3rd Shark Pool Mock Draft (1 Viewer)

There a lot of Jets fans here so I am surprised they are still open. If nobody takes them and we need to get this draft going, I can take the Jets too. I would love to get this thing started this weekend.

You can have the Jets.

3 teams left...anyone else want in or anyone want to double up, let me know. as soon as the rest of the spots are filled, we can get this thing going.

I'll take Baltimore if they are one of the 3 teams left. I don't see the up-to-date listing of which 3 teams are left.Lexus.

They are yours.Tennessee and Arizona are left
Got it, Buffaloes. Thanks and GL in all of your drafts - Lexus

I can take a team, if no homer wants them. It doesn't really matter which one, as DH is taking care of my Eagles and I follow the draft quite closely.

I have NO with only 1 pick so I can double up w/Arizona to get this moving

OK...we can start this weekend but no time limit until Monday since I'm sure a lot of people will not be on over the weekend. Please PM the guy behind you after you pick.

Pick 1.1 The Detroit Lions select Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia

I'm not sold on Stafford as a franchise QB so the pick came down to Monroe or Smith. Granted Smith is very athletic but I believe Monroe has the better body type for a LT and has amazing feet to go with it. While it was a VERY tough choice, IMO Monroe will be the better pro and will be a franchise LT for the Lions for the next 10 yrs.

Why do people with access time at work always get preferred treatment? If you know who you'll take take him. If you're doing this draft for reactions you'll still get them.

I like people who are interested enough in football who are here more than just when goofing off at work.

This goes for everyone. No time limit but if here pick.

Why is there always someone who likes to paddle against the tide of enjoyment?

The Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to the following trade:

The Baltimore Ravens are sending their 2009 1st round draft pick, 1.26 (26th selection overall) and WR Demetrious Williams, to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for WR Braylon Edwards, their Jekell & Hyde 4-year veteran who they drafted out of the University of Michigan in the 2005 NFL draft.

All comments and opinions on this trade are invited and welcomed by both NFL teams.

 and I like the Monroe pick. Better player IMO and he's the less common choice.

Drafters - consider taking the road less traveled here, I'm not saying draft stupid, but if there's a couple possible picks and one has been more common, consider going with the other.

seems reasonable, yet unlikely  Give Flacco another good receiver. I don't think it's better than I would have given if asked, unless they REALLY want a player they know will be gone in the 1st.

Interesting trade... and fair IMO.What do you guys think this would do for Edwards' fantasy value vs. how it would be if he stayed in CLE vs. how it would be if the Giants traded for him?

The only problem that I see with this trade, is that I don't think that the Browns will trade Edwards within their division.

Very interesting observation. Could be extended to "I don't think that the Browns would trade Edwards to any within the AFC".

But since we're basically talking from a hypothetical perspective, I think that anything goes here!

Keep the great comments coming.

I received a PM from Buffaloes stating that I was up so I made the pick. Why do you feel the need to hold things up?

 If you know who you are taking, why not just make the pick today rather than hold it up until Monday? We can probably get through more of the draft if we get a few picks in by the weekend.

While I think the value of the trade is fair, I am sure one thing that Edwards will be looking for is a new long term deal. Baltimore does not have a history of handing out big money deals, especially to other teams free agents, which Edwards essentially would be at this point. Like I said, fair value between the two teams, but this deal would never happen IMO.Thanks to Buff for getting this going and to all the drafters. This will certainly make this week go by a little faster.

I think that they WOULD trade him in the division, but at ridiculously high cost, so that trade seems like they didn't get enough back based on the rivalry.

I can take over the Rams if you guys want.

I sent a PM to Blackjacks so hopefully he makes his pick when he gets on next. :lmao: Maybe he didn't see the post saying we were going to start today.

ETA: Updated OP after the trade...let me know if I missed something.

THe interdivision was a factor I considered in the Browns deal.... but given the two teams very different directions I felt like pulling the trigger and rebuilding.

In retrospect the Cards trading Boldin to another team fighting for the NFC crown in 2009 could be more damaging.

I sent a PM to Blackjacks telling him that he is up. He replied so it's clear that he's aware of it. If he is intent on being difficult then why don't we give his team to "Somebody" and move on with this thing?

How long has it been? I'd give him some time.If he holds up the draft until monday as he said above(because that's when he said it's supposed to start) I'm going to drop out.

Does this tell you what you need to know?

It doesn't hurt to start these things early but the drafters should cut some slack to those who may not be able to go on the clock due to prior time commitments. But I say let the fun begin!!

What if I was waiting to hear back on a trade offer?????? Regardless, I can make my pick now.

I wasn't trying to be difficult, I just didn't see the point in picking a player and then delaying other people that signed up for this to start on a agreed time. No big deal over here though, I'm anxious to get things going.

1.02 The St. Louis Rams select Jason Smith (Baylor)

This is an easy pick.

Strong character, very athletic and seems very intellegent. The Rams have a big need at left tackle due to losing Pace this offseason and hopefully this will fill a void on the oline for the next decade. The Rams, with this pick, actually could have one of the more improved offensive line in football. Getting Jason Brown this year and Jacob Bell last to go with Barron and now Smith.....I think the Rams could have something good brewing here for the future.

That's very true, but the real draft starts in a week. If someone has a trade going or a good reason to wait that's great. If someone is here though and won't pick because this wasn't ging to start til monday I have a problem with that. It may not be but just seems stubborn. If waiting for an answer on a trade please say so.I'd like to see this draft finish before the real draft.

Also, the Jets are willing to move up in the 1st if our guy is available at the right spot or down in the 1st if not. Please PM me if you want Robbins from the Giants or want to make a deal with the Jets.

For those of you interested in Chad Johnson Im gonna need about 650 draft points to part ways with him.

Why do people sign up and then stay away for 2-3 days? I'd like to see this done before the real draft. Is that possible?

Probably because they were told it started on Monday. I was wanting to hold it up so we wouldn't be getting emails like this blaming people for just doing what they were told. I check this board usually daily as well as many of you do but I don't think we should get mad at others for not being on the board ready to go with a pick before they were suppose to be. During our actual mock draft, with our time limit, I'm sure we'll be fine.
