Fantastic pick.Jihaad Campbell. A LB in the first round. Wow!
I love that they now take the players that are a value and we can all get excited for….over the old Jon Harris , Mike Mamula, type “finds”.Jihaad Campbell. A LB in the first round. Wow!
Howie and Andy are just really close they wouldn’t screw one or the otherOnly cost 1 of our 28 5th round pickz. Thanks howie
Same thoughts, as usual. Yeah man! Pay but $$ then DRAFT the consensus #1 ILB round 1. I haven’t seen anyone influence Howie this heavily before and I am 100% here for it. I can only hope we trade up a bit more to acquire a few DL spots and BPA it out. Feels like Mayer/Musgrave incoming at TETell you what, Fangio has Howie’s ear and I love it.
Ya, I think Howie is a bit more easy going after the 2 recent Super Bowls, and Fangio turned a bad defense into an elite one that one it all. He definitely was in Howie's ear about this guy and when Howie had a shot at incredible value, he did his thing to get it.Same thoughts, as usual. Yeah man! Howie and Lurie have always been big Fangio fans. I’ve been hearing it for yrs so to me it’s not surprising. This is one of those rare instances you don’t have to worry about a certain coach leaving and GM just asks him who he likes. It’s the same with Stoutland. Tell me who you like from the guys we and scouts like and give me a guy or two you like, and we’ll go from there.Same thoughts, as usual. Yeah man! Pay but $$ then DRAFT the consensus #1 ILB round 1. Man, I’d love if we somehow got AmosReason Will Johnson is falling is medicals. Word being used is chronic issues in foot and knees
2 CBs in the first 2 rounds last year. A 21-yr-old blue chip prospect with freakish atheleticism and good numbers in the SEC who dropped because of injury concerns. They just paid 28 yr old Baun $51 mil. But still, today you need 2 stud LBs
Pretty much what they did, to ensure no one moves up to take their guy. They got burned way back in the day trying to get cute - they wanted Brandin Cooks and I think he was 2 spots out before a team traded right in front of them. So now they will burn a late pick just to ensure they get their guy. Did the same moving up one spot for Jalen Carter.I was at work and just following draft on phone. I LOVE the pick, but was confused about the trade. Moved up just one pick to take a guy KC wasn't likely eyeing. Have to assume Howie knew someone else was trying to move up for the same player?
You can't go wrong taking BPA. That's how the good teams stay good year in year out.I don’t know what happened in Philly, but the luxury of taking the true BPA is pretty sweet.
They also wanted Russ Wilson had to take Foles. There were other instances too it happened in Andy’s draft yearsPretty much what they did, to ensure no one moves up to take their guy. This defense is going to be fun to watch. 2 LB's that basically do the same stuff - sideline to sideline coverage, turnovers, pass rushers.Jihaad Campbell on the final big boards:
Daniel Jeremiah: 12th
PFF: 13th
The Ringer: 11th
Todd McShay: 11th
Mel Kiper: 21st
Mina Kimes: One of my strongest beliefs about this draft: If Alabama LB Jihaad Campbell falls, some team is going to get an absolute steal. Extremely high upside prospect.
And also: Draft Reaction

Sounds like start of career Campbell will be a edge rusher
And way less baggageSounds like start of career Campbell will be a edge rusher
He's about the same size as Micah Parsons (well...about 10 lbs lighter right now).
Saw reports they were ready to move up to 22 for him.Jeffrey Lurie said the Eagles spend over an hour trying to trade up to take Jihaad Campbell. Thats how much they liked him.
Nobody wanted to trade but he fell to them anyway.
He didn't "fall to us anyway", we still traded up for him.Jeffrey Lurie said the Eagles spend over an hour trying to trade up to take Jihaad Campbell. Thats how much they liked him.
