I have volunteered to be the Browns rep in MoP's mock draft. Please share any thoughts about where we should go, including trade scenarios.

If someone that might suck in 2025 offers a future 1, take it. Otherwise, it's Carter or Hunter.

After a bit of wrangling, I traded #2 to the Bears for #10, #39, and #41. Should be some good players there for us in round 2. Don't know who will fall in round 1. I told him to include a 2026 3rd rounder, but he declined (rightly) saying that it's irrelevant to this mock.

Unless someone significant falls, I'm likely to choose a lineman (edge) at 10. Here's how I see our situation... OL is fine for now, but we could lose a couple guys next off-season. TE is okay with Chief, but we could use another of which there are several in this draft. DL can use addressing, both edge and DT. I wish I knew that JOK would be back at 100%. I don't think it's likely either Graham or Walker fall, so I think you're now boxed into an OT. Not necessarily a bad thing, a meat & potatoes draft with eyes towards 2026 may be the best path forward, but neither of these guys move the needle for 2025 like Carter or Hunter would've.

I don't think it's likely either Graham or Walker fall, so I think you're now boxed into an OT. Not necessarily a bad thing, a meat & potatoes draft with eyes towards 2026 may be the best path forward, but neither of these guys move the needle for 2025 like Carter or Hunter would've.

I may trade back up to 5. We're talking, but 3 & 4 will decide it. Maybe Graham.

You'd NEVER force a player who would be stretched to the brink to also learn a new position. Add, his best trait as a defender is man so he's a natural CB with great ball skills so he 'could' be a safety but he's best suited as a CB.
Another honk for Travis Hunter as the top player of this draft came out hours ago. I'd quibble about the 'mega size' comment, but he is an ultra-athlete.

I'm not concerned about the player. I'm only concerned about how the org that choose him uses him. He's immensely more talented than Jabrill Peppers, but when I think of him my mind reverts back to how we grossly misused him and he almost washed out of the league. Hunter is special though.

We have picks 33, 39, and 46. Who do you want? What positions?

I think this is a sweet spot for EDGE (there are several) and TE (but there are some good ones later). That said, without a 3rd anymore we are left with some inflexibility at both TE and iOL. Additionally, by passing on Hunter, we're kinda boxed in on WR now. As is our defense can win, as is our offense can't. Egbuka would be great, but I doubt he falls. I think that really only leaves Burden, so if you miss both... We're also nearing a point in which it could be justifiable to move up for Dart. I get that's more commentary than advice, just saying all that's why I'm side-eyed about trading down from Hunter and picking Graham, but we'll see how the board shakes out. I'd start preparing for moves back if things don't break right though.

There are few things I'm sure of in this world, but I am sure this team that hasn't picked in the 1st round since 2021 is not bypassing a QB then trading away a future 1 for him.

If shadeur is good, you'd have a WR1 (travis) and a WR2 ( or even a 1b in jeudy), you can get njoku back and draft one of the many RBs in rnd 3 or 4.

I agree that the situation is not dire, but this roster needs yutes. Bottom 10 draft capital 4 of the last 6 years. It'd be one thing if the window were still open, but it is now closed. I don't think this is a major rebuild like some others, only 2 of those OL listed above are starting caliber, but this is not a 1 draft fix.

Yep. I agree about the impending OL troubles, but I also think highly of the FO and would suggest they are also aware and have plans in the works.

I agree, and that plan entails keeping their #1 next year. Most of the 1st round talent on this team is getting old.

I'm surprised no one traded up for him rd 1. I'll keep expecting someone to trade up for him until someone does. But, yes, if we pass, the Giants should just pick him.

I'm not-closed minded with Milroe, but he's the only other one that interests me, and he has quite a few concerning metrics attached to him. That and he played like *** most of last season.

He's got a hitch and an extended slow release ... not sure that cuts it with NFL safeties.

The topic? The impact of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders’s habit of patting the ball before the throws it. It was on display during his Pro Day workout on Friday.

Jets safety Andre Cisco tweeted that Shedeur “better stop patting that ball, we breakin onnat earlyyyy.”...

. Eh arm strength where he floats/arch's the damn ball on every deep throw, not sure that cuts it with NFL safeties. He gets the ball out in the face of pressure but doesn't get rid of it fast enough, so he takes too many sacks.

