In 19 minutes - NBA record for most points in 20 minutes of play. Some guy named Sandro Mamukelashvili scored 34 points tonight for the Spurs
Some media person said something to Tari Eason post game about people not believing in the Rockets since they have so many young guys without lots of playoff experience. His response:
“People hated Jesus, too.”
Awesome quote.

BREAKING: Bill Chisholm, managing partner at Symphony Technology Group, has agreed to purchase the Boston Celtics from the Grousbeck family for a valuation for $6.1 billion, sources tell ESPN. This now is the largest sale for a sports franchise in North America.
Can’t wait for the new owner syndrome to kick in with a trade of Jrue Holiday, Derrick White and Jaylen Brown (and picks) for Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.Shams Charania

Yes. They were valued at $7.1B by Forbes recently. The highest value for a franchise is Golden State, said to be worth $8.8B. The Knicks are second at $7.5B.So the Lakers are worth 7?

True they do not own their arena. The arena is 30 years old, so I wonder if something new is on the horizon. The team does have a 20% stake in NBC BostonI am a numbers guy and follow the business side of sports as a hobby.Shams Charania

I can’t figure this out for the life of me. The Celts don’t own or operate their own arena, which is where a significant amount of revenue usually comes from for the rich teams.
The NBA must be drowning in money for this number to make sense.

I’m really happy for him. Whole world hated on him and he’s proving himself to be at least a valid player. Here’s the Bronny update you were all anxiously awaiting.
Career highs in points (17), assists (5), and minutes (30) on 7-10 shooting.
Oh yeah, he was also -36 on the night.
People everywhere, and definitely in this thread, were acting like he was a make a wish kid and he may end up being a rotational nba player after all. Incredible.
Agree. A lot of people seem to forget that we don’t get go control who our parents are. Derozan was great and one of the main reasons they beat the Cavs the night before. Really disappointed to see the Kings rip off a couple wins against the Grizzlies and Cavs only to lose to the Bulls, even if it was a B2B.Bulls beat Bulls-West in Sacramento tonight.
Coby White unconscious in the 2nd half with 31 points. Huerter goes 25-5-7 with 5 threes. Lavine was absolutely putrid for the Kings. At least it's not the Bulls with a miserable to watch iso-ball ball stopping garbage offense based around to a now 35 year old Derozan. I'll never in a million years understand the Kings signing Derozan as a starting player. Made absolutely zero sense. Zero upside because he's not capable of being a complimentary player and can't defend. Should be a 6th man at this stage. Sad how quickly Kings fell off.
Speaking of Derozan, I was rather shocked to see he's only scored 112 fewer points that Steph for his career. Figured the difference would be way bigger.

Jimmy with another triple double for Golden State. They are 16-2 with Jimmy. Heat are 4-16 since the Butler trade.

No, the worst place to be in sports is perpetually winning 17-33 games a year for 15 years. I don't love the Kings' current roster construction but I'll take being able to go and see a competitive game on a given night to trading Sabonis for 2 late firsts and praying for lottery balls for the next 5 years. The bar is on the floor for this franchise. There's a reason DeRozan doesnt/didn't have a market for big money around the league.Bulls beat Bulls-West in Sacramento tonight.

Kings get to be a .500 team with DeRozan & Lavine for the foreseeable future. Old and average. Not good enough to be any threat whatsoever. Not bad enough to be in on premium draft talent. Worst spot to be in in sports.

It's not the worst thing in the world to be a super young team on the come that's moving out of really bad and heading towards really good. You want the young bucks to learn how to win. They have to at some point.

He had a good game last night. I was encouraged by what I saw. The only real missteps were a couple of failed attempts to get fancy with the dibble, going between the legs when he didn't need to, having the ball hit his feet for turnovers. If he can keep improving the way he has over the course of this season for the next couple of years, he'll be a useful player in the league. Regardless, he looked like he belonged out there, and he wasn't playing against scrubs during garbage time. Here’s the Bronny update you were all anxiously awaiting.

Oh yeah, he was also -36 on the night.
That’s quite the hyperbole. He was a top recruit coming out of high school (yeah, some of that was fame but he wouldn’t have been rated as high if he didn’t have the skill set and HS performance to warrant it), whose only college season was derailed because of a serious heart issue. If he was still at USC this year with anywhere near the development he’s shown this year, he’d for sure be talked about as a first rounder in the upcoming draft.
If Bronny had anyone else for a father he would still be riding the pine in college.
