*** 2024 Pittsburgh Steelers: limping towards the playoffs (16 Viewers)

Slowing down JK Dobbins is a big test.

Fields has been impressive running this offense. Week 2 penalties kept it from being a gem. Pickens had his way with the mighty Surtain. Clearly open anytime he is singled up. Good things are coming.

Against the Raiders and Panthers J.K. Dobbins averaged 9.9 years a carry. Over the years when he was healthy, he did pretty good in yards per carry. I think a lot of teams slept on him. I don't think he will average 9.9 yards a carry against the Steeler's I just don't see it happening. Already in the running for comeback player of the year.

I do see Justin Fields taking a step forward further cementing his hold on the starting position.

1 TD in 2 games is impressive? I'm not seeing much difference between this and a Kenny Pickett led team.

I think it's going to be very difficult for the Bolts to win B2B road games flying cross country, maybe they went straight to Pittsburgh, does anyone really know?
Both teams are surprises at 2-0 IMHO, i'm looking forward to a good ole fashion smash mouth football game
I don't believe the Bolts have seen a defense as good as Pittsburgh which is why i am picking the Steelers in a low scoring but hard hitting and entertaining game

1st team to 20 wins IMO
The Steelers at 3-0 possibly, don't think many were predicting that to happen
Bolts either for that matter, i thought Harbaugh was clearing the field Year 1 and start overhauling but they are winning and their OL is pretty dang good

:bs: Kenny is one of the worst quarterbacks in NFL history. People making statements like that are fishing in an empty swimming pool.

I guess this is how we respond now without a 😂 emojis.

Blick was obviously looking to stir up a hornet's nest pertaining to KP. I can't help but like Grid71's thought process.

If Justin Herbert doesn't play due to a high ankle sprain expect the Steeler's offense to be ultra conservative and force Justin into handing off the ball a lot.

Chargers stayed on the east coast all week.

Between your backup qb (so far) and theirs...fire up your grills and let the beers flow. It's gonna be ugly. 1 team wants to give it away and the other finds ways to give it away. Gotta go with the defense here. Steelers win in a war of attrition.

I'll just respond with facts.

First, I said I don’t see much difference in the TEAM going from Kenny to Fields. Can’t sustain drives, can’t score TDs, winning in defense. Let’s pray TJ stay healthy.

The NFL told us all we needed to know. No one wanted him. The Steelers paid a 6th round pick (that could become a 4th) for Fields. I'd argue that Philly paid more for Pickett (two 7ths and round 3/4 swap).

Through two games he's 12 of 17, 156 yds passing, 57 yards rushing, 0 TDs and 13 of 20, 117 yards passing, 1 TD, 27 yards rushing. So far he is 29th in pass yards, 25th in yards/attempt, 13th in comp %, 16th in QBR across all QBs. These are not even average QB stats and from impressive.

The best thing he's doing is not turning the ball over. Kenny didn't either.

I'm certainly not saying Pickett is a good QB. Fields isn't either. Who knows, lots of QBs breakout after their 4th season in the league as a starter. Maybe he will as well. Let's hope.

I think Fautanu injury is gonna be a big loss and Herbert plays. Broderick can’t stop Bosa with his bum right arm, and Mack gives Moore some problems. LA OTs have a better game (not as perfect as they have been) than Pitt OTs have vs Bosa - even with Bosa less than 100% - and Mack. Bolts win 20-16. Steelers and Chargers both open up the passing game when running games get shut down, and I like LA’s passing game and pass pro better. Home opening crowd makes it close, but a late TD for LA wins it. Fields makes a good showing but also makes an untimely turnover that costs the game, putting Russ in position to show us that he is no better than Fields over the following few games, but holding down the starting spot until late in the season.

Just a know-nothing know-it-all’s perspective. What do y’all think? Game predictions? This is a tough game to pick, not tough to predict. Both teams are so similar.

2 first round pics and we still can’t get a RT.

Jones needs to get his **** together. He looks so slow doing anything. Is he a bust already?

I think Jones is just playing injured. He was much better last year and his arm has kept him from being able to contain the edge and deliver a good punch.
Issue is his head not his elbow.

He was not good last year either. He wasn't this bad, but he wasn't good.

Joe Alt got beat by TJ had to hold him and got the holding penalty. Makes me wonder if your starting QB is playing with a high ankle sprain so do you at times take the holding penalty.

3c:s great point pertaining to Broderick. If you told me he started and didn't have a penalty or get called out by the broadcasters in a negative light id of said your crazy. But like Leroy said the other day. Broderick the past week has said all the right things. Hopefully his shoulder keeps getting netter

Van Jefferson or should I say moving on down Jefferson unfortunately had a knee injury in today's game and was ruled out. Scotty Miller had a few nice catches. With Roman Wilson around the corner getting healthier. WR group should get better. Plus Calvin Austin had a nice catch for a 55 yard TD. Up until that point I thought he was going for the record for fair catches on kick returns and punt returns.

Lets not get too nutso about Herbig being better than Highsmith yet. I 🥰 Herbie, but fear he'd be exposed a bit as a full-timer in coverage and trying to stop the run.

Guy knows how to rush the passer though and that's huge, even as "just" the top rotational guy.

Herbig was impressive today.

No team has 3 better OLBs than the Steelers.

Probably not when their top 3 are all healthy.

Highsmith gets jobbed more tha he should, cuz he's opposite TJ, but for a guy who got drafted as an "athlete" from a non-elite program he's turned himself into a pretty good all around Edge defender

Hopefully the Highsmith injury isn’t too serious. This defense could be special. They play within their means on offense and this could be a very good season. Schedule doesn’t look so crazy tough anymore.

Oh, theyll probably win their 9 or 10 games, even if the qb play totally implodes. D is too good.

My mind hasnt been changed overall: This O it's not how you can win championships in today's NFL, and would get "Mahomes'd" in the playoffs.
