2024 College Football Thread: Ohio State advances to play unbeaten hypothetical SEC team (5 Viewers)

Who are these announcers in the Colorado game
Huard is one of the worst. Tries so hard to be eloquent and intelligent yet is a total d-bag. Former qb/jock babbles endlessly and is always all over whomever the "stars" are. Today's first half and the team Deion love was nauseating, but par for the course. Surprised he still has a gig.

What a hell of a game by Neal. Great story.

Penn State won today because Franklin wasn't scared. He actually went for it multiple times and won the game. We lose these types of games in the past because he would have punted it back and watch the other team march down for the win.

Wow. Army with 11 three and outs all season. They start with the ball and do it twice in a row. ND blocks a punt, now 14-0.

ND looks great so far.

Didnt they play Minn? Probably part of the winning too.

Take 2!

Byes
Oregon or Ohio State
SEC champ
Miami, SMU, or Clemson
Boise

Home game
Oregon or Ohio St
Penn St
Notre Dame
SEC champ loser

Road game
Texas, Georgia, or Bama
Indiana
Tennessee
ACC champ loser or Big 12 champ (if either Tennessee loses to Vandy or Boise loses period, then both and Big 12 winner gets a bye)

Texas A&M comeback or Army miracle could alter course. Any other chaos scenario short of Indiana losing to Purdue? I suppose if both Boise and Indiana lose, then a 3 loss SEC team slips in the back door.

Man is Boise State riding Jeanty hard. Averaging 32 carries a game last 5, by far leading the country. Poor kid is gonna have a lot of tread on those tires in Boise's failed attempt at getting a Heisman in the house. And he's got two more games after this one. In the tent as I type, btw.

FFers are going to love pointing that out.

SEC still has a shot at 5 teams if A&M beats Texas and Texas, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee don't lose again except the SEC championship game. Or if Notre Dame loses.

Wouldn't A&M have to first beat Auburn?
Fowler just said on the Alabama telecast that the Texas-A&M winner goes to the SEC championship. No idea what the tiebreakers are when they all have 2 losses.

But it is conceivable that A&M could have 3 losses, right?

One of them is Notre Dame so wouldn't count in the SEC standings.

If Oklahoma beats Alabama tonight, then I don't know what the heck will happen. Ole Miss back in play? SMU/Miami loser?

Did not have SMU controlling own destiny into the playoff on any of my preseason predictions.

It's amazing. Definitely one of the best stories of this college football season.
Wait, did I read that (graphic) right just now? If Colorado State wins out, they'd be in? They are at Fresno State tonight. Then Utah State at home. So that would put them against BSU in the MW Championship.

Boise is in trouble. They're down 13-10 at Wyoming in the 4th, with Jeanty dinged up on the sideline.

Scratch that (edit), they put him back in and he rips one off, nice. And another one, wow!

Notre Dame now getting penalized for being mean to Army. Sack on 4th down is called roughing when nothing was wrong with it.

Comically bad officiating again this week

Was surprised how early ND put in the backup QB. Was there something wrong with Leonard? I was fast forwarding between plays as I started watching pretty late.

Penn State always plays down to at least one opponent every year and finds a way to lose. In the past, Franklin would make gutless calls that ended up losing us the game. Today though he made 2 big decisions that sealed it.

What in the world was that? Bama probably gonna lose anyway but that VERY late flag was REALLY sketchy
Yeahhhhhh these refs gotta get suspended for that one. Even the ref in the booth who is usually a homer for his former peers was like yea man idk

Game was over already given Army’s offensive style. Might as well get Angeli reps. It’s too bad Carr is still injured or we’d have likely seen him today.

you guys have the Coast Guard next week?
Yup. They were scarlet and gold and call themselves Southern Cal for some reason.

Just imagine how much trash you could talk if Notre Dame didn't actually lose to Northern Illinois Univeraity.
