5 favorite TV shows ever (1 Viewer)

Tough...

I could choose ones for periods of my life.

I mean dukes of hazard was an all timer for me as a kid but not as a best show ever. I need to think.

cheers

Seinfeld

NYPD make my list so far...i think
The Dukes, The A Team, and Knight Rider was all I needed as a kid. Think I dabbled in Airwolf, Night Court, Quantum Leap, and Wonder Years.
Airwolf was pretty good.

NYPD Blue
Good call. This was a big favorite of mine through the first Jimmy Smits season. Totally forgot about this show.
Once you learn what the behind the scenes was like on that show it's amazing the high caliber work they did. The drama on the screen had nothing on the drama on the set for a long time.
I'm guessing mostly Caruso-related?

My favorite scene is after Sipowicz meets Silvia's family and falls off the wagon, and calls them a bunch of Greek idiots. :lmao:
No actually it was David Milch. He has many demons. Heroin addict, compulsive gambler, etc. He would literally be writing that days script minutes before it was to be performed. By year 7 it was complete chaos and that's a big part of the reason he left.
I loved the show when it was on, at least until the last few seasons. I don't think I made it through the whole run.

Is there a good book on the behind the scenes stuff?
Sepinwall's book (The Revolution Was Televised) goes into a lot of Milch detail, though mostly as it relates to Deadwood. There's a lot of NYPD Blue stuff too though. He was a huge fan.

It's a great book in general.
I didn't realize the same guy created Deadwood. Loved that show.

I think I heard Ian McShane's voice in the new Hercules trailer.

The first three are easy for me:

Twilight Zone

Star Trek (Original Series)

Seinfeld

Coming up with the next 2 is damn near impossible but it would be from this list (going with the bolded).

Games of Thrones

Cheers

Boardwalk Empire

Curb Your Enthusiam

M*A*S*H

All in the Family

Andy Griffith Show

**** Van Dyke

The Sopranos

Mission Impossible

Breaking Bad

Rome

The Walking Dead

Seinfeld

Friends

Cheers

Modern Family

Simpsons

The next 5 would be:

Star Trek Next Generation

Married w Children

All in the Family

Big Bang Theory

MASH

I have not watched much TV in the last few years so my choices are dated.

Agree 100%. Throw in some cartoons and these are the exact shows that I was watching.

Star Blazers

.
Torrent Yamato 2199 some day. It is an updated version of what we watched as kids. I just finished the run with my daughter and we both loved it.
Just noticed it is out on blu ray now: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Star-Blazers-2199--Volume-4-Blu-ray/107108/
It has been out on bluray for a while but it is getting a slow release. I think it is only 4 episodes per release so volume 4 gets you to episode 16.
