2025 Team Defense & Defense by Committee Thread (6 Viewers)

Raiders defense is fools gold with a good matchup
Theyve been pretty solid the past few weeks and New Orleans seems totally feckless. I’ve been going back and further between Vegas and Seattle all weeks. I think Seattle is a better defense than Vegas, but the Saints have a much lower ceiling as an offense than the Bears.

I don’t like trusting bad defenses in a good matchup
That’s what I thought about Cincinnati last week…

Roll with them then. Good luck.

How do we feel about Dallas now that small hands Kenny is the Eagles QB? Dallas has been the #1 DST for the last 5 weeks.

I have the Indy, Miami, and Dallas defenses. I'm totally torn - leaning Dallas since they at least are a good D but obviously the matchup is rough, even with Pickett in for Hurts.

Same boat between MIA and DAL anyway. Not as excited with MIA with Tua out, but will probably roll that way…although coin flip with DAL.

Not sure it really matters but who are NYG starting at QB vs Indy this week?

Is Cleveland defense an option now that Tua is doubtful? Let's say over Las Vegas?
They are definitely an option against Huntley although he generally doesn't throw a ton of INTs or fumble a lot. Spencer Rattler on the other hand ... I might actually stick with Vegas.

Currently have INDY in @NYGs and Lock hopefully with pick sixes.

Toying with the idea of throwing the Browns in at home against a Tua-less Miami team though. And high winds there and possibly rain. That game could be a sh*tshow.

I’ve got Indy in too but still torn on the your side of that matchup and maybe roll out Miami. Is weather that bad?

Made 2 championships out of 3 teams and my DST moves and PK lack of moves looking to cost me both games.

PK- decided to stick with both Fairbairn and Boswell as they were great all season but had .bad matchups.

DST- Swapped out the Eagles for the Colts in one and picked up the Dolphins and benched the Bills in the other.

Colts cost me two titles..
I think this is actually the throughline for championship games everywhere. Tons of people definitely got burnt by this. Me included (although, I can still get the win tonight if my remaining players do decent).
I need a FG or three XP tonight from Bates to negate my comment in one league. Need 27 pts from Bates and ASB to negate the other one. Here's to hoping.

:ptts: to anyone starting the Colts defense. What did I say about starting bad defenses in so-called good matchups?
But I don't think a blanket statement like that is true across the board. If a team felt like they were the clear underdog taking a chance on the Colts would be warranted. In that situation you have to play the ceiling. If a team was favored or slight underdogs it would have been the wrong move.

I had Purdy, Gibbs, SunGod, and Bates and needed 54 points to make up for the Indy mistake. Got there in the 3rd quarter last night. Was happy to see 2 teams with nothing to play for go full shoot out for the duration.
