2024 Philadelphia Eagles - First one was for the fans. This one was for the team. Next one is for the legacy. (20 Viewers)

Since it's that time of year for the trolls to come out of the walls to harass us Eagles fans, here are a few tips:
DO: Literally ignore them, or
DO: Click on their user name on their post, then click "Ignore"
DON'T: Continue to reply to them until you've convinced them to see the error of their ways.
:argue::stirspot::pokey::deadhorse:

:hifive:
But cmon man we have SO MUCH nonsense to choose from:

Eagles have the easiest schedule!
Nick Sirianni - I mean, besides 10 game winning streaks and going to the playoffs every year and the Super Bowl every other year - what does he even do?
MUST BE NICE TO JUST HAND IT OFF TO SAQUON!
Also - good luck with Kellen Moore and running the ball. HE WON'T DO IT!
AJ BROWN IS A TEAM CANCER
Jalen Carter is a murderer!
Jalen Hurts is a running back (but don't mention the fact a running back destroyed my team)

I only got 2 folks on ignore and one claims to be an Eagles fan. This is fun

This list feels like the final rap battle in 8 Mile when Eminem beats the Falcon / Fake Captain America.

He went to Cranbrook. That’s a private school

“The Saints are flying to Philadelphia tonight to interview Kellen Moore for the head coaching job, per sources.

They will interview him tonight.”
Really hope we don't lose him. New co-ordinators usually need a year to get used to the system, I don't want to have a brand new one AGAIN next year.

Why not just do it when the Eagles fly to New Orleans this week?

Why not just do another zoom?
He’s not Jonathon Gannon that’s why

Why interview for that job is the better question.
millions of dollars?
Maybe. According to this, he's already pulling in $2.5 million (third highest paid OC in the NFL). If I were him I would try to win the Super Bowl this year, assume that another year of this offense is going to only do great things (upping your desirability to other teams), and see what job openings are available at the end of next season. Almost guaranteed to have better options next year.
That makes logical sense but if NO throws $15m a year at him, how's he going to turn that down?
There’s reason for tiri ing that down if you got a family etc. I don’t know who it was but remember hearing story of a scout during the Reid era turning down a pretty big promotion and higher pay. Never got an oppurtunity again after that but he did care. Why? His kid was really sick and was at CHOP which was the best thing for his kid at the time. I don’t think the guy had any regrets. Had a rare bone disease at the time and almost died from it. His kid survived. Had he moved he’s most likely burying a child.

I know it’s an extreme but guys can find plenty of reason not to move. Hardly anyone wants to take the jaguars job because GM Trent Balke is a clown and backstabber. Not trusted by many in caching college or pro.

Like Tillman's "Peanut Punch" is a 60+ TD now a "Saquon Score"?

He has the most 60+ TDs in a season (7), most in a single post-season (3) and total post-season (3) and is second-most all-time (11, to AP's 15.)

Putting together a Saquon MVP bet...

150+ rush yards
2+ TDs
Philly moneyline
Over 49.5

Currently +1413

Thoughts?

I'd be hesitant on the over with so much on Barkley. If that 150 is on 25 carries that's a lot of game clock. I'd either chop the over and take the $700 payout or add in a Mahommes over TDs or Yds to support the over and bump the payout.

I heard Jalen Carter was conceived in the back of the limo as Ray Lewis was stabbing that guy to death

Question - which team had more talent? 2023 or 2025 SB team?

I thought our 2023 roster was the best Eagles team I had ever seen. I had us +10 points in that game.

Roster wise, which SB team do you like better? This one or 2023?

PS - DO NOT including coaching, just players.

For me its this one. Historic running game + #1 overall defense is still a great recipe to winning NFL Championships.

Fun stat: The Eagles have played 5 games against top 10 rushing defenses this year.

In those games, the Eagles have averaged 139.4 YPG - this stat alone would have them ranked as the 8th best rushing attack in the league.

The defense is better. Cox was a great player, but Jalen Carter is better. The DEs I give the edge to 2022, because BG, Reddick and Sweat had good years. Nolan Smith has really come on, though so it's close. The LB corp is better, no knock on Edwards and White. The secondary is better because Mitchell is the shutdown corner we thought Bradberry was and DeJean is loads better than Maddox.

