I went to photograph my alma mater Grove City College today. They beat their rival Westminster 17-7 to break a 2 game losing streak against the Titans.
O/U 500 fans in the stands?
Nah. A couple of thousand. Free admission plus a winning team does wonders. They got a parent group that behind this team. And they’ve been to bowl games the last three years. These aren’t our Wolverines. 😎

At what point does Baylor panic? They had one ok year with Rhule's seniors since he left and has been bad to awful since. They are on the hook for some half billion in facility improvements they intended to fund with XII money that is anything but certain in this environment.

Felt the TV product was in the wrong direction. The end of the CU TCU game being a prime example of how willing TV is to drag out games.

Why is the play clock still 45 seconds?

It's 40 seconds, but usually starts as soon as the previous play is over... whether it was a 2 yd run up the middle or an 80 yd pass play.

Some plays run a 25 second play clock, but the game clock is stopped usually.

Because the ND kick returner got wiped out with a helmet hit and no call, then an ND player got ejected for an inadvertent helmet hit on a tackle to a runner
These refs in the Middle Tennessee vs Alabama game have a bright future in the NFL. Terrible targeting call on the punt return.

:howling at the moon:
Anybody have a link of video clips of these hits? I'd love to see them but my interweb searches have been fruitless.

Well, I was there the same time as RJ Bowers, so there was definitely a bit of interest then. But yeah, even then it was more of an afterthought. Cool that it’s becoming something.

Feel like these rules were put in mostly to help Alabama and make more money. In no particular order

I think the Big XII is locked in. Nobody above them wants any of those schools and nobody below them exists anymore.

Does Fla State have anything more to throw at LSU? The Seminoles have landed several haymakers and have had multiple positive momentum shifts … but still trail by seven.

LSU offense struggling hard, having to resort to Daniels taking off from jump. Let’s see if that gets them any room to work vs the Seminoles’ stingy D.

Lsu is the better team imo - their dline is mailing the Noles oline - but game is tied.

Now LSU’s knees are buckling. Lacy’s drop was the dagger.

Fla St should not hand off the rest of the game. Make LSU show they can stop the pass ( tonight, they can’t).

Amazing what a solid QB throwing to him and a competent OC game planning to Coleman can produce. Dude was wasted in his time at MSU. GL to him this season. Can’t wait to watch him continue to blow up at FLA STATE. Enjoy Capella

Pac12 about to go undefeated as week 1 comes to an end. A shame they couldn't figure things out.
Pac 12 is stronger top, to bottom, than it's been in years. I'm going to try to enjoy the last ride of the conference (as it's currently constructed) but it's such ********. I just wish there was a way to stand against the networks.....the TV contracts are destroying college athletics.

(Does tomahawk chop in living room)

lol I had tickets and a hotel for this game and months ago my wife asked if today’s date was good for a baby shower and I said sure! There is no college football on Sunday and the nfl doesn’t start till next week. Whoops! Always write stuff down when you get old you all.

Brian Kelly ladies and gentlemen.
Maybe … but he didn’t drop back-breaking passes tonight.
Lack of concern about practicing special teams. Short yardage runs repeatedly stuffed. Zero halftime adjustments. Fourth down pass plays short of the sticks. Lobbing it all over the yard…

It’s like Brian Kelly bingo tonight. This is exactly who he’s been for years. I like LSU but cannot root for that guy. LSU will be better the day they jettison him.

Wait until you see President McNulty leading the student section in a singing of Sweet Caroline at the end of the third quarter.

FSU looked good. I can complain about some of the stuff LSU was or wasn't doing, but they just ran into a buzz saw.
I thought LSU was showing a lot of resiliency in the first half -- Fla State was succeeding on several different fronts, but throughout the first half could not get out in front on the scoreboard.

The second half was a whole different story. On another board, someone pointed out that Fla State started spying Daniels so that he couldn't just run free for first downs out of every passing formation (which was basically LSU's second-quarter offense). Yes, using a spy compromised Fla State's pass coverage, giving them one less man to match up with. No, LSU's WRs could not capitalize. Dudes were running free in the Seminoles' secondary, but if you can't catch ... being wide open doesn't mean much.

I thought Daniels was hesitant to throw downfield again. I expected to see him improve in that area. He's good at it when he does it, but he plays scared. I haven't been able to bring myself to go read the LSU boards yet, but I imagine the Nussmier guys are going nuts.

Daniel’s did fine making the right throws. LSU’s WRs couldn’t catch the balls.

As out of hand as the score got, the game really came down to four plays that LSU failed to make — the two missed 4th down conversions in the first half and the two dropped passes in the third quarter. The complexion of the ballgame, of course, changes drastically if LSU had gotten up by two TDS in the first half — which was in their grasp.

I was at the FSU-LSU game last night. Stadium was packed & ~70% FSU based. Rocket 🚀 launch was cool as we could see it from our seats.

Refs 🦓 were absolutely horrible in the 1st half.

This game was all about making the correct halftime adjustments. FSU defense came ready to play.

Wonder how far up the rankings we go. Especially considering this was the only Week 1 ranked matchup of the wkend.
