same time. I know this is petty, but I kind of want Matt Ryan to take the Colts to the Super Bowl with basically the same roster as last year.
I like it too. Pascal is a baller. We got Zach Pascal. Like this signing.
Could use O-line help too.I'm guessing we are drafting cb, de, wr with out first 3 picks. In some order
Get it later. If there is one thing we do well it's develop oline.Could use O-line help too.
Pretty much what I have going on in my brain too. If Howie literally is patient and sits backs and takes all 3 picks at their spot, I will be surprised though.I'm guessing we are drafting cb, de, wr with out first 3 picks. In some order
How we use those 3 picks will be a huge indicator of what they really think of Hurts vs. what they say about him.I'm guessing we are drafting cb, de, wr with out first 3 picks. In some order

They stay put and use them all on CB, DE, WR (all positions of immediate need), then they are building around Hurts. It's in the short-term, at the very least, but still a sign they think he can be the answer longer-term.
They use one, trade back with one, trade one for future picks, then they are looking to acquire more assets and push their "building" into when they may have a more set-in-stone answer at QB.
This tweet from @Sigmund Bloom seems to be something would should at least 'kick the tires' onYeah at this point I think it's more likely they trade one of them away for future picks.
I still expect them to trade one of those 1sts for picks next year.I'm guessing we are drafting cb, de, wr with out first 3 picks. In some order
Yes - but also financially, 3 first rounders are cap prohibitive to all give 5th year options to at the same time. Now granted, very high likelihood at least one of them would not pan out, but still. Financially its probably easier to have 2 this year, 2 next year. How we use those 3 picks will be a huge indicator of what they really think of Hurts vs. what they say about him.

Seems like most teams view draft picks, especially 1st's, as lottery tickets. Whether you take 3 shots this year and 1 next, or 2 this year, and 2 next, might have a lot more to do with the evaluation of talent you have done on the draft classes (e.g. if you think there's a really weak class of key positions this year, versus a strong one next year, or if the goal is to build a package of assets for the QBs that might be available via draft or trade next year) than the potential financials down the road.Yes - but also financially, 3 first rounders are cap prohibitive to all give 5th year options to at the same time. That's a logical way to view it. I don't think the Eagles put as much on the talent as you think. I think they view the financials/cap ramifications as equal to the potential talent.Seems like most teams view draft picks, especially 1st's, as lottery tickets. In the Eagles' case, having 3 "winning" lottery tickets pay off is a good problem to have and something to figure out 4 years from now (after 4 more years of cap increases, most likely), if it were to happen at all. If you think there's talent and potential long-term performers for your team, take them!
I dont know....if Pickett is there somehow, I wouldn't be unhappy with taking him. Don't wanna ay to move up, but........;.....This tweet from @Sigmund Bloom seems to be something would should at least 'kick the tires' on

Howie Roseman should put every team that shows interest in Kenny Pickett or Malik Willis on notice that #15 is up for sale (assuming they are there). With #16 and #19, the Eagles don't even lose their #1 target if they trade down. Could easily net a 23 1st + 22 2nd day pick + ?

And he has tiny hands. And he will be 24 years old at the start of the season. No thanks big time. Kudos to Howie making it look legit if someone wants to play around at 15/16.i dunno. One year flash in the pan starters who never really played in any big games or against good competition scare me.

Theyre only trading out of a QB someone values falls. That’s typically what position generates a future 1 that high up in the draft. This will be the main reason they trade out of one.
People tend to have revisionist history when it comes to QB’s anyway. This one looks like it sucks but there will be a good/great one or two.yeah said it before but this qb class sucks big time
This is true too! Watson and Mahomes were not drafted in the top 5, while a bunch of mixed busts have been over the past decade. And it won't change either. Teams are always desperate at the position and coaches think their systems work.People tend to have revisionist history when it comes to QB’s anyway. Than you have great classes that produce Goff and Wentz at the top.
Or you have great classes like 2018 where the “bad developmental QB’s” end up being the best ones.
Point being, the whole “this class sucks or is great” is complete BS. The people saying it are the same as us.

There’s been 3 consistently mocked in the first round (Pickett, Willis and Corral) and you have Howell, Ridder and Strong being mentioned as possible second round picks. I’d have to look for reference but that doesn’t feel weak to me.well you have to go with what you think you know. And it does not look good at all.
trying to recall a weaker looking draft for qbs
