2025 Buffalo Bills (1 Viewer)

A ton of this is on Allen. He should have had 3 picks last night and the fumble was completely on him. Terrible job on the handoff. He came nowhere near making enough big plays to offset his killer turnovers. I know everyone wants to love Josh but c’mon

There was one pass he sailed into the middle of the field (and I want to say it was an important third down?) that was maybe the worst pass I've seen this year. He looks broken 50% of the time.

@minakimes
Bills offense thru week 10:

3rd in DVOA
1st in success rate
3rd in EPA/play
4th in QBR
3rd in yds/play
2nd in 3rd down conversion %
3rd in red zone efficiency

Scapegoat Dorsey
This just shows you how good Josh Allen is at carrying this team and overcoming ****ty odds

Even the pass off of Davis' hands???

Oof. This feels like a bit of a kick in the nuts, especially knowing that Buffalo’s defense would likely still be elite if not for all the injuries and their W/L record could be completely different:

“When you study the Chiefs they have been carried by their defense the last 5 weeks… the offense has been worse than the Bills…”

Anyone expect anything different with Brady calling the plays? Or just more of the same?
You can only change so much during a week. Though it would make a big difference if they just use more motion before/at the snap and run Allen.

And I know it’s fashionable to just blame the offense and even to focus on the turnovers, but it’s tough to win the turnover battle when your defense has only created 1 turnover in 5 weeks. I don’t really expect that to change either because they simply don’t have any playmakers at LB/DB outside of Bernard who are actually threats to do that. Well, maybe Rasul Douglas now though he’s still so new in the system.

Bills scored 32 - most points given up by the Jets this season. Cowboys in Week 2 scored 30.

And we beat the Jets, and the Jets beat the Eagles - so next week is a guaranteed win, right?

This is a wasted season, but I'm looking forward to this offense with Cook and Shakir and Kincaid next year. They finally have a good set of weapons.
I wouldn’t say a wasted season at all. If we sneak into the playoffs (which isn’t that unlikely) then we’ll be a team no one wants to face. Anything can happen in the playoffs.

Screw it. I hope McDermott and Belichick both get fired this offseason and the Bills hire Belichick. He’s proven he can win with an elite QB and a few good pieces on defense. Buffalo would almost be an ideal spot for him to grind out some more wins, win another title, and prove that it wasn’t just all on Brady. What would either side have to lose?

Was at the game last night with my son, his first bills game. He was heartbroken, told him get used to it buddy this is the life of a bills fan

These narratives parrotted in the media are silly

Josh Allen is a turnover machine with 15

Jalen hurts is great with 14

The slow death zone scheme late in games needs to be abandoned

There have been at least 3 games this year (NE,den, eagles) where the offense gives the defense the lead and the defense cannot make a stop.

A couple years ago if I had my choice of any QB I wanted Allen or Mahomes. Now Allen is not in the picture.

Allen as a runner is unstoppable as we have seen so many times. As a dependable passer he is way too erratic. Allen has no touch on the ball. From 10 yards away he is zipping it 80MPH in the rain.

Plus he breaks out of the pocket way too soon at times so the routes the WRs are running are irrelevant, it is like playground ball. Saw a play last night where the WRs were almost running into each other when Allen broke the pocket too soon. This is probably why Diggs is always pissed off.

That is OK when needed like Mahomes does, but not at the rate Allen does it.

Kind of weird thing to say after last night's game, but okay.

That's a tough loss. As an Eagles fan, I'm certainly happy and proud of the effort the Birds showed in the second half, the adjustments they made etc.

But I'll be honest, when you guys had 20 seconds left I thought we'd probably lose. Allen played fantastic against us. From the few Bills games I've seen, it seems like the coaching staff often relies on Allen to just do hero-ball stuff. So the decision at the end of the game to take away his chance of being a hero seemed like maybe the most gutless call I've seen from a head coach since Riverboat Ron didn't go for 2 against us in week 4. I assume the coaches don't trust Allen to NOT give it away in that moment?

I've said before that "missing the playoffs with a healthy Josh Allen" should be a red flag that triggers a serious look at the coaching staff. At this point, I'm ready for a change. This team completely lacks the ability to close out tight games against quality opponents. Of course, the Eagles are an excellent team and the fact is that you're going to lose tight games to teams like that on a somewhat regular basis no matter what, but this is a consistent pattern that spans multiple seasons now.

Telling Allen to kneel it out with 20 seconds left to go is kind of the final straw for me. At that point, you don't know that you're going to get the ball back. The Bills wouldn't have gotten the ball back if we had lost the coin toss. I wouldn't mind being beaten straight-up by a team like the Eagles, but I'm tired of helping teams out by playing not to lose.

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME

He doesn’t coach that way. He needs to go (but won’t 😢)

I don’t get the “hero ball” thing. Why is Philly making Hurts be Superman and run all those TDs in, doing it all by himself?! Top QBs make plays. It isn’t hero ball.

Maybe hero-ball was the wrong term to use. I just mean, Allen was kicking our ***, converting third downs and generally owning us all day. To take the ball out of his hands with 20 seconds was malpractice, IMO, no matter what you call it. I can guarantee you that Allen would have had your kicker in place to kick a game winner inside of 20 seconds. No question in my mind.

