Some random thoughts.

• I don't understand the luck talk. Unless the ball is taking weird bounces or deflections, it isn't luck. KC as a team is leading the league (or close to it) in dropped passes. It's who they are this year. When the other team plays poorly, Eagles are lucky. Eagles play poorly and they deserve to die in a fire? Very weird take.
• That being said, after 10 games everyone needs to stop waiting for the Eagles to play a complete game. Players, fans, keep saying it's going to happen like it's inevitable. Maybe this is what they are, a bit of a sloppy mess, but finding ways to win.
• Sloppy play takes me to coaching. OC feels like he's hitting the random button in Madden sometimes. No flow, nothing setting up future plays. Generally baffling decisions. My "favorite" last night was after a failed WR screen to the left, he tries a failed WR screen to the right. Maddening. The go ahead pass to Smith was an audible by Hurts, so what is Johnson bringing to the table?
• Desai is a better DC than Gannon, but that's a low bar and doesn't mean Desai is actually good. Still hate this style of defense, but we're stuck with it for now and at least dude makes adjustments and tries some different things. He's done more with less.
• Been a little disappointed with the oline this year, but that's because my expectations are so ridiculously high. Lane now just looks great instead of his usual best lineman in the game. I wonder how much longer he and Kelce will play. I'm sure Kelce would have retired if they won last year. Those are big shoes to fill. We've been so spoiled for so long and I don't want it to end!
• Hurts is legit. To say otherwise is being a hater, nothing else. He isn't perfect, no QB is. Did you see the errant throws Mahomes had last night? But how can you watch this guy play and not be thrilled he's on your team? Does he still have room for improvement? Yup. Is he still very young and can possibly improve? Also, yup.
• As frustrating as they've been to watch at times, they still have the best record in football. Ugly wins beat pretty losses every time, so enjoy the ride!

I don’t mind hurts at QB I just think our fanbase severely overrates him a lot . I also can’t stand his little quotes and sayings. You say we need to do better as a team but I don’t see it. Actions for me speak louder. I don’t give a **** about motivational quotes. I care more about Super Bowl trophies.

Good guy teammates seem to like him but man stop with the dam quotes. Just say I wasn’t my best today and that can’t happen for us to reach our goals and be done with it. Motivational quotes are used for teams like the dam Giants who suck or bears not us. At this point his standards are well above his capabilities f that he’s set himself up if not reaching them it looks like it was a failure. His pr team really needs to get him to stop with these. He’s also not my type of QB play I want. I’d prefer the Herbert’s, prime Rodgers, Big Ben’s of the world Mahomes and our a similar style to McNabb. Nothing wrong with that. Randall Cunningham is my favorite QB all time but I understabd he’s not the type who’s gonna win ya a SB either if you are looking for a franchise QB not a quick over the hump.

Lastly, Hurts is better than McNabb could have ever wished to be. And McNabb is why I’m an eagles fan. He’s also better Herbert.

Time will tell if Hurts is in the company of Rogers and Big Ben, but he is well on his way.

I just don’t see hurts having that it factor to win a SB. Watching him play he looks like another QB who’s gonna put up very good regular season games but doesn’t have it to win the big one. Good player but I think he’s gonna be another stats guy.

We most likely would have won the SB if Hurts hadn’t fumbled. So I think this is a really dumb thing to say.

But you know what, it’s fine. You don’t like Jalen Hurts and you never will. You never give him credit for anything. I’m just gonna assume you’re upset Wentz was benched for him.

You’re entitled to your opinion, I’m not going to attack you about it. I kind of feel bad for you, Hurts is gonna be Philly’s QB the next 10+ years more than likely. That’s a long time to not like your teams QB. Howie has done an amazing job at building a team around him to succeed.

I’m confident he will remain a top player for years to come and he will bring a Super Bowl to Philly, maybe even this season. I love him.

That kick he made to send it to OT was absolutely beastly.

Hurts was fantastic in teh fourth QTR and OT, the defense not so much. We should have lost this one but Jake hit that monster kick and Hurts was Hurts.
Has to be in the lead for MVP now.

