The closer we get to the game the more it feels like we are really going to handle the Rams on Sunday pretty easily.
Saquon over/under 151.5
I think the cover is a solid bet. The U/O seems to be right on the button to me. I lean towards the over but, especially if there’s snow, could see the under. Is this where we mock Eagles fans to show them how much better we, as people, are?
Anyhoo... Philly -6 and over 43.5. Any reasons not to have those two prongs in a parlay this weekend. I know I'll be on edge all game so the numbers certainly feel right but nerve-wracking.
i have heard the argument that if you remove Saquan's 2 70-yard TDs it would have been more of an average day. That doesn't hold up though. People talk about the Rams line, but the strength of that line is on the edges, and is in pass rush. The Rams DTs are not wonderful, and the last time they met the Eagles OL was getting to the LBers quickly, thus making it easy for Saquan to get at least 5 yards. The closer we get to the game the more it feels like we are really going to handle the Rams on Sunday pretty easily.

I've always hated that argument. On the flip side, can I ignore any rushes for a loss or no gain to prove a point? That isn't something that can be fixed all of a sudden. Sunday will tell, but I think Saquan will get his again. I also forgot how dominating AJ Brown was that game, he was toying with the Rams DBs

and it seemed like, against their super fast edge rushers, he kept calling those long, slow developing complex routes that took so long, by the time the WR was where he was supposed to be Darnold was eating turf.i have heard the argument that if you remove Saquan's 2 70-yard TDs it would have been more of an average day. That's the problem. If you move a safety up to stop the run you have to man up on the WRs, not an easy thing to do with Philly. It makes it all the more baffling that Minnesota didn't employ a run heavy offense to start the game and get LA to move a safety up so their WRs could get open faster. They didn't do that and Darnold had to hold the ball longer allowing the Rams DL to get pressure. When Minny ran, they were getting 5 yards a pop. People who put KOC ahead of Nick Sirianni in that coaching thread should really reconsider that opinion, he had bad game plans in back-to-back weeks.
wind looks relatively calm in the forecast. i do question the Rams ability to score out in the cold against this stout defense. our secondary will be tested and i expect them to continue to step up as they have all year. officiating has been generally even in our games, so hopefully that also continues. i can see Rams airing it out quite a bit and that's when weird subjective flags tend to be thrown against the defense. (on any defense, not just the eagles, for the post police.)Snow. The over might be affected by it.Anyhoo... Philly -6 and over 43.5. Any reasons not to have those two prongs in a parlay this weekend. There was a unique atrociousness about the whole spectacle that him being a star made it all the worse that he wanted to be a star and the whole thing just folds in on itself like a stinking mass of dead animal that buzzards circle.
Kind of like Philly fans on a merry-go-round.
They also give you the easiest route to making the Super Bowl. There are so many reasons to root for Washington on Saturday, its going to be a fun weekend.
If they win and we win, the spectacle of it all potentially will be TOO MUCH FUN.
For me, its just too much fun to be able to end a rival's season. Dallas could have given us this 2 years ago but choked.
Oh yeah, long list of why it would be fun, that being numero uno. Unlikely to happen, but one can dream! They also give you the easiest route to making the Super Bowl. There are so many reasons to root for Washington on Saturday, its going to be a fun weekend.

One game at a time.
I read an article somewhere a few days ago that talked about how well McVay does in scripting the first couple of drives for the offense and then their first drive of the second half. I think that's what worries me the most, a fast start by the Rams and the Eagles starting really slow as they did most of the season. If the Rams get an early 14 - 0 or 14 -3 lead I worry about the Eagles getting away from the running game.

If you think the Eagles start slow, you should see the Rams splits.

ETA: Figured might as well do all the quarters.
He does - at least the first series, but he then kind of repeats the same stuff but dresses it up differently. McVay has not had much success against the Fangio scheme over his career.I read an article somewhere a few days ago that talked about how well McVay does in scripting the first couple of drives for the offense and then their first drive of the second half. I'm thinking this is more like a game they might score first b/c we always defer, then eventually just grind it out on them. The worse the weather, the worse for them. I got someone getting a Pick 6 in this one when the Rams are trying to play catch up later, in my personal crystal ball predictionsSo looking at my numbers I'll try and predict how the game will go.
1st quarter: Game tied 3-3
2nd quarter: Eagles lead 13-6
3rd quarter: Eagles lead 20-13
4th quarter: Eagles lead 30-20.

Dome teams have struggled in cold weather playoff games, especially when playing outdoors in temperatures below 32°F.
Explanation
- In the past 20 years, dome teams have played outdoors in sub-30°F playoff games nine times, losing by over 10 points per game.

- When dome teams travel to play in playoff games with temperatures below 32°F, they have an 11-13-1 record against the spread.

- In the past two decades, betting on the over in playoff games with temperatures below 25°F and an over/under of 45 points or fewer produced a 14-4-1 record.

- The two wins for dome teams in sub-30°F playoff games were in 2014 for the Saints in Philly and in 2005 for the Vikings in Green Bay.

