This is a good point. And I personally think this type of stuff when it came with "Sure he has all the intangibles, but can he throw" type themes (including myself) is already baked into his persona. The team seems to be a bunch of "Jalenites" in all honesty, they are all on the same page. I would be surprised if a guy like this that is so even keel and almost sociopathic (cut to the vid of the entire WR group laughing/celebrating/fake tossing dollars and Jalen just zoning out, emotionless) would flail on the big stage. He "carries his scars with him" and i'm sure a big one is that national championship game he got benched at half for.

And I"m with ya, if he comes out with a lights out performance, look out league.

An Eagles vs Cowboys NFCC game would be the most nerve-racking experience ever endured by both fanbases. So much trash would be talked leading up and neither fan base would be able to handle the fallout of losing to the other.

Arguably the best game I ever attended was the 2008, week 17, 44-6 curb stomping against Dallas to get into the playoffs. You're right. a NFCC game at the Link would be more explosive.

To be fair though, most Cowboys fans I know IRL are not terribly aware of what's going on. Cowboys have a TON of fans that know little to nothing about football in general. (Obviously this doesn't apply to SP posters)

In college we use to call out the frauds constantly. One dude claimed to be a diehard so we asked him to name 4 Dal players currently. Barely got 2 and we told him he could name anyone else couldn't even name Jason Witten who's jersey he was wearing.
 
I hope we don't play SF at all if we get to the Conference title game. Don't get me wrong starters wise we are good but SF has elite players at almost every position besides QB. Their Front 7 D wise is a monster, Offensively so many weapons and Purdy just threw for over 3OO in his first playoff game. Just not sure we got enough fire power to get into a shootout with them or stop all their weapons at once.

SF looks like the best team in Football playing wise right now in the playoffs.

Saw the first half. SF is beatable. Offensive skill positions are incredible but Purdy isn't special. he's calm and cool but makes mistakes....shoulda been picked at least once in that first half. SF on defense has performed well, but they're hardly the 85 Bears out there. They're good, but not quite dominant. A team like the Eagles could well get in a shootout with them and hang.


That said, I do think SF is the best in the league at the moment.

See this a lot with Cowboys fans around here. I giggle when someone claims they're a "die hard 'Boys fan" then can't even tell you if they won last week, or if they're making the playoffs or not.

If NYG win this game, does that mean we likely play Saturday? (assuming if it's the MNF winner then they'd push us to Sunday)

ehh maybe. for the record, i think Eagles should win against all 3 of the potential opponents, but Cowboys and Bucs have more obvious holes. this Giants team is playing with a lot of confidence, and yes Eagles have more talent, but they need to play a good game.

Good news is that the coaching staff should have an easy job this week. game-planning already 3 times for this team, they should be ready

The numbers are even better in recent history. Since 1994, there have been 16 instances, 11 times a team has swept.

ETA: In the 24 third meetings between the same teams, the team with the two regular-season wins has been the home team 19 times. In those games, the home team is 13-6.
Now, in the five times the road team was going for the sweep, that team is 2-3.

-Team they're playing coming off a bye

Out of the Giants, Cowboys and Bucs, I think the Giants are the best team right now. Eagles should still win but I expect it to be very close. Is Daniel Jones good now? It sure seems like it.
 
Feel like the Giants are getting way too much credit. If Hurts, Lane, and Sweat are healthy enough, the game really shouldn't be close. Aside from Seattle, this is the match-up I wanted.

We had this happen to us, in 2009, when DAL won all 3, including the last regular season game and the playoff game back-to-back.

At the start of the season every single Eagles fan would have signed up for “1 seed with no Rodgers or Brady to worry about, only Daniel Jones and Brock Purdy in your path to the Superbowl” and that now has a strong chance of being reality.

Not saying that makes it a slam dunk or even easy, but definitely puts them in one of the best positions of all the ways things could have shaken out.

Giants do not scare me. If they beat us, we deserve to lose. I'd be ok with a couple Home Division Games to be played en route to the Super Bowl, also. Chef's kiss and all.
 
Yeah I was wavering prior to yesterday's games and was feeling like the team I wanted to face the least was the Giants. However, I had it in my mind (incorrectly) that they were coming in with some kind of momentum. I looked at their schedule and the Giants over the last 10 weeks of the season were 3-6-1. More importantly, in that time span they scored 3 TDs three times (once was against us in total garbage time). They scored 13 against Seattle, 18 against Detroit, 20 against Dallas and Washington, 22 against us (but really that game was out of hand when they scored late), 20 against Washington, 24 against the Vikings, 10 against the Colts and 16 against us in a meaningless game.

The point is this team cannot score enough points to keep up with us. They DID put up 31 points against the Vikings, but they are arguably the worst defense in the league. We are arguably the best. I think we all have some recency bias in that the last time the Eagles a. were healthy b. had a gameplan in place to use Hurts effectively was probably the last time we played the Giants and nearly dropped a 50 burger on them.

For all the hype that Wink Martindale gets for bringing heat so often, they don't have any double digit sack guys. The concern with Lane coming back at less than 100% was potentially being matched up with Parsons. The Giants don't really have any good edge rushers which helps the Lane situation a lot.

I just don't see a scenario where we don't blow the doors off this team.

ETA: Hockenson grabbed 10 passes for 130 yards yesterday. Goedert should have his way with this defense.
 
I'm not expecting a blowout. We saw divisional games all weekend. Seahawks stayed with the Niners for 3 qtrs. Dolphins almost pulled off the upset. Ravens arguably should have won if not for a fluke 98 yd TD return.

We "should" win easily but divisional games throw should out the window. It's gonna be one of those gut wrenching games that we never feel right about until we get that late TD to pull away.

Feel like this is the opposite of the 2000 season. Eagles were the up and coming team, but not quite there yet. Went 0-2 against the Giants and lost against them again in the playoffs. Was only 20-10, but honestly don't remember it even being that close. Giants have a bright future since they finally have adults in charge, but they're not ready for prime time yet.

Pretty sure most of those games involved the favorite turning the ball over...a lot. In games have Hurts and win the turnover margin, we haven't lost. As long as we play our brand of football cleanly, this team won't come close to us. Division rival or not. We *will* get to Jones and he *will* turn the ball over. My only concern really is the coaches calling some stupid game plan. Other than that, 34 -17 coming is what I see.

Also Boston Scott can open the game with a kickoff return TD, that'd be nice.

Clete “No clear recovery” Blakeman is the ref for Saturday.

Shockingly, that is the only game we have lost with him as ref (13-1, including the SB.)

when he says the "whole entire situation," he just means what the extent of the injury is, or is there something to read into?

ESP on multiple radio stations as well as Go Birds podcast has said as far back last week that Lane looks FAR better than he was expecting. Like, not simply doing drills on the sidelines but practicing with the oline like nothing happened.

Hurts still hasn't healed fully from the injury. What the practice reports means really is that he's able to practice. A lot of teams do this where guys are still hurt to an extent but can practice and just don't bother reporting it. NE is notorious for this and theres some black and white line of where legality in terms of what teams can get away with on that in play. You're technically suppose to report any injuries prior to who you play even if the player is only dealing with something like a cold or whatever.
