Call me boring but I'd be surprised if anyone other then Mahomes or Hurts wins it. If I were a betting man I'd lay down money on whoever wins Monday as the MVP. NFL MVP voting is flawed and this year will really display that

Still lots of football to be played but agree that whoever wins on Monday most likely will have it locked up. Eagles have probably the "toughest" remaining schedule with a rough stretch coming up with KC, Bills, 49ers and Cowboys again. They've been taking care of business but that is a tough 4 game stretch right there. KC though has a relatively weak remaining schedule after Philly on Monday though, some 5-5 teams but they are all flawed.

Stroud I think would have to come close to running the table to have a legit shot IMO. Texans lost against some bad to mediocre teams that would hurt in comparison to Philly or KC if they all end up with similar records.

across the board qb numbers are subpar comparatively to recent qb mvp numbers.

If there’s ever a year a non qb should win it it is this year.

Jalen hurts as the mvp favorite?? 15/8 not top 5 in qbr 6 tush push 1 yard td plunges just isn’t doing it.

Hurts deserved it last year. His play this year has been uneven. But to suggest that his numbers should be taken with a grain of salt because of the tush push is ridiculous. Like it or not, it’s a legal play this year and we are discussing MVP for this year.

Just my opinion, but I think the NFL markets and drives who they want to be popular. It's business, I get it. Hurts and Mahomes are the poster boys for the NFL. So when I say boring it isn't an attack on either player it's just who the league prefers. For business. All my opinion and I reserve the right to change that opinion with a logical rebuttal.

Stroud is playing great but he's getting ROTY so they won't give him MVP unless the Texans just keeeeep winning. If they finish something like 11-6, 12-5 then he will be really hard to ignore.

Goff is playing great but the OL, Campbell and Ben Johnson are going to get such a big share of the credit that it won't be possible for Goff to win.

Allen isn't winning games, he is done.

Mahomes is going to suffer from the expectations he has set. The numbers just won't pop.

Tua can't win the big games and his coach gets a lot of credit. Plus Tyreek may be the OPOTY which hurts the case for Tua.

This leaves me looking at Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson as the pretty obvious guys at this point. I suppose it could be a year for something surprising to happen or a non-QB to sneak in but that's very unlikely

Yep. 100% agreed. I'm not saying they don't deserve the top shelf listing they get from the NFL. They are both likeable and marketable investments for the league. I'm also not saying they don't deserve it. I'm saying we like to throw out different names for fun of players who should be in the discussion and I believe the league is gonna keep it "boring" by staying in it's box. Maybe I should have used the word vanilla instead of boring. Boring triggers a non deserving type intention. Thats not my stance. Appreciate the discussion

I have 4 legs of a 5 leg parlay (look at me!!) with the last leg the NFL MVP. Have Mahomes and Hurts for the win but seeing both parlays pay about 1000-1 I’ve been hedging with Lamar as I have to monetize the bets.

KC Philly game Mon nite will go a long way of possibly determining a front runner.

Will be paying close attention to the MVP market and enjoy some of the insight posted here.

This is probably true, but I still want to note Goff is the number 1 quarterback by PFF grade. Is he surrounded by a good situation? Def in terms of his OC, and while ARSB is more elite than most realize, the remainder of the WR corps is mid or worse. Outstanding rookie TE but alas, still just a rookie, he's not (yet) capable of putting up a monster game like a Kelce or Kittle. Very good OL but you could also argue he helps make them look good bc the ball comes out quick.

But jared is just one of those QBs who, no matter how elite they perform, no matter how sound his footwork and arm angle and accuracy and reading defenses might be, people are very apt to look elsewhere to give the credit to those who support him and put him in a position to succeed. He ia, IMO, underrated and underappreciated by casuals and the national mediaheads with the most clout.

With a questionable/weak cast of QB performances so far this season, and Tyreek looking very likely to break the single season receiving yards record, and Miami will be a playoff team who I think goes to the AFC championship game, AND the fact I'm a degenerate gambler lol.... I'll take Hill for +6000 all day. Performance vs. payout I think he takes the cake as the best bet, meaning the best one to actually put money on. Who do I think will actually win? I'd guess Lamar.

Hurts got the W but looked bad most of the game, he’ll likely default to the frontrunner by virtue of having the best record currently. Mahomes crap WR’s are killing him and the Chiefs offense, definitely not looking like his year.

The point is no lock so Stroud can’t be automatically discarded especially if they solidify winning division shortly. Could easily see them finishing 11-6. Stroud could win MVP and OROY I’d even say Dell is top 3 OROY.

Starting to get the feel that this could be the year when a non QB wins the award. None of Hurts Mahomes Tua et al are having a standout years while McCaffrey could end up with close to 2000 scrimmage yards/60 recpts/25 TDs. That may be enough this year. SF has a big game vs Hurts and Philly next week that CMC could propel himself into the MVP race with a big game. I’m a buyer at 30-1

If we gave it out now, it's Lamar. Hurts and Mahomes are in striking distance. A darkhorse would be Tyreek but a non-QB seems unlikely. Tyreek is likely just competing for OPOTY.

My vote right now would be CMac. Consistency is another level of amazing.
If Lamar were truly an MVP, he would have won the game against a Browns team that has nowhere near the talent of the Ravens. Until he comes up big in big games, he's not an MVP.

Purdy leads the league in a lot of statistical categories as you can see, but last night's game didn't help much.

If anything, I agree, CMC looks great and even though his odds shortened a bit (16 to 1 on my betting site), I may take a stab. He's leading the league in TDs and he is the most valuable member of one of the best teams in the league. Isn't that the point of the award?

If Dak runs the table, I could see him jumping into the race as well.

The NFL wants to give it to Mahomes or Hurts, but I'm looking for more value in betting...