Both teams get a shot in OT now.
But yea I was surprised they didnt at least try - I mean yea, he could get sacked/fumble, but the Eagles would certainly have been a big prevent defense. You could have gotten to midfield I imagine fairly easily.

Not if the first team to possess the ball scores a TD. The Eagles marched right down the field and punched it into the endzone on their first possession in OT.

Oh, is it only the post season they changed it? I thought they changed it so both teams got it regardless

Edit: Shoot my apologies - its just the postseason. I thought it was changed across the board.

Yeah he is a coward. It is the same mentality that has him playing the safeties literally 30 yards off the line of scrimmage against KC and letting them get a FG with 13 seconds.

Playing not to lose 😕

Assuming McDermott doesn't go anywhere, I would be happy with OC Frank Reich, and not because of the homer connections. I want to bring in somebody with real experience running an NFL offense, and Reich was successful in that role in Philly. If not Reich, then somebody with similar experience.

Once the Bills are eliminated I wonder if it will get ugly. I don’t know how McDermott hasn’t lost the locker room, especially the guys who have been around for a couple years.

Kinda hope it gets really bad, that is the only chance for change.

My guess is that it's already at least kind of ugly, and we just don't know about it because the team does keep things in-house, to their credit. Remember that players-only meeting a few weeks ago? Those don't happen when everything is going well.

Dolphin fan here. Look, teams sometimes regress, especially when they have injuries. Miami played them tight last year with a 3rd string QB in a playoff game at Orchard Park and that wasn't enough of a red flag for them to look inwards. Josh Allen, much like other elite QBs can sometimes fool a coaching staff into complacency. It happened with Marino. It's happening now as well in KC, but they, like the Bills before the injury bug figured improving the Defense should solve a lot of their ills. Philly has some of the same issues the Bills have but the tush push and their "ability" to not get penalties called on them at Home seem to mitigate some of the issues with Hurts' game. (EDIT TO ADD: IF the Bills hadn't lost 3 good Defensive players to season ending injuries they'd be right up there with KC and SF in terms of defensive prowess)

Miami and San Fran are doing it the other way with excellence at the skill positions and solid Defense and "on schedule" QBs. Baltimore and Jax oscillate between being good enough on offense and good enough on defense when the time calls for it.

Bills can win all the games left on their schedule and all the playoff games in front of them. I don't want them to bc it would be a lot easier for Miami to be able to rest their starters week 18 vs the Bills than have to play them that week for the division. Maybe Daboll is the answer? If he gets fired in NY he could retread as the OC or the HC for the Bills. Who knows.

Kind of weird thing to say after last night's game, but okay.
And with Mahomes having a pretty lackluster season.

Frankly, Allen has made mistakes that he shouldn’t make at times, but IMO no team in the league has put more on their QB than Buffalo has put on Allen with their pathetic and predictable offensive play calling, issues on defense, and general game management.

Seeing what Allen has done over the last 2 games with a less predictable and more creative playcaller has been very eye opening.

Just keeps getting better.

Arrest warrant issued for Von Miller for domestic assault against a pregnant woman

Unless there’s some contract mechanism that voids his contract, the Bills are absolutely screwed with the guaranteed money still due him.
I hated this signing from the beginning.
But I thought I remembered it was basically a 3 year contract they could get out from?
They re-structured it this past March to free up more money for this year. Even a post June 1 cut is a $17M cap hit for 2024 and then something similar for 2025 I thinkz

The signing was the right move at the time, I am not sure you can correlate ACL injuries to age.

If there is ANY truth to the allegation he needs to be gone. In a weird way that helps them down the stretch as they were feeling obliged to give him snaps but he was much much less effective than three of their other DEs and maybe even all of them.

At the end of this season they will have paid him roughly $35M, about $51M is guaranteed, they easily get out after '24, think they can restructure and stretch out the remaining money that is guaranteed but this type of behavior or criminal activity is usually in most contracts, it's possible the Bills fight some of this and I expect after it proves conclusive and we see photos etc...the Bills will release him or suspend him even if they have to pay him. Bills Front Office won't stand for this.

-And it will rally the team, this is not what the Bills are about or stand for.
Like others mentioned, he wasn't helping the team much, irrelevant to the arrest warrant of course.

Agreed on both counts.

Also, Matt Araiza is sitting at home right now because of a flimsy accusation that turned out to be false. I think it's important to not let the media or team off the hook on how that one was handled.

Her denial of anything happening now is obvious BS. How much did he have to pay her to stay quiet?
Do we even want a person like that on our team?

I don’t want him. With his contract and cap situation, I’m not sure that they even have a choice though. Only way they can void his contract is if he’s suspended and that just got less likely.

The focus here needs to be less on the latest domestic violence allegation and more on how this coaching staff turned this roster into a 6-6 team. The issue with Von Miller is completely insignificant relative to that.

Because they are already in salary cap trouble next year and this could have an enormous impact on their ability to compete next year.

The coaching bit is huge too and McDermott has a lot of answering to do, but a plauer with as much cap impact as Miller absolutely matters.

Brutal article on McDermott out. It all rings true 😢

I sold my tickets to the Dallas game, not sure I can stomach sitting in the cold to watch them nearly win and choke it away at the end with bad game management.

Maybe that will be a reverse jinx and it will be an amazing win I missed out on. It is just so hard to overcome bad game day coaching.
