2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Lane Johnson has entered the late-stage Jason Peters phase: great when out there, but can’t stay out there a full season. (46 Viewers)

Yeah I’m done with Patullo. Tried to give him the bye but it’s the same. He’s just to afraid to be an OC with this offense.

I’m concerned it’s both him and Nick. Same problems as before, before we had Moore. At least BJs offense was 8th. Gonna be interested if/when KP is fired what stories come out.

Another unconvincing possible tonight.
I know you like your stories. This is another simple one—the OC sucks.
Yeah, coming off the bye and outting together a gameplan like that is borderline criminal. The long pass to AJ at the end was epically stupid- like the one possible way to staistically lose the game stupid

Feels like his gameplan is death by a thousand 3.5 yard runs.

Both teams decision making at the end was just off. I guess pressure can do that to someone but I’d expect better from Sirianni

Based on offensive success rate, that was the Eagles' worst regular-season performance of the Sirianni/Hurts era. A 6th percentile offensive performance.

The only game that was worse was the playoff loss to the Bucs after the 2023 season.

Ooof, horrible memory. Yeah, this game felt almost that bad, except Vic and Jordan Love gave us the win.

Eagles 3rd downs of 8+ yards this game:

3-8: Jalen Hurts run
3-10: Hurts short pass to Will Shipley
3-11: Hurts scrambles
3-12: Shipley rush
3-14: Shipley rush
3-15: Hurts short pass to Will Shipley

Jaelan Phillips in his #Eagles debut.

6 tackles, fumble recovery, 4th-and-1 stop for loss in one-score game with under 2 minutes left.

Couldn’t ask for a more impactful debut.
no kidding. Defense was fantastic tonight.

The Eagles play calling in the 2nd to last drive at the end was atrocious. GB used their first timeout, instead of running it again and making them use their 2nd, they try to throw the ball. If they get GB to burn just one more TO, they never get the ball back with 33 seconds left.

Welcome everyone to the Fire Patullo fan club. I'm still shocked that a team with Super Bowl aspiration hired a guy who never in his life called plays.

We do it every other year.

Same problems as before, before we had Moore.
We haven’t been this conservative since Kotite. Patullo has no balls whatsoever. He’s afraid to lose or win.

The decision at the end of the game for both HC’s (the previous 4th down by GB)was downright crazy. A lesson of what not to do form two of the better HC’s.
Its not good. I mean how many times were they going to run that little play action misdirection to Goedert to the sideline? After the 2nd time I said to my friend "GB is gonna pick that off next time" and while that exactly didn't happen, it was a reaction PBU by a Green Bay defender bc we ran that particular exact play 3x out of how many total pass plays, 26?

He has GOT to get better, but my fear is by the time the playoffs come he's just going to be so overmatched in each game

Phillips was everywhere last night. Pundits were saying he just needed a change of scenery.

I was hoping the Lions would land him at the deadline.

I know the narrative right now seems to be "one year rental, we are getting comp picks anyway"

But to me, there is NO WAY you let this guy leave the building. He OBVIOUSLY wants to be here, he literally said it was the best thing to ever happen in his life when he got traded here.

And this instant impact, at a position of need, we highly value? Howie gotta get this guy to stay. I can't remember an instant impact trade like this in game 1 of a debut since Owens.

Plus Smith and BG are back, and all of the sudden we have a legit pass rush, which was an issue earlier in the year.

Za'darius Smith was literally our leading sack guy at edge going into last night with 1.5

He's been retired for over a month

Not sure how to take this one:

The Eagles lead the NFL in designed runs on 3rd and 7+ with 15.

Also worth noting: They're in good company. The other teams with 10+ designed runs on 3rd and long are Seattle, Indianapolis, and KC.

Eagles under Nick Sirianni (including playoffs)
4-0 vs LAR,GB
3-0 vs MIN
2-0 vs DET,CAR,JAC,PIT
1-0 vs CHI,CIN,BAL,CLE,MIA,NE,BUF,HOU,TEN,IND
7-2 vs WAS
8-3 vs NYG
2-1 vs NO
3-2 vs KC
5-4 vs DAL
1-1 vs ATL,ARI,NYJ,DEN
1-2 vs SF
2-4 vs TB
0-1 vs SEA,LAC,LV

61-25 (.709) total

Nick Sirianni's record against Sean McVay/Kyle Shanahan tree.

