2025 Offseason Rankings and such (1 Viewer)

I'm still working to update mine and haven't even started into the UFA signings - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gwgzC1aaIaxiXbL_LDSK8b1yVzQo3Fbogm8RuEzMP3w

Teams that appear to have addressed a need early with either high capital or a highly regarded prospect:
Atlanta (Edge) with Walker & Pierce
Baltimore (Edge) with Green
Carolina (Edge) with Scourton & Umanmielen
Cincy (Edge) with Stewart
Dallas (Edge) with Ezeiruaku
SF (Edge) with Williams

Buffalo (IDL) with Sanders)
KC (IDL) with Normal-Lott
Miami (IDL) with Grant
NYG (IDL) with Alexander
Pitt (IDL) with Harmon
SF (IDL) with Collins

Cincy (LB) with Knight & Carter
LAR (LB) with Paul
SF (LB) with Martin

Atlanta (S) with Watts
Baltimore (S) with Starks
Seattle (S) with Emmanwori

Some guys I think that got higher capital than projected and gain some value are Hassanein (Edge) to Detroit, Oladejo (Edge) to Tenn, Lindenberg (LB) to LV, and Trader (Safety) to Miami.

Some teams that look like they failed to address needs and to watch for UFA landings are Edge for Washington, IDL for Atlanta, Jax and NYJ, LB's in Indy and Tenn, and Safeties in Cleveland, Minn, NYJ, TB and Wash.

Schwesinger tops my list if he gets any buzz as a green dot and/or MLB.

A couple of notes from Gregg Rosenthal that I hadn't heard about.

I'll be surprised if he's not a 90+%er week 1 and have the green dot by the bye.
We're probably all gun shy after the recent rookie seasons from Lloyd, Campbell, and Cooper. It seems to be a stash position now.
Well, if JOK's injury is career threatening, then I wouldn't let recency bias sway me. The risk is if he really is fine and the Browns have been aggressively spending on LB's despite that. It's not even May, but that's a risk I'm willing to take.

I guess I'm saying that even if he's LB1 for me, that might fall lower in my rookie rankings than it did 5 years ago.

Looks like DE for Jalon Walker at MFL.

If he DE this could be like the Mack days when he was getting LB2 numbers from your DE position... the problem was every yr MFL just couldn't make up its mind

is it because LB is a harder position to learn now ala like TE? or has the talent just not been there?

Given the value of green dot LBs in my main league (start 3-4 lbs, 3 pts per solo tackle) I’m prepared to draft high and stash.

Bloom’s post draft top 100 is up. Macri has top 50 IDP rookies up at PFF but it’s behind a paywall. IDP+ has a top 101 rookie pick video.

ETA: Maybe don't lean on them too hard right now - missing both Jalon Walker and Malaki Starks in the top 56, seems like they might be a work in progress.

they look good now!
you guys have Knight Jr rank #2 LB, is the expectation he takes over immediately from Pratt?

I think most are assuming that based on how bad the Bengals defense was, Pratt requesting a trade, and Knight’s draft slot.

Having a real tough time looking at rankings

When I look ar my league, DL needs are minimal with having 100 plus available and teams starting 48. Whereas team need at LB is bleak. Despite only 64 worthwhile ones at most and 50 wanted to be started each week. DB has 120 starters and 67 started.
Add in high unit last year DL 600( started 4-3-4) LB 1083(started 3-4-4) DB 1028(started 3-2-6)

So I have rankings as
1. Carson Schwesinger
2. Jihaad Campbell
3. Demetrius Knight
4. Abdul Carter
5. Nick Martin
6. Nick Emmanwori
7. Jalon Walker
8. Teddy Buchanon
9. James Pearce
10. Danny Stutsman
11. Chris Paul
12. Malachi Starks
13. Mykeal Williams
14. Shemar Stewart
15. Mike Green
16. Donovan Ezeiruaku
17. Nick Scourton
18. Mason Graham
19. JT Tuimoleau
20. Cody Simons
21. Kevin Winston
22. Andrew Mukuba
23. Jeffrey Bassa
24. Femi Oladejo
25. Prince Ummanmeilen
26. Xavier Watts
27. Jahdae Barron
28. Barrett Carter
29. Walter Nolan
30. Landon Jackson

10 LB-14 DL-6 DB but I like all DL

Feels weak overall in the end

And when you add O
Expect 3 LBs go 2nd. No clue on Abdul. I thought mid 3rd but looking at drafts/rankings probably mid 2nd but not sure how much better than others way later but name and rankings.

