2024-25 NBA Thread: for the second time, somebody in Dallas hits low percentage shot that leads to a generation of conspiracy theories (19 Viewers)

Big win for the Pacers last night, though they almost blew it.

Those leprechauns are scary good...
I was impressed with how the Pacers handled OT.

When Boston pretty much took 3.5 quarters off and only seemed to start trying late in the 4th, once they clawed back from I think 19 down at that point and sent it to OT, I did not envision the Pacers being able to bounce back like they did in OT. That showed some heart.

And yes Boston is insanely good. PP appears to be taking a leap this season which is elevating their bench quite a bit.

I'm really impressed with Bilal's offensive improvement this year. He's developed a mid-range pull-up jumper off the dribble that looks so smooth. I noticed it some in preseason. And he's much more confident going to the rim and finishing strong. Last year, most of his shots looked pretty awkward. His defense was already good last year and has also improved. He's going to be a premier defender.

I love how many minutes they are giving their young guys. It's going to lead to some really rough nights, especially against the better teams, but it's what they need to do. And it at least makes them worth watching even if they are losing. According to last night's broadcast, Sarr, Carrington, and George are top three in MPG among rookies. Kuz was out last night, which resulted in their youngest starting lineup ever. Poole was the oldest at 25.

Man we are still really bad. Which is fine. It's part of what needed to be done. I mean does anyone know if Beal is still in the NBA? I don't watch the west coast stuff

I was really hoping Tristan Vukcevic drafted last year would have stepped up into the role Jonas Valanciunas is in. Hopefully he develops into it. Also, I like Poole less and less no matter how much he scores. I don't even know why. He looks like a sour puss out there to me.

Yeah, I liked Vukcevic last year. He has some skills. Hopefully he can develop more and get some minutes. Maybe Valanciunas will be good trade bait and then Tristan can play. It's not like Bagley and Holmes are part of this team's future.

Interesting about Poole. I was thinking how I seem to be hating him less and less.

well i guess based on some of the prior posts in here indiana must be the greatest basketball team of all time to beat the celtics who apparently sit at the right hand of the father like that in overtime last night take that to the bank bromigos

I'd sure like to taunt Slippers' fans for losing AT HOME to the worst team in the world, but I've never encountered a fan in the wild, so......

STOP WINNING GAMES, PORTLAND. CAPTURE THE FLAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Yeah, I expected the Pacers to fold in OT....was pleasantly surprised

Edey seems like he has really dropped a lot of weight. I guess it’s good for his health and career long term, but kind of takes away some of his advantages. They really don’t get him the ball deep enough a lot of the time on offense and delon wright went right at him on d and laid it in around him. I think the hope was that he could be sort of plug and play but he’s got a lot to work on.

Something has to give in San Antonio. The product on the floor stinks bad. No plan and no energy. Wemby chucked up 9 threes in the first half (3/9) and that's a bright spot. If I was a reporter, I'd ask Pop if he thinks he deserves his paycheck. Hot take I know. Change my mind.

He’s 75…BB lost his fastball and he is 3 years younger.

With the media (and me to some level) shoveling dirt on Denver, I got curious as to how KCP was playing this year. So far, he is averaging 5.6 ppg on 16.7% from three and .404 TS% while averaging basically 1 assist, rebound, steal, and block per game as well. Cappy or anybody else that has watched the Magic this season, is he playing as bad as his stats, or just missing shots?

Not sure I’ve ever seen this before. Boston had an 8-point possession. Grant Willams slammed Tatum down and got ejected. Two made free throws. Ball got a flagrant for being in the landing zone on a Tatum 3PA. Three more made free throws. Pritchard got fouled. One made free throw. He missed the second, Queta got the rebound and a dunk.

Missed the first quarter, but Spurs resemble an NBA tonight. This is what expect.

I think Sochan is going to become a problem for other teams. Watching him guard AE in the second half should be fun.

Supposedly Embiid shoved a reporter after the game. This was a reporter that referenced Joel’s son and dead brother in an article criticizing him for not playing opening night.

I don't like Embiid, but any reporter who would write an article that basically takes the "he needs to actually play if he wants to honor dead people in his family" angle is a piece of garbage.

It wasn’t quite like that but it was clearly unnecessary and the language was actually taken out shortly after the initial release.

Sixers now have more investigations by the league than they do wins.

Another year, another season of wasted keystrokes on a poverty franchise like the 76ers. Haven't won anything in 40 years, but somehow think the rest of us give a crap about them. They are East Coast Portland.

Paul George set to make his debut on Monday night barring any setbacks, of which I’m sure there will be many and they will require an investigation

This Orlando team without Paolo is hot garbage. I mean I don't expect anything and I'm still letdown.