But Djax will poopoo it away and call it lucky. This team should have lost another game or two, but the attitude and icewater veins are absolutely loveable traits. I'm just astounded that any Eagles fan isn't in love with Hurts at QB yet

Absolutely correct, but you've missed the bigger point. Of course you can't go 10 down every game and expect to come back...but Hurts has shown repeatedly that he is more then capable of bringing this team back, and you refuse to give him any of the credit.

I (and most here) will freely admit we probably should have lost today, and probably at least one of the other games. Talent wise this team should probably be 8-3 instead of 10-1. But they aren't 8-3, and the biggest reason they are 10-1 instead is because of the icewater running through Jalen Hurts' veins and his ability to deliver in the clutch. He isn't perfect...the fumble that set Buffalo up on a short field first half of this game was absolutely on him, but he makes a ton of big plays under pressure.

Great win. Great perseverance. But I keep going back to how we don't have to make this so freaking hard. Swift having 3 carries in the first half is criminal. He has the ability to break one at any time like he did in the second half. It also doesn't make sense to run him into the line for 2 yards and then abandoning him. Get him in space and let him do his thing. If BJ wants to run the screens, do it with swift or even Scott.

We also basically have AJB on a slant any time we want. Seeing that replay with the zone coverage analysis in the first half where all the routes were 15 yards down the field is very frustrating. There needs to be a deep self evaluation on the play calls.

These wins are great for the culture of the team but sooner or later, Johnson needs to learn on his studs.

Lane is a key part of that line. We were definitely missing him. OLine play hasn’t been great the last couple of weeks.

The first half playcalling was just brutal. It’s hard to imagine it’s him all game and he can pull a 180 like that and light up the second half isn’t it?

I think Siriani or another staff member takes over play calling. Johnson is garbage.

Lastly, the outside zone play was literally open all night.

We could have run it down their throat if we wanted to.

Hurts is not perfect (hell who is). He is not a statwhore 400/4 TD per game QB. He is best in a run first, RPO offense. He is athletic and most importantly isn’t a choker and clutch when we need it most.

The play calling is a clear issue, has been all season.

We 10-1 baby! On to SF.

Purdy is exactly the type of QB that doesn't scare me in the playoffs, because you don't have to worry about him using his legs so you don't need to account for him. You saw tonight, the Bills were in a ton of 3rd and longs and Allen's mobility extended drives for the Bills. But a guy like Tua, you can drop the extra guy in coverage and it give the pass rush an extra second to get home.

My critiques of Hurts weren't that he lacks arm strength and mobility. For Hurts, my critiques were he needed to read defenses better and have better touch on his passes. He's improved in those areas by leaps and bounds. Hurts issues were mostly between the ears. Purdy's issues are physical. He isn't going to wake up tomorrow and be any faster or throw any harder.

Trevor Lawrence maybe
Close, but NOT Tua
Prolly not Herbert

I just want to see him read the defense better both pre-snap and post-snap. He doesn't handle blitzing well, and teams will figure out how to stop his legs. Heck, for like 3 quarters Buf defense had his number.

It's honestly so bizarre. He looks so lost in the first half of games so often. He doesn't appear to read the field and then also holds onto the ball forever. But in the 2nd half, something just clicks and he takes command. Similar to how he was in college? Just a truly clutch QB (I didn't even think that existed TBH).

To answer your question, I'm taking Mahomes over him and that's it. The list ends there. Purdy may get there but I need to see how the rest of the year plays out.

This Is what many people said about Brady. Having an athletic QB is nice but it's not everything.

Eagles really need to figure out lane Johnson issue meaning when he’s out we need a capable replacement. Maybe start thinking in terms of back up QB type but with lane older I wouldn’t mind an OT early in the draft especially sandwiched between two DB picks. Or the very least a capable vet back up in FA and draft a guy later Stout can develop. It’s scary how bad this team is or looks when Lane isn’t out there

Yeah, I'm not 100% sold on Purdy's measurables and think he makes too many questionable choices, but dudes a gamer like Hurts with ice in his veins. He'll be around a while and SF is lucky to have him

This is a legit issue and my biggest fear in seasons to come. Driscoll flat out stunk and of course the play calling did him no favors. Curious if Steen can play tackle at either side, otherwise they need to find something in the draft. Free agent tackles are too expensive since they're so hard to find quality ones. We've been spoiled for decades.
