2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (6 Viewers)

Hurts off of the injur list per multiple outlets after practice today.

that last statement on the article on Lane Johnson,

“I don’t know the depth of the whole entire situation, but I know he’s a true warrior, and I know he’s eager to be out there with us, and that’ll be a decision that he has to make.”

when he says the "whole entire situation," he just means what the extent of the injury is, or is there something to read into?
with Lane going to Dr. Meyers, i am thinking his injury is similar to the one i had playing rugby with a "pelvic floor repair" it was a torn abducter though, instead of adducter. i wasn't pushing around 300 pound dudes and crashing like these guys do, but it was tolerable. the pain. it was more of a nagging injury, that can wear on you, but i think he will play on it. he may have to come out in the 2nd half if it is nagging a lot, but it shouldn't slow him from playing next week if they win. it is the kind of injury that couldn't get much worse, was just a nagging pain

It’s funny that I have completely been oblivious to this, but the literal last opponent for both of these teams was each other. So they basically have been game planning for the giants for 2-3 weeks straight. Really can’t think of a reason why this coaching staff should not be well prepared

Well the last opponent for the giants was the vikings

They didn't know they'd be playing The Giants until T.J. was tackled short of a first down. If The Vikes had won they then would have to consider Dallas or Tampa until that game was over. The Giants winning did give them an extra day. But going into last week they could have played any one of three teams.

Sprechen Sie Deutsch?

NFL announced KC and NE will both play home games in Germany next season, and both are on the Eagles away-game schedule.

Just came to post this. They usually do inter conference games there, but there's maybe a good chance we get one of those two games.

If my cousin is still working over there that might be a chance to get me over. He did say though the American fans were embarrassing over there though. Obnoxious drunk and entitled he felt embarrassed calling himself an American right there. So note to anyone who goes over seas for these games. Don't act like an ******* and respect the hosts there.

I have listened/watched way too much about this match-up on Saturday during this week. i have to say i was getting a bit worried with all of the narrative out there, but listened to the latest "Birds with Friends" show and heard some funny stuff that has me more confident:

1) Giants started the season 6-1. They had 4 wins since then. The Minny game certainly stands out, but since week 7, they beat Houston, Indy and Washington and that is it

2) one of the more popular guys covering the Giants (Conner Hughes) wrote something about how the Giants are catching the Eagles at the right time. His 2nd reason is that "Robert Quinn was limited this week in practice". :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

not sure about the line being more than a TD because they can keep it close, but as for the outcome of the game i think the Eagles win 9 out of 10 times they play, and that 1 loss would have to be due to multiple bad mistakes from the Eagles (e.g. Hurts totally regresses to last year's playoffs, 3+ turnovers with not getting any turnovers from the defense, etc.)

Just watching ESPN and they had a betting guy on. He said he's all over the Eagles at -7.5. He thinks the line should be 9. They put up a stat of most 1 score wins and point differential. The Vikings were #1 with a negative point differential. The Giants were #2 with a negative point differential (little hazy on the point differentials but they were both bad) and the rest of the top one score win teams were in the +70 to +140 range. He did that to point out how lucky and bad those teams were.

Minny were a fraud all year so they were bound to lose either last weekend or this weekend. Probably would've been boat raced if they had to play SF

Anthony Harris was Called up from the Practice squad. This tells me CJGJ will be playing Slot CB when the Eagles go into Nickel Packages to replace Maddox

Should we win, yes. Everything points to us being the better team, unlike the many questionable signs MIN brought to the NYG matchup.

But, Philly sports teams have already experienced magical 2022 seasons end with a loud playoff “whomp, whomp” twice, and if the “everything happens in threes” tradition holds and we somehow poo the bed tonight, it will be a miserable walk back to my car through the parking lots tonight!

Don’t be bringing that negative **** in here!

Tonight is a huge night in the Jalen Hurts story. This game basically boils down to how well he plays. Lane is battling through an injury and isn't 100%, and Maddox is out with the toe. But, otherwise, we are almost full strength.

Fair or not (injury or not), the narrative on Hurts is going to be "can't get it done in the playoffs" or "he's a poor man's Lamar" if the Eagles lose. I have a lot of faith that he has the personality to handle the big stage and not wilt under the lights. The only real concern is how much the shoulder affects his play.

Was watching some talking head with a gambling eggspurt on his show. Guy said a lot of "public money" was coming in on the Giants. They showed out versus the Vikings; Daniel jones is now Josh Allen Part Deux; Saquon is healthy; people are finally noticing how strong the interior Dline for NYG is; Eagles limped into post-season, licking their wounds.

So, all this money is pouring in on NYG to cover or win, but the line never moved. He says a lot of "sharp money" was coming in on the Eagles. That makes me really hopeful that Jalen's shoulder is right. If he is at 80%, I am extremely confident the Eagles win, and cover.

FWIW, the line jumped a point this morning. Eagles are now -8.5

As of this morning on Draftkings 67% of the bets are on the Giants but the handle (which is really all that matters) is 49% - 51%

the amount of $$ wagered. So while there are more individual bets on the Giants, the actual money gambled is closer to 50/50

Sorry

I see you got the answer though above.

