4 Day Vacation (1 Viewer)

Im looking to take a long weekend and go with the wife out of town somewhere. Probably in January or February with the exact date pretty fexible, although a Thurs-Sun is preferable. I've been thinking about either New Orleans or Savanah. I could do Vegas as its familiar to me, but that seems "easy".

In any case, has anyone been to both Savanah and NO? I understand they are completely different and may not be easy to compare, but which would you recommend?

Is there a different destination I should be looking into? FWIW, I dont have FBG money. :bag:

I've not been to New Orleans but would love to go. I've been to Savannah and was only mildly impressed. 4 days seems like a long time there to me. We had two full days and were running out of things to do by the end.

Not sure your interests, but maybe Charleston as an option? One of my favorite cities. Lots of history to explore in that area, if that is appealing.

I am going to no for a 4 day weekend to help tipsey out with a charity event in april. No is a great city so much to do. If you like great reataurants, unbelievable culture, parties as crazy or as low key as you want this is the place for you. Outside of working with typsy i plan on doing a gator tour, check out at least 2-3 5 star restaurants and try my luck on burbon street (plan to keep this low key). I have never been to savanna.

Key West is perfect that time of year
Key West is a tad on the expensive side, no? We were there probably 10 years ago and If I recall, they dont really have public beaches. What else is there to do in Key West? We went snorkling and hung out at the pool, but that doesnt seem ideal in Feb.

I love Savannah. Cool little city. Have been there twice and loved it both times. 4 days is 2 days too long though. As FreeBeGel said, you will run out of things to do.

there are a few decent beaches, but it is not really a beach destination.. fishing, snorkeling, drinking, shopping, drinking, eating, and drinking and the must do's in Key West

I've been to NO but it was for a convention and a hurricane forced us to leave early.

Loved Savannah and Charleston makes a nice day trip, along with maybe Tybee Island or Hilton Head. I'm not sure if it'll be warm enough for beach though. That would be a nice trip if you're into moving around. Check out Bonaventure Cemetary in Savannah if you're into that kinda thing.

Just to clarify; Im not necesarrily looking for a beach trip, but if I went somewhere like key West, Id hope to be near the water for some parts of the time.

I don't think Parrothead drinking. He is correct, KW would be perfect for a 4 day vacation. The ocean water would probably be only 70 or but the drinking is there and the eating is first class. You could also do some kick ### fishing and sightseeing. Not a whole lot better in life than strolling up Duval street after a fantastic dinner, holding your drink of choice, and deciding which live band you feel like listening to. Plus the carribean vibe of Key West seems to (in my experience) to pump up the libido of your female companion.

KW rules!

We went to NO over MLK weekend. I think it was 3 or 4 days. Was great. I went to Paula Deans place and thought it sucked. Thats all I've got about Savannah
