2025 Cleveland Browns - Who's Got the Play Sheets? (19 Viewers)

...and that's why my optimism was guarded. Coaching did not have this team ready to play. This game was over Tuesday and it wasn't due to injuries. Opened with a kick return to midfield...wasted a challenge on a punt downed at the 1...false start on 1st & 10...12 men on the field on 2nd & 9...3 & out > big punt return > short field TD...delay of game on 1st down of the next drive...punted on 4th and a foot after Shedeur scrambled for 9 yards and 2 feet on 3rd & 10...then the Bears proceeded to march down the field for a 2nd TD. I switched the volume from the Browns to red zone sometime soon thereafter, but not before Shedeur lost the play sheet from his wrist band - I suppose that was our newest only the Browns moment for the day.

This is year six of this offense. Communication - still a problem. Pre-snap penalties - still a problem. Lack of development - still a problem. Undisciplined play - still a problem. The list goes on. Shedeur's big play potential makes this for interesting enough background noise (and Jeudy's INT offered a good belly laugh), but this is just another piece of evidence that this is over. Only question is how many heads roll.

For those that are on the Myles Garrett sack watch, don't be surprised if he's held without one next week with Buffalo coming to town. He's probably going to have to line up against Dion Dawkins.

I'm sure Dion is a fine LT, he's tenth in terms of QB hits allowed but PFF has him with 5 sacked given up on the season which ranks 63rd according to their metrics along with 9 penalties that ranks 74th of all OTs.
Dion Dawkins
How the Bills game-plan for Myles and the game script will 'likely' have the biggest effect on whether or not Myles gets a sack or breaks the record.
Teams have been double teaming him AND chipping him with a TE making sure that six hands are on him every pass drop back.
The Bills are the top ranked rushing attack in the league, and the Browns are struggling the past two weeks on defense. Add in another special team failure and the game could get away real quick negating any need to pass the ball.

The team? Which team is that?
The offensive line that opened the season.
OLT - Dwand Jones who lost lbs. packed on 10 lbs. of lean muscle mass but wound up on IR for the 3rd consecutive year?
OLG - Joel Bitonio the guy who is playing the last 3 games of his career and will need replacing?
OC - Ethan Pocic who is IR and lost for the season?
ORG - Wyatt Tellar who has been injured and rotating in-and-out of the lineup for the past month?
ORT - Conklin who is OUT on IR for the season?
Oh, no, that THOSE guys, the other ones. The backups who weren't good enough to be starters and who got thrust into the starting lineup of an NFL team and who themselves are gimped up and unable to play to their backup potential weren't ready. Uh, yeah. I blame Stefanski for that. He should have invested first round draft picks on offensive linemen for the past three years reloading the chamber, uh. No, first round draft picks.
All of this crap about the team not being ready to play seems to happen with the guys who aren't talented and weren't NFL starters to begin with and that equates to lack of talent no matter how many times people want to blame coaching.
One NFL axiom exists throughout NFL history.
Great coaches have great talent.
Paul Brown coached HOF players.
Tom Landry coached HOF players.
Chuck Noll coached HOF players.
Look at Billy Belichich WITHOUT TOM BRADY and then with Tom Brady, see any diff?
Shula coached NFL HOF players.
Prove me wrong unless you think Stefanski has HOF players on offense and can't coach em up because the players with talent like Myles and Carson are producing because THEY HAVE TALENT.

Bracie...the angrier, less patient Mary Kay Cabot.

there's really not much sense in firing anyone just yet.

Berry and Stefanski signed extensions last year.

other than the draft picks and a couple of good players, who would want this job?

let them ride out the salary cap hell tear down, and then bring in someone else for the rebuild.

Whether I agree with the tag team staying or not, they aren't going anywhere and I'm more & more convinced that they 1. won't take a QB in the first round and 2. there will be a QB competition between Watson and Sanders next pre-season.
