4 flying objects have been shot down over North America: “Spy balloons and UFOs up to no good” (1 Viewer)

IT'S IN THE NEWS IT'S GOT TO BE TRUE

I just meant is China sure they want to provoke us this way. I don't know what we will do about it, especially given both sides' nuclear capabilities and the potential for catastrophic losses upon escalation, but this seems like a pretty flagrant violation of airspace that we're going to have to do something about.

From the Twitters;

There are so many Chinese balloons hovering over the US - they’ll soon have their own hunting season
I was just wondering today what the bag limits would be. I mean, states usually set the limits for each species but states don't own the sky so the feds would have to set bag limits for balloons so they don't become extinct. Size limits and restrictions during spawing seasons would also be important.

ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz first reported that when fighters were scrambled, the pilots did visuals, got images and said there was no sign the object had propulsion. It was described as "cylindrical and silver-ish gray" and seemed to be floating, a U.S. official said.

Well according to CNN TV this evening the unidentified craft "shattered on impact", so I don't think it was a balloon.

Oh great...NOW who's going to talk to the whales?

another one over montana

reports say these are the size of a volkwagon beetle. the one shot down at 1pm today over canada is not the same "profile" as the one shot down over alaska. the one they'll shoot down tomorrow over montana is being monitored. they are silver/grey and cylindrical.

I am curious how nervous people are after this incident.

1-10 scale: 1 being like "balloon...what balloon?"...10 being you ordered an extra Ham radio set off the dark web.

I'll go with 2.
Time for another vote.

After this object was shot down in Alaska with reports it was ”interfering with the sensors” of the F-22 that shot it and now China saying they have a object near a port city they are bringing down.

I‘m moving my balloon-con meter up to 2.5.

I wasn't kidding at any point of this.

I'm moving the balloon meter to about a five from a three already.

None of this has been good.

Any realItic idea on what this all is?

A well-armed nuclear power deciding they want to, at the very least, invade two giant nations' airspace and **** with their militaries and officials.

Really, no big deal. Better to joke about it.
Or worse even. There were reports about this object over Montana (that now supposedly doesn't exist) that pilots flying by couldn't figure out how it was being propelled.

This is about the 2nd one, the one shot down north of Alaska:

F-35 fighter jets were sent up to investigate after the object was first detected on Thursday, according to a US official. Kirby told reporters that the first fly-by of US fighter aircraft happened Thursday night, and the second happened Friday morning. Both brought back “limited” information about the object.

But the pilots later gave differing reports of what they observed, the source briefed on the intelligence said. Some pilots said the object “interfered with their sensors” on the planes, but not all pilots reported experiencing that. Some pilots also claimed to have seen no identifiable propulsion on the object, and could not explain how it was staying in the air, despite the object cruising at an altitude of 40,000 feet.

The conflicting eyewitness accounts are partly why the Pentagon has been unable to fully explain what the object is
, the source briefed on the matter said.

... and now China saying they have a object near a port city they are bringing down.
Trying to find an article about this. Is this in mainstream news outlets yet?

EDIT: Found something from Bloomberg via Yahoo News. South China Morning Post has it, too. American network news, CNN, NYT, WSJ, WaPo, etc. not touching this yet.
I saw this on Drudge who grabs pretty much anything (they also had that linked that story that I guess was not real with the video of the balloon being shot down over Montana last week) but it looks like this report is from Bloomberg whereas that Montana story was from a more tabloidish outlet.

This story is really light on details so hopefully it’s more of the same false reports or outlets being tricked. China shooting down stuff is obviously an unwelcomed addition to all this.

Bloomberg I expect to be a bit better about posting stuff but we will see.

That report about not knowing how is was propelled was about the 2nd object, the one shot down north of Alaska.

This is the 3rd one, the one shot down over Canada.

“I ordered the take down of an unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace. @NORADCommand shot down the object over the Yukon. Canadian and U.S. aircraft were scrambled, and a U.S. F-22 successfully fired at the object,” Trudeau said on Twitter. The object was “cylindrical” and smaller than the suspected Chinese balloon shot down last weekend, Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand said on Saturday evening.

Nobody knows for sure and if they do they aren’t telling.
From another board -- not particularly enlightening with specifics, but a good take overall:

Poster1: Anything our government shares with us in public also tells the enemy how much we know.

Poster 2: Government officials have been making statements to let us know how much they know — without telling it to us. That’s what [Royal Canadian Air Force] Major [Olivier] Gallant was doing. Here is more of that from the Washington Post:

“All of the objects are similar in certain ways and then dramatically different in certain ways. What we don’t yet understand is what sorts of technology are in there,” the official said. “Really capable technology can be very small and portable. So the size doesn’t tell us a whole lot.”

The official said the current U.S. assessment is the objects are not military threats.

This is about the Montana radar anomaly.

A short time later, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) released the following statement regarding the airspace closure over Havre:

NORAD detected a radar anomaly and sent fighter aircraft to investigate. Those aircraft did not identify any object to correlate to the radar hits. NORAD will continue to monitor the situation.

The false alarm and response comes on the same day that an "unidentified object" was shot down over western Canada.

Even if it's just a naked CCP release ... it's newsworthy that they're going to put on a show of "shooting something down".

Yep. Am hoping it is completely fabricated.

But, totally makes sense that China would do something like this just to save face / look tough / distract, etc.

The world is truly crazy. From pandemic to UFOs in our airspace to the airborne toxic event in Ohio that appears to be part of a mass cover-up.

Here's a fearmongering headline from a Baltimore TV station:

"Warplane shot down object over northern Canada, Prime Minister Trudeau says"

Article says nothing at all about a warplane, or any type of plane.
Very cleverly crafted. The possible confusion over what's meant is just part of the charm of that headline.

The "warplane" in the headline refers to the US fighter jet that fired on the object. However, a quick scan of the headline reads more like "Warplane shot down object over northern Canada, Prime Minister Trudeau says". As if it was a Top Gun-type aerial battle or something.

A little more detail on the UFO near China

The Qingdao Marine Development Bureau sent a message to fishing boats that an unidentified flying object was detected in waters near Rizhao and authorities were preparing to be able to shoot it down, Shanghai-based news outlet The Paper reported on Sunday.
Fishing boats were ordered to be on alert and “avoid risks”, the report said, without saying when the message was sent or when the object was sighted.
“If debris falls around your boat, please help take pictures as evidence. If conditions allow, please help salvage it,” the message said.

The sighting comes as the People’s Liberation Army holds a week-long military exercise in the Bohai Strait, an area connecting the Bohai Sea and the northern part of the Yellow Sea.
