Ya know I'm getting a lot of "wow Spags is such a great coach" and I have to push back on that. He is a good coach, when given the talent, but this guy also was the DC that set the record for most yards in a season ever in 2012 w the Saints, and then in 2016 reset that same record with the Giants lol.

Going back 10 years I see the 3 worst defenses Fangio has coached to be 21st, 15th and 14th (and those last 2 were his first 2 years with the Bears, his last 2 they finished 10th and 3rd).

I'm not really worried about Spags really scheming a great game plan in all honesty, he just seems to either have players or not have players. I expect us to be able to exploit this.

They play disciplined football and fantastic situational football. I think the Eagles can run on the Chiefs, and if they try to sell out to stop the run- they’ll get killed: by Saquon and Jalen both.

Listening to Kelce on the radio yesterday he said something that I could not believe. He was talking about the ‘22 Super Bowl and mentioned in passing that the team didn’t switch cleats at halftime. WHAT!??!?

Literally every person watching that game IN THE MOMENT could tell that the field was ****ed up. That line getting no pressure and no sacks was probably the biggest reason for us losing. I'd say the 2013 Seahawks are the best on paper team in recent history, they lost 3 games all year, by a combined 15 points. The 2024 Eagles (with 3 losses that all happened when one of Hurts/AJ was out) have some similarities to them, with the elite defense, elite RB, and a QB who is underrated, and often wins with his legs. Philly has a better OL than those Seahawks did, though I'd argue Russ>>Hurts. Eagles pass catchers are better, but Baldwin/Tate was certainly nothing to sneeze at. Seahawks D was better, especially in the secondary (I could argue the Legion of Boom is in the conversation for the best secondary ever) and they shut down the mighty Peyton Manning during the season he broke every single season counting record and ran away with MVP. I think its very possible the Eagles can do something along the same lines (not to a 43-8 level) to the mighty Mahomes.

Overall 2004 was a better roster in terms of star talent at the time. Talent/potential wise with age this roster is better. Outside of WR the 04 roster was loaded especially with the depth it had.

I think if the 2022 Super Bowl was played on good field conditions, the Eagles win that game. I think this 2024 team is way better than the 2022 team.

Agreed, and I'm not convinced that this year's KC team is as good as that '22 team.

Also, for all the Spags talk, lets not forget that this Eagles team, with pretty much the same players on offense, put up 35 points on this KC defense two years ago. The biggest differences between those two teams were Kelce instead of Cam (seems negligible, as amazing as that is), Seumalo instead of Becton (upgrade to this year's team IMO), Quez instead of Jahan Dotson (meh although Quez had a brutal drop in the Super Bowl) and Miles instead of Saquon, lol. I'll let people make their own determination as to what kind of impact that change has on the team.

Hurts had a fumble early in 2nd QTR that went back for a TD that changed momentum, we weren’t as aggressive in offensive play calling as we are, we traded FGs with KC so they could get TDs and our special teams coach kicked it to a player who our then OC had when he was OC at college and told him don’t do that. Those were all bigger factors. AJ Brown even said in an interview when they took the FG in the 3rd QTR instead of being aggressive and going for it the confidence in the team went way down and they were prepared to lose.

Please stop with this. You've been harping on that for two years and it simply isn't true. After the fumble, they immediately scored another TD and had a 10 point lead at the half. They lost because the defense gave up literally every yard possible in the second half. Full stop.

I would say our biggest weakness is Hurts decision making. Also, Kellen Moore seems to call some overly developing plays at times which doesn help.

AR on the other hand doesn't seem to make any play calling mistakes.
