2024 College Football Thread: Ohio State advances to play unbeaten hypothetical SEC team (3 Viewers)

Pretty much chalk in the FCS Championship through two rounds. North Dakota St., South Dakota and South Dakota St all advanced today, continuing the historical Dakota FCS dominance.

Klubnik apparently set a record with 3 passing TDs in the 1st quarter. Almost had 4 and probably starts the 2nd with another TD. SMU looking overmatched.

The boys have struggled mightily in the 3rd Q this year (until last week). So while the defense has been big all year, the offense can come out for the second half a bit flat. I think it's far from over.

Yeah the gimmicks are really surprising. I expect that from Maryland, but not PSU. But glad to see the defense is ready for it.

My prediction if SMU doesn't get more competitive than this is:
1 - Oregon
2 - Georgia
3 - Boise
4 - Arizona St
5 - Texas vs 12- Clemson
6- ND vs 11- Alabama
7- Penn St vs 10- Indiana
8- Ohio St vs 9 - Tennessee

I can see Ohio St being ahead of Penn St because of their H2H but we don't need an Ohio St-Indiana rematch.

This is money

I know I am biased but Oregon is by far the best team in the country. That said, in playoffs all teams are good and one off game and they can be out.

Huh. I would say most of these teams are hot garbage that don't deserve to play for a title. Boise State we'll see, but the rest are blech. If Oregon is actually good they'll cakewalk through this.

What’s the purpose of the showing the 2 point conversion and then delay of game?
Announce your presence with authority.
They showed two point, went back to kick the one point and received delay of game. Not sure how that shows dominance, presence and authority?

Doesn’t look like the Ducks need any help with showing their dominance. They are looking fast!
Eppy Calvin Nook Laloosh quote but I'm dating myself
Ok meat

If PSU keeps this close, I could see your 6 and 7 matchups flipping. ND vs. Indiana being an in-state thing could be a desirable matchup for the committee and sets up a second round matchup for Georgia for the winner there.

Nearly every single ND fan right now believes it's Alabama no matter what happens what number we get. If we slide to 7, they find a way to bring Bama to 10.

Smu is so bad
And yet the SEC haters will cry when SMU lands below Bama in the final rankings
Alabama doesn't exactly deserve a playoff spot. I don't think SMU should be penalized for tonight while Alabama sits home because they weren't good enough to get into their championship game.
Is it (playoff selection) about the most deserving teams or the best teams?
Whatever the committee decides it is this year.

Haha true. I just mean if you have an opinion you should be able to explain why. Too much of having it both ways all year IMO.
