I think the cover is a solid bet. The U/O seems to be right on the button to me. I lean towards the over but, especially if there’s snow, could see the under.

That's the problem. If you move a safety up to stop the run you have to man up on the WRs, not an easy thing to do with Philly. It makes it all the more baffling that Minnesota didn't employ a run heavy offense to start the game and get LA to move a safety up so their WRs could get open faster. They didn't do that and Darnold had to hold the ball longer allowing the Rams DL to get pressure. When Minny ran, they were getting 5 yards a pop. People who put KOC ahead of Nick Sirianni in that coaching thread should really reconsider that opinion, he had bad game plans in back-to-back weeks.

wind looks relatively calm in the forecast. i do question the Rams ability to score out in the cold against this stout defense. our secondary will be tested and i expect them to continue to step up as they have all year. officiating has been generally even in our games, so hopefully that also continues. i can see Rams airing it out quite a bit and that's when weird subjective flags tend to be thrown against the defense. (on any defense, not just the eagles, for the post police.)

I will be bitterly disappointed if we do not get PHI @ DET in the NFCCG. This is a game that has been brewing all season and should be an epic one.

As fans, we deserve this game. I was worried it might not happen because of all the injuries to DET, but they are a tough, physical “next-man-up” team and have gotten some key Defensive players back.

I hope we get that match up, but it means the Eagles and Lions have to do the needful and win this weekend.

He does - at least the first series, but he then kind of repeats the same stuff but dresses it up differently. McVay has not had much success against the Fangio scheme over his career.

One of the main reasons he lost the Super Bowl to the Patriot was b/c Bill Belichick stole what Fangio did to McVay earlier in that season when Fangio was w Chicago.

I would not take the over. Rams are a ball control team on offense and so are the eagles. The way the rams play should play into fangios hands of contain contain contain, let them get a few yards at a time, which Mcvay will probably be happy with. They can’t go downfield very well (from what I’ve seen). I could easily see another 22-10 game. I probably would bet the -6.5 though.

I think the problem with Hurts isn’t Hurts himself but people who refuse to see he’s probably never will be elite. He’s a top 10-15 QB ability wise depending on Consistency sneak into the top 10. Agreed. I think maybe 29 out of 32 teams would trade their QB straight up for Burrow today (in a heartbeat). He’s not even remotely the issue in Cincy. Agree about Herbert as well.

Well if you are asking me its because their teams arent very good. Burrow has chase, higgins and that one good dlineman. Rest of the team is just guys. No oline. Avg rbs. Defense blows

Chargers have a bunch of players but no wrs outside of 1 rookie. Their rbs are pretty avg to me too. Dline pretty good. Avg to bad oline.

Jalen would struggle mightly on these teams.

ok. I don't disagree. No QB has an impact on the defense of their own team so sub out Jalen with anyone and our defense is still top notch. But as good as Saquon is, Jalen is a key factor in his record setting year. Defenses have to pay attention to Jalen and it makes everything else click-its one of the reasons Saquon gets like 3.5 yards before contact.. Put it this way, you put Herbert or Burrow back there, our passing game is almost certainly better. But I guarantee our run game is worse-maybe way worse. How did Saquon do after Jalen got injured in Washington? He had a break away TD run and then got stuffed for the rest for the game.

For my money, when we're playing in January and have the possibility of traveling for the NFCCG, I'm rolling with strong defense and a killer rushing attack.

exactly. But the Eagles fan in you should come first. I'd expect to be +4 @ Detroit and -4 vs Washington. That's an enormous 8 point difference.

I keep hearing that Herbert is elite. Jordan Love and Burrow too. Elite, in my opinion, is winning games. There were years that Brady had terrible stats but won games. Jalen hasn't lost a game he's played since week four of this year. That's elite.

I agree. My point is, where's Burrow? Where's Herbert? I think Burrow is a killer and pound for pound maybe the best QB in the league. He's got similar/maybe better weapons than Jalen. Why is he in Cabo with a Coco-Loco and Jalen is prepping for a game in mid-January? Is it luck or is it because Jalen actually IS elite, just not in the 6'-5"-rocket arm-slides-up-in-the-pocket stereotypical view that we've all assumed is the only option?

It's because Burrow doesn't play defense. This isn't hard.

Well if you are asking me its because their teams arent very good. Burrow has chase, higgins and that one good dlineman. Rest of the team is just guys. No oline. Avg rbs. Defense blows

Chargers have a bunch of players but no wrs outside of 1 rookie. Their rbs are pretty avg to me too. Dline pretty good. Avg to bad oline.

Jalen would struggle mightly on these teams.

And this is where I think people have an issue on where to put Hurts. It’s ok to say he’d struggle on these teams. I think Howie and Lurie deserve a ton of credit for figure out who Hurts was early on. A guy who needs better talent around him or he struggles. He’d also Struggle in NE. He’d have issues playing for the Jets and Browns. Probably no different in Dal, Sea. Would have major issues in NYG or Chi.
