49ers at Falcons (1 Viewer)

CK is going to finally show his nerves.
I don't know if it will be nerves, but I can see him making some bad decisions.
The first team that doesn't rush him at all and makes him a pocket passer will beat him. I don't know why the Packers got away from that late in the game (they blitzed him twice on third downs in the second half??????). But if they had kept rushing three and dropping guys into coverage I feel that game would have been WAY closer. You could clearly see early in the game Kaep was uncomfortable in the pocket... which is one of the reasons he ran so much. There would have been no where to run if they had dropped everyone into coverage. I'm not sure the Falcons have the linebackers to do that, but I think the Patriots will be able to do so in the Super Bowl.

Man, nobody giving Atlanta a shot in this game.

How did SF tie and lose to STL this season? I didn't watch either game.
Y'all said nobody on this board picked Atlanta last week, well, I did. And I am picking them again this week. The people here have been waiting a LONG, LONG, LONG time for this. The crowd is going to be be going Wild. CK is going to finally show his nerves. If we are winning at half time, I am sure we will win. SF fans are just being selfish. They already have many Super Bowl wins. We have none. It is time for somebody else to win! We are going to RISE UP!
To be fair, he already did show his nerves while getting spanked by Seattle. Hopefully your crowd noise and a swift start like last week will throw him off and send him and Harbaugh home crying. Good luck!eta: and I put $ on it too.
I don't think nerves are an issue for Kaep. Nobody was beating SEA in their house this year (or the the future seasons for that matter).Win or lose in a couple weeks, the outlook is very bright with Kaep leading the charge.

Hope you didn't bet too much :bye:

Naw, I don't bet too much. $10. However, nerves were definitely an issue for him in Seattle, which is all I was pointing out. You could see him wide eyed, confused and panic stricken all game long. But every QB will go through that and that probably helped him a lot in getting it out of the way and not letting it get him down today.

Nolan should be on the phone with Jeff Fisher if he's smart. I won't pretend I watched either of the 49ers/Rams games but it's obvious from the results that Fisher had a good gameplan against CK. I don't think you can assume SF will play great like they did last week - this will be CK's 5th road start ever and he's 2-2 in the first 4. I think the crowd noise could be a factor so it's imperative for Atl to not fall behind early and keep the crowd in the game. I have more thoughts but the biggest thing Atlanta can't do is turn the ball over. If Ryan has stupid INTs like he did this past Sunday (even if the first one was partly on Gonzo) then it won't matter what else Atlanta does.
The turnovers killed the Falcons chances - they needed to play almost perfect to win and didn't. Disappointing thing is that I think ATL could beat Balt but didn't think they matched up well against NE.

Great game. Lucky enough to find seats on the 50, 17 rows up. Not many times I get to see the 49ers play in big games living in this part of the country.

Oh man! That must have been an awesome game to be at. I noticed in the post game wrap up, there were a lot of 9er fans at the game. Was that the case?

Are the Falcons still exposing the NFCW or are they done doing that for awhile? Blowing a 20 pt halftime lead and winning on a last seconds FG and blowing a 17-0 nothing and losing, both at home... Someone got exposed, but I'm not sure it was the NFCW.

:goodposting: 49ers got the California Trophy as well as the NFCC trophy today. Nice to see Willis and Co. stick it to Mike Nolan.

This aint college ball, where teams get to "claim" victories if their league mates win. Kudos to SF for getting it done, but SEA still lost.

Yeah there was. I saw a fair amount before we went in. I didn't think there were that many but there were probably about 4 sections around the broadcast setup that were on average halfway filled with 49er fans. There were also a substantial number across the field where the 49ers tunnel was. The seats were great, behind the Falcons bench. Not tons of 49er fans where I was. Everyone was cool for the most part. Took a little razzing, especially early on in the game as you can imagine, but had no real problems. Even those guys were razzing me before were cool about it after the game.

I'm not even coming close to claiming victory on anything here, nor do I do it in college ball. This is in response to someone who said early in the 9rs game that Atlanta was exposing the NFCW. I'd like the "weak division" label gone for the singular and sole purpose of not dismissing Seattle's (hopeful) future success because of a "weak division". There are no three teams in the league that I want to see lose more than SF, AZ and StL.

lol, point taken. Still a little bummed after the loss, my apologies.