Going deeper into my concerns with Shedeur. The way he holds onto the ball in the face of pressure coupled with the 'extended slow release/hitch' is troubling, but the kicker is he doesn't have a cannon so when a defender gets to him, he can't and 'wisely' doesn't try to make a risky throw and takes the sack.
Guys like Josh Allen is huge enough to shrug off defenders at his feet and he's got a cannon so he can zip the ball out at the last second. Other guys like Pat Mahomes have crazy athletic baseball shortstop like moves where he can fake out a defender and doink the ball to a guy in stride AS HE'S FALLING DOWN. Just nutz.
Shedeur doesn't have the arm strength or athleticism. He can't do that, so he 'wisely' doesn't attempt to make a risky throw and takes the sack.
You can win with a guy like that but .... If/when facing an extra NFL QB the creme de la creme holds the advantage.
I do like Shedeur but ...

...The big downside in taking a QB at #2 IMHO is opportunity cost because I see Travis Hunter as a slam dunk.

We haven't had a first-round pick since 2021, we lack talent and need to absolutely hit with our top pick ... So, even though I like Shedeur I don't think you take him with the second pick of this draft. You don't gamble with the top pick; you take the sure bet.

If you've looked into his game, you would see this flaw.
Abdul Carter has one (MAJOR) problem.
Abdul stands 6'3 at 252 lbs.
Myles Garrett is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 272 pounds. There is no weakness in his pass rush game. Skip to the bottom line; Myles Garrett is the epitome of speed to power.
Bottom line: Abdul Carter is the epitome of speed to speed. He lacks a power move inside, Abdul has no bull rush, and one counter (a ghost move but it is a variation of his outside speed rush). He's uber quick/speedy and that is fantastic and will be productive, but no one should think he's similar to Myles who is still productive in the face of double and triple teams or someone who is of the same stature as T.J. Watt who is nearly identical at 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 252 pounds because T.J. has power.
I love Abdul Carter, but he's got one major flaw in his game.

Flacco is back. 1 year deal. He's a bridge and not here to develop. But the Pocket Passer concept is strong in the QB room with this signing and Pickett. Have to think a QB to be drafted will fit the same mold.

I've resigned myself into believing Hunter is the pick. Not my first choice, but I'm not the GM/Owner/HC, so it doesn't matter.
I don't think they'll trade up into the first, but I can see them trading back into the 2nd for Shough. I think he's the sleeper pick at QB. I don't want Dart (reminds me of Levis), I'm not a fan of Sanders (needs more development), and Milroe is too raw.

Wouldn't mind seeing a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round. The other pick should be an OT.

Other than that, maybe Ransom or Hancock in the late rounds to fill holes in the DB room.

Pickett was never going to be the week 1 starter. Flacco is now in pencil, but the door will be open for whatever rook is selected to force his way into the lineup. Key word, 'force.' There will be no expectations tied to a rook to come in and start early in the season. Even if Flacco flops / gets injured, Pickett can get teed up if the team doesn't deem the rook ready.

I also think that since they are forced to keep Watson on the roster, he has some role, if healthy.

I respect your opinion, and I agree that Stefanski tries to be as honest as he can whenever he can.

Hunter is the most likely pick based on what’s happened.

Pickett was never promised the starting role, and I have a hard time believing that Flacco isn’t the presumptive starter at the moment.

I also think that since they are forced to keep Watson on the roster, he has some role, if healthy.

Also, the next few years depend upon Watson not being healthy.

It’s in no one’s interest in him being healthy next year.

conspiracy theory or not, there’s an extremely low probability of Watson playing next year.

I was against changing OC's and moving on from Flacco last year.

I tend to believe coaches when they say things. I also think KS is very honest and doesn't do anything that would cast a shadow on his integrity. He said good things about Pickett. It would absolutely make sense for them to want Pickett to start. If he could play at a starting level, the browns have starter for a few years and sort of get past the Watson debacle.
But my guess is Joe will just be the better player and ultimately he’ll get the job as picket shows why the Steelers moved on.

Trade the pick. Get at least one future 1st in the deal. Try and get a stud QB at SOME point.
Give me that route over a guy who isn't even sure what position he is (though I know he'd be good at either).
Anyone thinking drafting Hunter means we get both an awesome WR and DB is fooling themselves.