15-4 (including McVay and Shanahan)

.789 win percentage.

For all the cracks about Nick Sirianni, he's now moved past George Allen for the 2nd-best winning % in the Super Bowl era. Only John Madden is ahead of him.

He moved past **** Vermeil for No. 3 in wins in Eagles history.

He's now 5-0 coming off the bye week and 10-0 vs the NFC North.

And the Eagles have road wins this year vs. GB, KC, TB.

Last night it was pretty obvious that Sirianni didn't think GB could score on us, and he was right. I bet next week, if they are 3rd and 7+ they'll be throwing.

They're like a crappier version of the 00-10's Pats. They do whatever is necessary to finish with a higher score in 60 mins. It looks way less pretty though.

I was drunk and thought this in real time but thanks for bringing this back to my mind. That was so dumb

DeVonta Smith postgame on the head scratching deep ball on 4th down at end of game:

"Whatever 1 and 11 want to do. If thats what they call and they want, we roll with it"

They showed the play, then panned to Sirianni and he mouthed “why’d he throw that?”

🤔

Moro Ojomo's ranking among all DTs:

Hurries: 2nd (23)
Pressure rate: 2nd (14.4%)
Pressures: 6th (28)
Win %: 7th (19.4%)
So we replaced Milton Williams with Ojomo who is playing better this year than Milton did last year, and we just replaced Sweat with Jaelen Phillips.

New Slot CB only played 1 snap, so we will see on that, but right now, as is with Nolan Smith back, this defense looks championship caliber. Phillips needs literally no ramp up time he was out there for 78% of defensive snaps in his first start.

No excuse. There’s still adequate talent out there to take. You just need to find people willing to coach with players limits and coach to their strong assets. If I’m the ravens, I’m not hiring a guy who’s gonna wanna air it out most of the time like a Klingsbury for example? Why? I got Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson both great threats in the run game. I’m going QB design runs to get Lamar in space and power run game with DH, mixed in RPO and play action with motion and jet sweeps, while keying on my TEs.

Unfortunately I think Nick is becoming a problem here and involving himself and not looking to adapt with guys he doesn’t trust often.

I mean the Pats were also caught cheating a bunch and Bill knew how to toe the line of legal and not legal play. And one of the reasons they got away with it so long is because Robert Kraft was a huge influence in getting Roger Goodell the Commissioner Gig. Kraft is a very influential and respected owner in NFL circles too. Willing to bet if NE was Tush Pushing with Brady Roger would be all for it.

Or maybe he QB went rogue. Very similar to what he did in ‘23. “Why’d he throw that”…he’s talking about the QB unless you think Brown made him do it 🤷‍♂️

And if you watch what Smith said it was innocent. Just added perspective after what Sirianni was saying

We have drastically different definitions of “barley played” while going on to post percentages of 69, 72, 58, 83, 33 and 82 out if 9 games lol. Thats 66% in those 6 games man. Thats definitely not barely played. I’m not saying he’s an all-pro, a guy who’s played that much in 6 games has allowed over 38 yards one time 🤷‍♂️. It’s not bad.

I actually liked the play call. It wasn't a deep pass...it was a high percentage short pass with an option to run. Sometimes the defense just blows s^$^&@%#$ up, and they did on that play. WR was well covered and Parsons was all over Jalen. The choice became to either throw it away or take a 6 yard loss. Under the circumstances both were bad options.

We aren't running the ball well. And the Packers had 8 men in the box. We certainly could have run the ball three times but we would NOT have gotten the game clinching first down that way.

The play that confused me was the bomb attempt when we had to have a first down. Something more conservative that had a better chance of converting (and keeping the clock running) made more sense. IN a game full of head scratching play call decisions, the play you referenced was far from the worst
