2025 Team Defense & Defense by Committee Thread (9 Viewers)

San Fran all day long vs Sanders on a rainy windy day , i see INTs and fumbles in this game .
That SF defense hasn’t been good. Whether real life or fantasy.
True but they just were good on Monday
Haven’t scored double digits all year. Had 5 games of 0 or 2 pts and 1 with -4. No thanks. That’s half their games from -4 to 2 points. Let that sink in for a while.

Debating Miami at home against NO with no Kamara and a banged up Olave or SF at Cleveland where the weather looks nasty.

Miami the better D I think but SF with the better matchup. I'm sure I'll pick wrong.

I'll add in they are dead last in sacks this year with 13. Like historically bad. We can research fantasy defenses for countless hours and the one thing I know for sure is my fantasy defense needs to get sacks. They don't. Hard pass no matter the matchup.

I have CLE in one of and BALT in the other. I considered dropping either for a better matchup this week, but after reading the thread, I think I'll stay out and roll the dice with both.

Should I drop the chargers vs LV to try and get Houston for ROS? Houston vs Daniel Jones I don’t mind as much especially after seeing what they did to Josh Allen. The claim goes through Sunday.

Run don't walk.
Claim is in. This is the second league that I’m in that Houston got dropped after that Thursday night game. I don’t get it. How did anyone watch that game and not think that the Houston dst is not droppable? Maybe because it was on Amazon prime?

They looked like the best D in the NFL - if people somehow missed that, you're wise to take advantage.

Slater and Brooks discuss Cowboys' defense resurgence since Quinnen Williams trade | 'The Insiders'

Chiefs-Cowboys on Thanksgiving: What We Learned from Dallas' 31-28 win

Excerpt:

  1. Dallas' defense continues to improve. The trade-deadline moves continue to pay off for Jerry Jones’ club. Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams generated a team-high six QB pressures and tied for the lead with two run stuffs. Williams’ presence completely changes how Dallas can play defense -- he took on 10 double teams on 29 pass rush snaps, most among Cowboys players. The back end getting healthier has also been massive for Brian Schottenheimer’s club, not as easily giving up free releases as they did early in the season. Things got a little wobbly early, with the Chiefs gashing Dallas on the opening drives, but the Cowboys defense settled in and made the stops that mattered. They held Patrick Mahomes & Co. to 5-of-13 on third downs for the game. The biggest stop was a quick three-and-out in the fourth quarter after Dallas retook the lead -- a spot where Mahomes usually answers.

Cleveland weather

24 mph wind, gusts up to 45 mph

64% chance of precipitation, 44% chance of 2-4 inches of snow.

If this weather pattern holds, I will have a rough time picking between Miami and Cleveland.

I'd have a hard time not going with CLE.

SF travelling east. Lousy weather. Burdy hasn't looked great anyway. Could see CLE offense just running it all day as well against that SF D.

Been holding Tampa for a few weeks, but that playoff run not looking as juicy and I think there’s other options. Anyone dropping them.

Trying to make room for McClaurin to come off IR and they are likely my first droppable candidate.

Have DEN for next 2 weeks. I am in the playoffs and debating picking up either New Orleans or Pittsburgh or maybe even both (both would be hard with roster spots). Don't want to use DEN week 15 against GB or week 17 @ KC. Pitt has a bad week 16 matchup @ DET so don't wanna just roll with them.

Hmm. Parentheses has average points DST has scored against that team

Week 15 PIT vs MIA (9.5) or NO vs CAR (10.3)
Week 16 DEN vs JAX (8.3) or NO vs NYJ (10.2)
Week 17 PIT @ CLE (12.1) or NO @ TEN (13.0)