Offense is tougher. Jurgens has adequately replaced Kelce, but there is still a step down. Bechton v Seumalo is close too. Saquon is light-years better than Sanders and Dotson v. Watkins is a who cares. I prefer 2024, but 2022 was still really good. It's close.

Now, what do you prefer more:

A waterlogged grassy field

or

A dry turf

I say this tongue in cheek and all, but I think this aspect is going to have such a huge effect to benefit the Eagles.

Well for 2022, a dry turf. For the 2024 Eagles, it doesn't matter. Another reason they're better, they can dominate on any type of surface.

I had us +10 points in that game.

:lmao:

So did my brother. I gave him the same reaction, and it was at the time.

You're better this year. Hurts was wildly overrated and you had Miles Sanders as your RB. The emphasis within the roster (how it's used) and the talent is better and more suited to your squad as constructed. I know you said no coaching, but you can't really do that. So much of the game is deployment and specialization that it trumps overall roster talent.

But you were not +10 on KC that year. Not even close.

This year, you're closer to them than you were, and you're probably better. This is the year to think about +10, although their WR corps is two to three times as good as it was back then. They had no WRs to speak of besides Kelce. Now they have Worthy, Hopkins, and Brown. That's light years beyond what they were even if it's not that good. But Kelce has fallen off the cliff, so maybe that nets out.

Who knows? But you're better this year comparatively than the last time.

This is definitely gonna be one of the keys to the game. We won’t man up often agains KCC. Vic will have to get creative dropping guys back into coverage and cheating up Safety help to over/under the middle of the field, specifically for Kelce.

My worry is that Mahomes sees those gaps and uses his legs to kill us. If I were a betting man, I’d use Mahomes rushes as over 6.5 as a parlay teaser.

Noah Gray is the guy to watch out for.

Sneaky good point. But you simply cannot ignore Kelce in the Superb Owl.

Gray is good, but he definitely benefits from the attention Kelce still garners.

I’m bored and procrastinating, so I’m actually waiting for Nick’s presser to start. Even though I know it will tell us nothing useable.

He will say “tough” and “love” and “relationships” at least 33 times. And we’ll have to wait and see on Cam and Landon.

That's how you get better odds though. I love it. Go big or go home.
yep. I hit on a few bets last week, the biggest of which was a +4100, 6 legger:

Eagles -6
Hurts 2 TD's
Goedert 25 yards
Terry TD
Saquon TD
over 47.5

I have some additional capital to work with this week so I'll be pressing my luck a lot I'm guessing.

Haven't seen it. I'll check it out later. Always in for good stand-up.

Look up Gilly and Keeves on youtube. It’s not stand-up, it’s sketches. But some of them are on par with the Chappelle Show.

I said in '22 that that was the best Eagles team I've ever seen. That included '04 and '17. I gotta be honest, this team is better and its not really close. The consistency on the Oline, the upgrade from Miles to Saquon and generally the defense as a whole just jump out. The only tick marks that the '22 team get IMO are a better version of Jake Elliot (could be huge) and the Dline was just insane (although the turf gods nullified that for the actual SB).

I wish they should change the way coordinators are poached altogether. Put them on contracts. No coordinator should be poachable after a single year. Three year minimum before they're free game. If they wanna go interview for a head coach job, they have to quit and pay a fine first

Meh. I disagree. This is these guys livelihood and they have to strike when the irons hot. What they should do away with though is being allowed to interview while your team is still in contention. I know formally a team has to give permission to interview but no owner is going to say no because they want to be able to do the same in the future if necessary.

They should just treat it like free agency. No one can make moves until the official start of coaching free agency which would be the week after the Super Bowl. Just eliminate the interviewing/searching process from the playoffs. It frankly ****ed us in '22 because we couldn't do anything until the Super Bowl was over and by then, not only did we lose both coordinators but the gene pool of available talent had already been picked clean (we'd have had Fangio last year if Gannon had been up front about his plans to leave.) Anyone think this ****ing team would have melted down the way it did last year if Fangio was running the defense instead of Desai and pencil-boy!?!?

HOw about a compromise then? If you poach one after he's been there one year, you give a 2nd, 2 years a 4th. The team getting poached should get some sort of compensation.

And yes, while these guys should be able to get promotions, they also sign contracts. They do make some commitments
