2022 Shout Outs to Fantasy Fails (1 Viewer)

Catharsis is always a good thing, and hey if we can’t laugh about our mistakes how can we grow from them?

Give me a shout out to a player who was a terrible pick, who’s vexed you this season.

Not injury-related, because that can hit at any time*.

I’ll start:
Shout out to the dynamic duo of Russell Wilson & Sutton. Thanks so much for that 1 double touchdown y’all gave me.

*Swift injury shout outs are the lone exception.

Elijah Moore and Kadarius Toney as my #2 and #3 WRs. I don't think Toney is injury related, didn't he just pass a physical in KC?

Chase Edmonds

First (or among the very first) free agent signing with a sizable contract (for RBs) - thought he would ball out in McDaniel’s fast-paced spread offense. Not so much…
Plus, Edmonds has looked good as a receiver, in the one preseason game and in the regular season - when he holds on to the ball. He dropped a sure TD from Tua in the loss to CIN. His skills apparently don't fit the run blocking scheme.

He was a draft target of mine, but was taken a round before I was ready to pull the trigger. Incidentally, he was just dropped in my league and I scooped him up. He's one injury away from fantasy relevance.

I dropped him last week and surprisingly no one picked him up this past week. Regarding one injury away, he would undoubtedly get a bump if Mostert gets hurt as in the past, but given how much he’s fallen out of favor, I wouldn’t be shocked if Gaskin and/or Ahmed were also heavily involved.

Dalton Schultz (6th), Chase Edmonds (7th), & Kmet (10th) didn’t work out. Whatever - happens every year, always a few that don’t go as planned. 10 of my first 13 picks have made meaningful contributions & I’ve gotten some production off the wire.

Overall I’m pretty indifferent about players taken after the 5th round. Got a little lucky and my WR-RB-RB-WR-QB (e.g., first 5 picks) has been a good foundational core.

From the 1 slot in a 12 team league, my Taylor, Deebo, Fournette, Dionte, kyler Murray start had me totally satisfied after the draft. Here I am at 2-5 in that league now. So shout out to ALL of those under achievers (sad when Fournette is the most solid of that bunch).

Ditto. I took him as my RB3 on that same assumption. Could have recovered from it if RB1 and RB2 hadn’t gotten hurt.

Very overweight on chase Edmonds, Mooney, and Allen Robinson. Luckily ARSB too but yeah it’s been the worst fantasy season in a while!

In terms of players I was fairly high on and drafted a lot the easy winner would be Akers. I did change my opinion of him about a little over a week before the opener but the damage was done.

Elijah Mitchell in the 4th-5th rounds or wherever I picked him multiple times, what a waste of a pick and then even dumb enough to keep him in my IR slot until the McCaffrey trade happened.

Good thread HSG
