2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (2 Viewers)

"He’s feeling great.
If he’s ready to go, he will play”
-Eagles OC Shane Steichen on Jalen Hurts and says Eagles have a plan for both QBs

Foles the new starting QB for the Colts.

Hurts having an MVP season.

Wentz is uhhh ...
Wentz might be starting soon if Heinicke continues to show he's turned into a pumpkin.
maybe. They might be just as likely to start Howell tho, I think once they didn't give Wentz the job back right away, he's done there.
Do you think he will accept a role as a backup moving forward or would he just retire? I mean if you ain't beating Taylor Heinicke out, you are not going to be given a real shot IMO against an incoming rookie on a team like say, Atlanta?

Good question. Seems like a guy who might just want to take his money and go live a nice church going life with his family.

To all the Hurts owners, maybe this can be a good thing.

- His lowest fantasy points of the year was vs Dallas
- Dallas top 10 in lowest fantasy points allowed to QBs
- If he played he for SURE would be running a lot less which is a huge chunk of his fantasy points
- Game doesn't mean a LOT, so if it's even remotely out of hand for either team, he would likely be pulled early.
- Better chance of Philly losing without Hurts, meaning next week would be very meaningful and he may go full-go for fantasy championship week

Tim McManus on NFL Live reported that Gardner Menshew had a great day of Practice. TE Dallas Goadert said he doesn't remember one ball hitting the ground. Noted one play in particular there was a pressure on Menshew and he rolled to his weak side and threw a dime off his Blackfoot to one of the TE's. McManus also said how Menshew should be salvaging as he's set up well with one of the top Lines, great skill players and and team around him.

8 Eagles made the Pro Bowl:

Jalen Hurts
Jason Kelce
A.J. Brown
Lane Johnson
Darius Slay
Miles Sanders
Landon Dickerson
Haason Reddick
And 9 alternates:

Rick Lovato, Isaac Seumalo, Javon Hargrove, James Bradberry, Brandon Graham, Fletcher Cox, Jordan Mailata, Josh Sweat DeVonta Smith.

So the entire OLine made it, in some form.
Probably would have had 2 more (Dallas Goedert and Chauncey Gardner-Johnson) if not for the stupid rule that going in IR made them no longer eligible.

Depends on who its for. I could see him trying to find a starting job first and then go from there. WAS as an ORG is a mess though. I love Ron Rivera but they need to clean house from ownership to the coaching staff. He's best going to a team with a good offensive line and coaching staff. Maybe if DET goes without Goff he could go there. Tenn would do well if they could get Wentz back in form because I think Willis the next few weeks will show he has no business being in this league or Dark Hoarse RAMs. Maybe TB takes a chance gets out from Brady unless they see Trask as the starter, Baltimore would be good for him IMHO though. Another team could be the Jets depending what they do with Wilson and White. So he has some options.

He doesn't have any options to come in and be the guy without a competition tho. He might have a shot to come in and try to win a job. I'm not sure he has the mental desire or makeup to do so - he certainly didn't here, but maybe realization has set in that if he wants a NFL career thats what he has to do.

Bradberry and CJGJ should be on that list.

EDIT: saw @The Noid posts after already posted. Bradberry is an alternate and CJGJ is ineligible. Goedert, too, and he should be a lock.

Is anyone else surprised at Dickerson? I feel like he's been good especially as a run blocker but Pro Bowl level?
LOVE him. He's a top 5 interior offensive lineman IMO (biased some sure). He makes a few mental errors here and there still, but man with him next to Mailata, that is basically a wall on the left side for the next 6-10 years. This dude is VERY strong. Great personality too!

Executive of the Year

Howie Roseman
Philadelphia Eagles
It’s not just that Roseman -- who received 13.5 votes -- has built the team with the NFL’s best record at 13-1. It’s the fact that he did it five years after a very different Eagles team won Super Bowl LII, while also setting up Philadelphia to keep adding beyond this season. They own the Saints’ first-round pick in the 2023 draft, which is slotted ninth overall entering Week 16.

“He’s just been really aggressive the way he’s built the roster,” said a rival GM. “Trade back, trade forward. Hired a coach no one really knew much about who took some lumps in the first year. And he’s just really turned over the roster. Took Hurts, wasn’t popular, second-round pick -- now he’s an MVP candidate. Finally got the receivers right -- they missed on (Justin) Jefferson (to take Jalen Reagor in the 2020 draft), they kept attacking it, took [DeVonta Smith] and made an aggressive trade (for A.J. Brown). The O-line solidified. And now the defense that struggled last year is No. 2.”

Roseman also acquired C.J. Gardner-Johnson from the Saints for pocket change in a separate trade and swiftly addressed issues with the run defense by signing veteran defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and Linval Joseph.

“He’s playing three-dimensional football executive,” another rival exec said. “I thought Howie set the bar when he had the offseason where he traded away Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso to move up in the draft and then moved up again for Carson Wentz, and ends up winning a Super Bowl with a backup quarterback (Nick Foles). I considered that his hat tip, but nope, he did it again, the m-----------.”

Seahawks GM John Schneider (6.5 votes) was the runner-up, thanks to the bold Russell Wilson trade that delivered a haul from Denver and a draft class that produced OROY and DROY candidates in Kenneth Walker III and Tariq Woolen and two starting offensive tackles. The Seahawks are in the playoff hunt at 7-7, and Wilson's replacement, Geno Smith, was just selected to the Pro Bowl.

"The whole world told (Schneider) they were f---ing gonna not be worth a s---," a third executive said. "They were competitive. He drafts Woolen in what f---ing round was that? And then those two tackles. That was pretty brave. Then just managing the quarterback position. That's hard to do."

Jets GM Joe Douglas got two votes. Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, 49ers GM John Lynch, Chiefs GM Brett Veach and Bills GM Brandon Beane got one each.

Y’all know I’m a big Minshew fan. I can see him lighting up a depleted secondary.

Hell, y’all might even see some actual quarterbacking going on Saturday. :wink

I heard a stat yesterday and it was something like Dallas is 13-0 in their last 13 home games against divisional opponents.
looks like it's something like 7 in a row. They got waxed on by WAS 11/26/20 according to pfr.

Looks like 13-1 at home vs. divisional opponents from 2018-2022.

overdue for a loss
Agreed, as long as they put up a good fight and Hurts is back next week we are good.

For those who want Hurts MVP they better hope Gardner stinks up the joint. Minshew Performing well is great for Eagles bad for Hurts argument to win MVP.
Don't care. THough I'm not sure you're correct here either.

More importantly, what Eagles fan wouldn't want their QB to win it? (IE: We can want Hurts to win but not enough to wish a bad game from Minshew)

I care far more about a win, no one that wants Hurts to win MVP want Minshew to stink.