A Carter over Walker? won't Walker get more tackle opps?
Does Walker not have huge bust potential at that size. Seen it many times where these smaller pass rushers get beaten up in NFL. But why grabbing Carter not a necessity as DL is strength of this draft far and away. LB is weakest.

I like watching Jalon Walker, he plays fast and strong, has highlights as a pass rusher and LB, and word is he's a alpha type, great intangibles.

But the hybrid guys coming out, I think of Dion Jordan and Isaiah Simmons. Guys without a true position, sounds great, but I feel like it works better with CB/S hybrids. Also with hybrid types: the coaches there now may have a hybrid vision, but if they get fired, does the next staff have the same idea?

Frankie Luvu is the vision, I think.

I don't care how he's classified, could be a really high scoring DE, but there's such a shortage of LB for owners, I was kind of hoping he would get slotted there.

Yeah, my thoughts too... and it could apply to Campbell too.

It seems like the S/LB hybrid has been a little more successful - Thomas Davis, Divine Deablo, Jamien Sherwood spring to mind. It's a good fit for the 2-LB alignments to have a guy who can do both things. Still, at LB/Edge there are guys like Baun, Elliss, and Van Noy who've been successful. Having a DC who unlocked Baun is encouraging for Campbell.

Carter v Walker depends on your leagues scoring, Also if Walker has dual Edge/LB designation then there is a little flexibility right there.

In a few of my leagues tackles are 2pts and sacks are 4pts. I am taking Walker in these over Carter if they drop to me. That said, so far I am seeing them both over drafted.

16 team IDP draft and I've definitely lost the draft.

Targeted Schwesinger, traded up for the 2nd pick of 2 consecutive picks by the same owner and he took him with the other pick. Then watched Knight sit there for 20 picks (round and a half) and he went one before me since I got burned the first time around. Did grab Martin as my 4th ranked LB also but definitely feel like a clown.

Thats a lot of pain in one draft.

Got Schwesinger, Jaylon Walker, Mykeal Williams sandwiched in between Kyle Williams and Jaylen Royals. Traded back a few times to collect more picks.

Drafted Judkins in devy years ago to go along with my picks. So rather happy with my draft.

I'm in a full rebuild and am stashing Walker, Williams and Royals on Taxi squad.

note - many of the top rookies got drafted in Devy in prior years.

I got Schwesinger (2.11) and Campbell (3.11) Shocked I got both of them. Needed to get younger at LB and hope these guys pan out.
Nice haul!
I really liked my draft a lot. It went this way:

1.10 - Harvey
2.01 - Egbuka
2.10 - Tuten
2.11 - Schwesinger
3.11 - Campbell
4.03 - Marks
4.10 - Brooks
5.10 - Felton

Pretty happy overall (I think). I have Chase Brown and Mixon so Marks and Brooks are insurance with some upside for down the road. I got younger at LB (which I needed to do) and am happy with Egbuka for future WR value.

I had to give up Pickens (2.01 OTC) and Kamara (2.11 OTC and 4.03) to get Egbuka, Schwesinger, and Marks. Not perfect but probably solid value.

Lloyd not getting his 5th yr option is crazy
I had Lloyd in one league but traded him away a couple years back. Seemed like the staff had soured on him because he wasn't playing many snaps and certainly not performing well. Then all of a sudden he's putting up decent stats (because I traded him away). I don't know what is going on with him or the staff. But it appears they aren't very high on him either. Wasn't he a high 1st round pick?!

I doubt Schwes drops to 2,11 in my leagues. LB score well, so likely no later than 2,05
I was surprised by this as well. Part of the reason i traded for 2.11 because I knew he wouldn't last back to my next pick. I was also surprised Abdul Carter went before Schwesinger as well. Our scoring doesn't really support a DE over a LB at that point.

JOK placed on pup as expected. Out for 2025.
Does that mean he is out for sure for next year? There are too many PUP/Exempt/IL/etc designations it's hard to know which one means which.
Yes, he is out for sure in 2025.