I would not take the over. Rams are a ball control team on offense and so are the eagles. The way the rams play should play into fangios hands of contain contain contain, let them get a few yards at a time, which Mcvay will probably be happy with. They can’t go downfield very well (from what I’ve seen). I could easily see another 22-10 game. I probably would bet the -6.5 though. Is this where we mock Eagles fans to show them how much better we, as people, are?

Judging his ability and saying silly things on tv or space x to get ratings or clicks aren't the same things. And Acho knows this and obviously is one of the folks that live on multiple sides of the fence of Jalen Hurts criticism. The best thing is Jalen is one of the most dgaf guys I've ever seen. For a QB its hilarious to me in a lot of momentsEmmanuel Acho with a great segment on Jalen Hurts.
[paraphrase]: We need to change the way we evaluate Jalen Hurts. Albert Einstein said if you judge a fish by his ability to climb a tree you'll always think he's stupid. We need to stop judging Jalen Hurts by his ability to get a lot of passing yards or target AJ Brown and start judging on his ability to win games.
I think the problem with Hurts isn’t Hurts himself but people who refuse to see he’s probably never will be elite. He’s a top 10-15 QB ability wise depending on Consistency sneak into the top 10. Problem is this isn’t saying Hurts sucks and some fans need to look at this better and realize realistic things here.Judging his ability and saying silly things on tv or space x to get ratings or clicks aren't the same things. I keep hearing that Herbert is elite. Jordan Love and Burrow too. Elite, in my opinion, is winning games. There were years that Brady had terrible stats but won games. Jalen hasn't lost a game he's played since week four of this year. That's elite.
I agree. My point is, where's Burrow? Where's Herbert? I think Burrow is a killer and pound for pound maybe the best QB in the league. He's got similar/maybe better weapons than Jalen. Why is he in Cabo with a Coco-Loco and Jalen is prepping for a game in mid-January? Is it luck or is it because Jalen actually IS elite, just not in the 6'-5"-rocket arm-slides-up-in-the-pocket stereotypical view that we've all assumed is the only option?I keep hearing that Herbert is elite. Agreed. I think maybe 29 out of 32 teams would trade their QB straight up for Burrow today (in a heartbeat). He’s not even remotely the issue in Cincy. Agree about Herbert as well.I keep hearing that Herbert is elite. Jordan Love and Burrow too. Elite, in my opinion, is winning games. There were years that Brady had terrible stats but won games. I guess I don't really give a ****. I want to win a Super Bowl. Jalen's abilities in the run game makes everything else click in this offense. When he doesn't turn the ball over, they basically never lose. He had an outlier year last year with 15 ints. Since the bye week this year he's thrown 1 and they basically never lose. So yeah I guess he's elite, without the elite arm.Hurts will probly end up with a better post season record than Marino. You think he’s better than Marino?I agree. My point is, where's Burrow? Aikman has 3 rings. You think he was an elite QB?
ok. I don't disagree. No QB has an impact on the defense of their own team so sub out Jalen with anyone and our defense is still top notch. But as good as Saquon is, Jalen is a key factor in his record setting year. Defenses have to pay attention to Jalen and it makes everything else click-its one of the reasons Saquon gets like 3.5 yards before contact.. Put it this way, you put Herbert or Burrow back there, our passing game is almost certainly better. But I guarantee our run game is worse-maybe way worse. How did Saquon do after Jalen got injured in Washington? He had a break away TD run and then got stuffed for the rest for the game.Jalen hasn't lost a game he's played since week four of this year.
i dont want to keep harping on our own QB who is really really good, but let's get real here, that stat isn't possible with the 2023 roster, without Saquon and Fangio. 2024 season belongs to all three equally.

You're really going to be cheering for Detroit over Washington tomorrow?I will be bitterly disappointed if we do not get PHI @ DET in the NFCCG. This is a game that has been brewing all season and should be an epic one.
As fans, we deserve this game. I was worried it might not happen because of all the injuries to DET, but they are a tough, physical “next-man-up” team and have gotten some key Defensive players back.
I hope we get that match up, but it means the Eagles and Lions have to do the needful and win this weekend.

And this is where I think people have an issue on where to put Hurts. It’s ok to say he’d struggle on these teams. I think Howie and Lurie deserve a ton of credit for figure out who Hurts was early on. A guy who needs better talent around him or he struggles. He’d also Struggle in NE. He’d have issues playing for the Jets and Browns. Probably no different in Dal, Sea. Would have major issues in NYG or Chi.I agree. My point is, where's Burrow? Where's Herbert? Well if you are asking me its because their teams arent very good. Burrow has chase, higgins and that one good dlineman. Rest of the team is just guys. No oline. Avg rbs. Defense blows
Chargers have a bunch of players but no wrs outside of 1 rookie. Their rbs are pretty avg to me too. Dline pretty good. Avg to bad oline.
Jalen would struggle mightly on these teams.
I Iove him but just saying.
