Your last point is why I don't think ND needs to beat USC, that head to head over A&M looms large, especially considering how strong ND has been playing. I'm sure they covet a home game though.

I think it's just different. In the ten years since I graduated, I think field storming went from something you see when an FCS team beats Michigan to like 3+ times per week. Im sure it's just fun to do and that's life now.

Honestly at this point, given it isn't special, maybe I can stop hearing it be reported. It's just how we end football games now if you beat a higher ranked team.

It's odd but I would rather have SMU than Indiana

I'm excited for when they force ND into a conference, go to top four seeds are champions, and the next 8 are the division winners who lost their champ game plus the next best record in each conference.

Group of five can go so their own thing. We can stop doing the rankings and it is no longer subjective, it's just about wins and losses.

I'm planting my flag now - 5 SEC teams (out of 7 possible SEC/at large spots) in the 12 with 2.5 weeks left to go.

Georgia (wins out, loses in SEC championship), Texas (loses to A&M), Tenn (wins out, not in SEC champ), Alabama (wins out, beats GA in SEC champ), Ole Miss (wins out, not in SEC champ). If I have the scenarios right, ND has to lose to Army and A&M loses to Auburn. Would rather see South Carolina but hard to see how it happens with the SMU/BYU duo.

I don't think USC will beat ND but unless they pummel them I think ND stays in the top 12. Will be curious Tuesday night to see if Clemson and SC are ranked ahead or below Alabama and Ole Miss. The winner of that game will get another quality win where Alabama and Ole Miss play teams with losing records this week. I think the SMU/Miami loser has the last spot as of today but if that game is a blowout, I doubt the loser keeps that spot.

I don't see A&M beating both Texas and UGA back to back. Both are beatable but I don't think A&M is that good either. They didn't look it last night in Auburn.

Alabama still has the 12th best odds to make the playoffs. I know to expect this with the SEC chest thumping, but there has to be some deserving teams in that area with a legitimate case over a 3 loss team with two losses to unranked teams.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think in this 10-12 area most years is when we see the SEC/B1G leverage come in.
