2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Josh Harris is finally doing something good for Philadelphia. (21 Viewers)

Moro Ojomo is/should break out this year. Seems like he has really taken the offseason and this opportunity seriously and is ready to play a big part of the DT rotation this year. All the advanced pass rushing metrics from last year show this guy "should" be ready to take the next step. All reports so far in camp is he is just killing it every day.

0 Career sacks, not even .5

That is definitely changing this year, playing next to Carter, he should have fun this year and parlay that into a solid contract for a guy taken very late in the draft.
Yup! Excited to see him play this year.

So far he has been tearing it up in camp (admittedly against Steen, mostly) but has been in the backfield disrupting all the time. The hope was that he could be 80% of Milton Williams’ production- he could very well be more than that. With Jordan Davis in “the best shape of his life”, Thomas Booker looking very solid and Gabe Hall and Ty Robinson, DT is the strength of the Defense.

At EDGE, Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt both look to have picked up where they left off last year and show improvement. I worry about depth behind them, though. Ojulari, Uche and Ogonkwo seem like JAGs, to me.

CB today showed maybe some slight movement towards Ringo being edged out in favor of Adoree Jackson. It’s waaaaay early, but today, after rotating every other day being first with the 1s and splitting reps 50:50, Jackson started and took about 70%. The Eagles want Ringo to win the job: he’s young and was drafted here. But Fangio dgaf about draft picks or contracts- better player wins. Woth watching what happens with the % split moving forward.

My bold prediction- if Mukuba’s shoulder injury isn’t serious or lingering, he is the starter Week 1. And if he isn’t ready to go, Justin Simmons gets signed after the 1st ore season game. Sydney Brown is a hard-hitting guy with a good motor, but he is too undisciplined and isn’t fluid enough of an athlete to be the starter.
Philly should have a scary defense (at least the front 7) for many years. Picking at the end of the 1st round every year has allowed them to take BPA and in their case, has usually been defensive studs falling into their laps. Their depth is crazy good! You'd think teams would be reaching out to them to see if any can be had in trade. I've been picking up shares of Ojomo and Hunt in every league I can. They can be had for dirt cheap (if anything) and everything I've been reading about them has been nothing but positive. For Philly's sake, and MY sake, I hope these guys progress like expected. Will certainly be fun to watch all these studs flying around making plays. Since I am a student of "Defense Wins Championships", I can totally see these guys deep in the playoffs for several years. Could be another mini "dynasty" like the Chiefs.

WSH doesn’t want to pay Terry McLaurin because of his age, which is 30.

So far this year they have signed, traded for, or re-signed 20 players that are 30+.

Keep doing you, Josh Harris!
Its crazy they have $16M in cap space, I just looked at the potential 2026 free agents, there ain't no one good enough to reserve cap space for.

And I mean, lol, Terry definitely sees what Deebo is making despite the fact he has averaged less than 800 yards receiving for his entire career, and Terrys lowest season is his rookie year of only getting less than 1k yards.

And hes done that with WHO.

Pay this man.

I wouldn’t mind Scary Terry going someplace else. Washington, aside from this debacle, is turning into a contender.
Are they? Super duper old team, they just doubled down on vets.

But yeah they trade Terry they are going 5-12

I wouldnt go that far
They are literally the oldest team, but almost a full year

It would just turn into JD5 becoming THE ENTIRE offense, and methinks that is not so great for a guy with such a slight build

They won SO many games last year on the last play, etc I was already projecting them to be slightly worse this year than last b/c of this

Maybe 5 is a little drastic, but they averaged less than 6 wins per season during Terry's entire career until last year

If they are going to make any major improvements, it will have to be on the defensive side of the ball. I was in their team thread and one of the posters gave a list of all the new guys they got on the defensive line and quite frankly, the list of additions for them was uninspiring. They literally replaced Dante Fowler who had a decent year for them last year with about 4 guys who might be able to replace his production if you add them all together.

It seemed like their offseason was more about surrounding Daniels with better players. But even if their offense is better it probably won't translate into many more points (they were ranked 4th in points per drive last season).

I don't really know what to make of Washington. I think beating the Lions last year is swaying opinions a bit, but the Lions were so banged up by that point I'm not sure it's representative of how good/bad Washington is. I could see Washington taking a step back in terms of record, I still don't love their defense, they did nothing to improve the run defense and their schedule is a bit tougher on paper. If they win 12 games again this year, I'll be impressed.

I think so. They’re a better team this year. Their record might drop 1-2 games, but they’ll be a playoff team. Their D will be much better, they picked up some decent weapons and upgraded the Oline some.

Daniels doesn’t strike me as the type of cat that has a sophomore slump. I think his game improves even more this year- he has the physical skills, the work ethic and all the intangibles.

But, lose McLaurin and their playoff hopes drop off a cliff. That’s his leverage. They’ll work something out and it’ll be smiles and rainbows and business as usual.

I pretty much agree with all of this, but am a little more optimistic than you for their chances. Their secondary will be better this year and their LBs are solid. Dline is a big question mark.

Trey Amos, Jonathan Jones, Noah Ignenighometyofjrjrjfj upgrades over St Juste. Will Harris an upgrade over deForest. Sanristil is a solid nickel. Lattimore (even though he needs to send AJ a Father’s Day card every year) is healthy and not coming in cold off the streets this year.

They’ll be better.

They’ll be better.

Jeremy Chinn and Quan Martin were the starting safeties for Washington. Chinn left in the offseason. Harris is an downgrade to Chinn.

Sanristil was the top CB in snaps last season. He was already on the team. Lattimore was on the team last year, too. No upgrade there, plus, I'll add, Lattimore hasn't been able to stay healthy since 2021. To expect him to do so now, at 29. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Is Jonathan Jones, better than the other CBs he's replacing, maybe, that doesn't make him any good. PFF had him rated the 118th CB out of 222. For comparison sake, Kelee Ringo was rated 79th.

So the question is, will Trey Amos be good enough to make the Commanders secondary better? I don't know, he's a rookie.
