2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Za'Darius Smith: Will he be a Ndamukong Suh-type addition, or Ryan Kerrigan? (38 Viewers)

Celebs at the game

Wrexham owner and always Sunny actor Rob McElhenny

The NBA GOAT and my favorite athlete outside of Ken Griffey Jr AT Guard From North Carolina Michael Jordan!!!

The Silverlingings playbook star Bradley Cooper

Rumors of others but nothing really confirmed

Some random thoughts from a tired person just getting home from the game

- ugly game but I like to win ugly games instead of lose them

- When the film comes out you won’t see many open WR’s, especially in the second half

- Jalen Hurts looked very good to me

- OL allowed just 3 pressures in the first half and zero sacks. They allowed 11 and a sack in the second half. Mailata had one of the worst games I’ve ever seen from him

- Despite losing Graham, Sweat, Williams, Slay, CJGJ, Dean and Carter for the game I thought the defense played well

- Refs really need to grow a pair too. Some of these calls are just horrible.

- Mitchell didn’t look great out there either.

- Thank you CD

After watching Dak post game comments and seeing the video again, I hope he gets a slap from the office too. Absolutely provoked the interaction. Tried to make it out as a misunderstanding and he was just spitting on the ground innocently. Dude walked up between his O lineman and stared Carter down with a crazy come at me bro type of grin. UNreal

(Not that it excuses Carter, but context matters)

Exactly. Carter got ejected and will still get a fine deserved so. You don't spit on someone. But if the league is cracking down on taunting as they say, Dak will get a fine.

Just watched Baldy's Breakdown, we got a real special player in Jihaad Campbell. He's going to be a problem for offenses.
Yeah, he def flashed last night. Bright spot in an ugly win full of troubling performances.

Just remember, last season the team had a troubling start to the season as well. How'd that turn out?
100% Agreed. I’ve been beating the drum all off season that there’s troubling spots on Defense and it will take several weeks for all the pieces to fall in place.

I’m hopeful and excited. Also, resolved to cuss out the D for the next 5 weeks, or so, until they look like a Fangio Defense.

They don't have an edge guy to fear as a pass rusher. Nolan was clearly a great addition, but he's not bendy sack guy. Never has been.

However, when Carter takes the next step and becomes a true wrecking ball, which seems like a foregone conclusion to me, everyone on D suddenly looks a little better.

Yup, EDGE is one of the areas I’m concerned about. Nolan’s a good player, and he can look great when JC’s taking double-teams. Hunt is still young and raw, but I’m hopeful. Uche had some flashes last night, and might’ve earned himself some time as an Ace pass rusher. No depth, though, and a 3-man rotation of light guys won’t last all season.

LBs were awesome. And Vic decided to be unFangioish and bring blitzes after the rain delay. They need to generate pressure to help the secondary.

Mukuba was a bright spot, and I hate to see anyone injured, but he needed to start over Sydney, anyway. Adoree Jackson looked horrible. Jak Bennett looked- promising, is the best word I can use.

Howie needs to get on the phone and see what he can get for EDGE depth and a CB2.

Quinyan looked like someone reading his own headlines all off-season and buying the hype. He needs to get back in the lab and do some work.
Not sure how much it matters but I saw this after:

Quinyon Mitchell lined up against George Pickens on 17 of his 32 routes, allowing 2 receptions for 15 yards. After playing only 1 snap aligned at LCB last season, Mitchell played 31 of his 56 snaps at LCB.

Also, nice of NBC to sit on the Dak footage for over 3 hours before showing it. Well done

Still doesn't make what Carter did acceptable.

The funny thing is, before the season, Carter was my choice for Defensive Player of the Year. Now, that vote is up in the air.

Pointing out anything other than what Carter did as unacceptable isn’t trying to justify his actions.

When you say, "makes more sense now" it is.

Hard to do it missing the first game but he still could get there.

He’s replying back to me saying how messed up it was NBC didn’t release the entire footage for 3 hours. He’s not making a case or even speaking about Carter

Eagles CBs in coverage vs. Dallas —

Adoree’ Jackson:
▫️7 targets
▫️5 catches
▫️103 yards allowed

Quinyon Mitchell:
▫️9 targets
▫️4 catches
▫️30 yards allowed

Cooper DeJean:
▫️3 targets
▫️1 catch
▫️0 yards allowed

Jakorian Bennett:
▫️3 targets
▫️3 catches
▫️20 yards allowed
Byron Maxwell would be proud

James Bradberry says hold my beer.
Nah he says hold my All Pro Selection

Byron never made a Pro Bowl

But whatever, they all smell really really bad.

Add in the penalties among the CBs and it looks even worse, including for Quinyon who had a bad PI because he was out of position on his coverage.

Hopefully the entire D knocked the rust off in that game and they can start getting into form against KC.

They won’t even though he should. I found it funny how nbc was asking Jason Garret of all people if he spoke to Dak after the game on the incident and Dak said he was talking to his line man and had to spit. In the video you clearly see him spit in Carter’s direction say something to him and smile. It was clearly intentional. I’m still upset with Carter for reacting the way he did but now I understand why he reacted as it was clearly intentional by Dak.

Incidents like that should be reviewable and the refs would clearly see the taunting and penalized Dak as well

Can’t be relying on that every season though. If they don’t get their **** together fast with this brutal early schedule we could be in for some issues

I thought I saw some talk on the socials that Dak did something to provoke the response and it was getting some juice especially during the delay. I think the nfl made NBC release it the tape then. If not they weren’t going to show that till after the game until everyone went to bed.

Nope but we at least understand the reaction now
