______ Passed Away Today, RIP (2 Viewers)

Ugh - comedian Paul Mooney dead.

Arguably, no Paul Mooney, no Richard Pryor.
first person to ever make me feel stoopit for being white. his extra-special genius was that i didnt want to hit him after. he also made the first best sense on reparations, which i been trying to remember where on TV i saw it so i could find the vid online for 20 yrs. the courage to hate right is a very special thing and i hope it brought him some satisfaction, tho i know of no evidence it did. a Master, pure and simple. RIP -

Ex-MLB player Rennie Stennett, 72

Part of the '79 "We Are Family" Pirates and the only player to ever go 7 for 7 in the modern era. Also one of the great names in MLB history.
People from the Cincy area might know what I'm talking about. I'm from Pittsburgh but lived in SW Ohio for a while growing up. WLW had the Gary Burbank show, and part of this was a segment called "Sports or Consequences." Listeners would call in and ask the hosts and others in the studio sports trivia questions, and you would win gift certificates or whatever if you stumped them. If you ticked them off somehow, they would hang up on you and play a sound effect of an explosion or a tongue getting pulled out.

I ticked them off because they were trying to coax their guest into making a dumb guess, but I screwed that up by letting them know the guess was wrong before he officially made that a response. They blew me up.

Anyway, my question was the 7 for 7 stat with Stennett. RIP even though you got me exploded.

You also had to be careful not to phrase the question like "Can you name....?" because then they'd just yell "NO!" and count it as a correct answer to the question.

:poursout100legs:
First he poured out a hard apple cider. Then he poured out a Zima. Then he poured out a claw thing...but mostly because that's #### is nasty. Then he poured out a Pinot noir. Then he poured out...rip. we read the hell out of that and a bunch of other of his books. Great graphics- so distinctive.

Seeing reports that Colt Brennan died. 37 years old. Awful.

Brennan was found unconscious at a hotel room after ingesting fentanyl. He was hospitalized in Newport Beach, California, and died the following day, at age 37. Brennan had attempted to enter a detox center hours before ingesting fentanyl but was turned away because there were no open beds available

:sadbanana:

He was a fantastic statue as Stockton and Malone were doing their thing. Seriously though, a really good defensive center in his day.
still holds the single season record for blocks (456) and the career average per game (3.5)

These are brutal.  Colt trying to get help, if only there was one bed.  What if one person left that day, or maybe one hadn't got there before him?  Or another facility as an option?  Awful for loved ones to think about what could've been, but for that.

The bicyclists, doing what they love, healthy living?  Even worse.  I'm still surprised how many people are so comfortable and committed to something where someone they have zero control of, can end their life any next second.  I guess for me it's the sheer amount of people I see occupied with their phones while driving these days.  And the swerving that's abundant.

They obviously deem the overall risk worth the reward, fair enough.  But in certain zones that seem more dangerous, I just don't see the point.

Appears Eaton wasn't hit by a car, but still.

Gavin MacLeod, aged 90.  I always loved his sense of humor.
Obscure tidbit:

"Enough with the negative waves, Moriarty!! - Donald Sutherland in Kelly's Heroes. Gavin was the tank mechanic  constantly #####ing throughout the flick.  After 'Oddball' bought the German tank that blew open the bank Gavin's character called it a piece of #####.

Dude, that is not obscure.

really?

because I can't imagine that anyone under the age of 55 would know about a movie called "Kelly's Heroes" - much less that some rando sitcom bald dude was in it.

Came on to see if anyone posted this.  Have this song on my ipod (of like 50 songs).  Always wondered what kind of life he led - calling himself BJ.
He called himself B.J. because his little league baseball team -- in Texas -- already had multiple kids named Billy Joe.