Yeah, the amount of bets placed isn’t nearly important as the amount of money wagered is what people will tell you when using these #s in your handicapping

I mean, -7.5 is just daring rookie betters to take the Giants. So I can see a lot of small bets being taken on them which would be consistent with those numbers.

What a slate for eagles fans

Appetizer of Doug vs Andy

The Main Event

Bills vs Bengals for real (ok not really any eagles tie except for McDermott but should be a great game and the tension is high after the last one left us all with blue balls)

Two historic franchises with the Cowboys hopefully getting smacked down

From a pure football standpoint, don't you think our chances of winning a SB are better if we play Dallas than if we play SF?

I think it’s close enough that I would rather not risk potentially losing to the cowboys…

San Fran is probably better, but I wouldn’t want to see the cowboys on their best day

True, but I think we match up way better with Dallas. SF would be a big problem for us. I agree how bad it would be to lose to them, but would also be so epic and would be Dallas' 3rd road game in a row.

Interesting. Think you're in the minority there. SF is really good even with Purdy and a really bad matchup for us.

Tend to agree. Honestly feel like he's been kind of lucky....multiple dropped picks. But Purdy has poise and the best collection of skill players in the league. SF is no joke

What a slate for eagles fans

Appetizer of Doug vs Andy

The Main Event

Bills vs Bengals for real (ok not really any eagles tie except for McDermott but should be a great game and the tension is high after the last one left us all with blue balls)

Two historic franchises with the Cowboys hopefully getting smacked down
I want the Boys. Giants to Cowboys to Andy is like a ****ing video game plot line with big boss at the end.
I hear you, but I am never going to root for the cowboys
From a pure football standpoint, don't you think our chances of winning a SB are better if we play Dallas than if we play SF?
I think it’s close enough that I would rather not risk potentially losing to the cowboys…

Ya SF scary. But let's not talk about this until tomorrow. Tonight is no gimme.

Anyone doubting SF because of Purdy is fooling themselves. SF has great Players around Purdy and in the NFL 1 guy doesn't make the team.

Not doubting SF. Just don't think they're QUITE as good with him as many people think. They ARE beatable.

When do we play a real team in the playoffs. If the Eagles didn't play so Vanilla on the last game of the season it would've looked worse for NYG. My one boss should be quite for awhile.

Pretty cool history for Andy here. Really happy for the guy. Just pissed off that I think KC has the best Version of Andy ever. Learned from mistakes in Philly finally running the offense he dreamed he could have yrs ago here. We won a SB and he got his don't see how anyone could be upset with the guy anymore.

Andy Reid is the 1st head coach in NFL history to win 10 playoff games with 2 different teams
Reid is only the 3rd NFL head coach in NFL history to appear in 10 Conference Championships

Fantastic performance tonight. Very very happy with this game.

Fingers crossed that AJ Brown is not hurt seriously. Seems unlikely but there was definitely a little hitch in his giddyup there late

Reminded me of the play where Embiid scored the game winner rolled his foot and limped. Been nursing it again ever since.

Eagles in 3 games beat the Giants 1O8-45 Could've been worse if we didn't treat WK 18 like a Preseason game. And if I'm a giants fan **** Daibol for giving up like that. Like I said in Game day thread thats a fireable offense and if I'm a player going out last year of contract with the giants I think of not coming back. As an upcoming FA from elsewhere I'd tell my agent to not even speak to the Giants I don't want to play for a coach like that.

Wouldn't be happy about it, but truth is the game WAS out of reach already. And he took a team nobody expected to do well into the playoffs and won a playoff game on the road. Calling for his job is more then a little reactionary, he's done a good job this year

Serious question here: This isn't against Hurts or Jones at all but curious why both can't be the same opinion.

Whole Game I hear Davis and Johnson talking about Hurts like he's a Franchise QB already despite struggling his first 2 yrs. Then Daniel Jones had some struggles his years to start as well. He makes a big jump himself but it's a wait and see approach with him. Why if both guys have similar struggles one gets annoited a Franchise QB but the other is wait and see give them another year?

Either Both are Franchise QBs now or wait another year. These are things that just annoy me about commentators and Media people constantly. No one is consistent. 1 good year doesn't make a career either way. You want to see year to year consistency.

They've barely beaten anyone. Good early start to the year then struggled at the end. Someone here mentioned their Wins were Hou WAS and one other bad team to end the year and beat a fraud Minny team. Giants are a decent team they did well with the schedule they were handed. They just don't impress me as a team honestly.

Ummmmm....I've been very impressed with Jones this year and feel like he absolutely deserves to keep his job.....but.......

No way on God's green earth did he approach what hurts was doing this year. Now, SOME of that is a much poorer supporting cast (esp. WR), but his numbers really aren't remotely close to what Hurts did. You STILL have some serious anti-Hurts blinders on, and it's positively baffling.

A winning record is a winning record. No...they weren't in the same class as Philly/SF/Buffalo/KC etc., but they were certainly at worst average....and that was a surprise
