A player (or two or three) you wish your team would get rid of. (1 Viewer)

Who would you like your team to be rid of? And why?

Ill start - Steelers...

C- Sean Mahan. There has to be 25 guys in the draft who could play better then he did last year and with more potential, be they centers, guards or tackles.

QB- Brian St Pierre. He is a complete waste of a roster spot. He cannot improve on how bad he is, and if he ever played he is an automatic loss. Though it looks like the team is going to cut him if Zabransky can show anything. I don't know how BSP stayed on the team last year.

Dallas Cowboys

-Marcus Spears this tub of lard has been a bust since he got to Dallas. He talked a big game when Parcells left but reverted to his old ways.

-Roy Williams where do I begin? How about horsetackles. Thats a good start. Then there is always the play were he is the last defensive player and decides to hit the RB or WR with his shoulder and not wrap up and of course the RB or WR studder for a second then sprint to the endzone. And lastly Roy is absolutely horrible in coverage. He is overweight doesnt workout in the offseason I dont believe his heart is in the game anymore.

Cincinnati Bengals

John Thornton - The definition of an undersized underachieving DT that has been the very foundation of a crappy run D for the Bengals for years.

Ill probably be back for more.

Packers - Rob Davis the long snapper

Now that Favre's retired, Davis - who is 40, is single-handedly screwing up the Packers average age per player. :goodposting:

As a Chargers fan, I have never been a big fan of Shawne Merriman's mouth or his dancing. I'd miss his talent, but I wouldn't miss him.

Im close with Willie Reid. In addition to not staying healthy, he's shown little to nothing as a receiver or a return man. Another 3rd round pick down the drain...

For the Saints:

On a more serious note.

1. Jason David. This one is pretty obvious. I heard from friends who were Colt's fans how bad he was going to be for us. How he was good in coverage the majority of the time, but that he would give up 1-2 big plays/game. They were absolutely right. I truly hope he's not in the starting lineup at all this year.

2. Devery Henderson. He just isn't that good. His hands are atrocious and he's killed many a drive because of dropped passes or blown easy scores.

Eagles

LJ Smith- He will never acheive his full potential. Cares more about the perks that come from being a

football player than actually putting in the work to be a better player. Oh well, he can be

someone else's problem next year. Unfortunetly we don't have a serviceable option this year.

Seattle:

This list begins and ends with Shaun Alexander. If we could ditch him for a 0 cap hit, it would have been done already.

Other than that, I am pretty happy with this team.

Jets-

If he is actually complaining about the jets signing Free agents, Laverneous Coles. I have zero tolerance for a player who would rather his team re-structure his deal (despite them already offering to guarantee him the final 11 mil he has coming to him) over signing talented guys to fill holes.

Most of the others are already gone. Justin Mccariens was the big one. I hated him o so much. i would love for Bryan Thomas to get his walking papers. The guy played hard in his contract year and disappeared again right after. Although, to be fair, they did move him off the weak side, which is probably his best position.

Most the Colts I'd want to get rid of are FAs anyway. WR Aaron Moorehead tops the list - he better not be re-signed (and I'm sure he won't be). DE Josh Thomas won't be back - he has no pass rushing ability.

The one guy who isn't a FA that I'd want to get rid of is Charlie Johnson. I don't want to see him play LT for the Colts ever again - Michael Toudouze did a better job as the #2 LT than Johnson did. I hope the Colts replace him in the draft.

Oh - I fogot about Kenton Keith. They need a backup RB that can catch the ball and block. His hands of stone cost the Colts dearly in the playoffs.

Seeing so many people name players that their teams already got rid of reminds me of that Seinfeld bit. "Booooo! Wrong shirt! Boooo!

I'm not as down on Spears. He's been a dissappointment for sure. He has not shown that he is 1st round talent. But he's at least been serviceable. As a backup I'd be very happy with him. I'd like to bring someone better in but until then, Spears will do. Can't agree more with Williams. I think he'd be gone already if it wasn't for the cap hit.I'm not happy with BJ as the backup QB either. I think we can do better. As long as Romo stays healthy, it isn't an issue but if BJ has to start 3-4 games, I'm afraid we could miss the playoffs. There are a few others (mostly backups) I think could be improved on but they're all cheap and would be gone the second we find someone better.

Rodney Harrison: has developed such a dirty reputation that he draws phantom 15yd unsportsmanlike penalties every game. Plus he's just not that good any longer. Time to move on - bring it on, Tank Williams.

Eidted to say that those phantoms are in addition to the ones he deserves.

I don't think I've seen many phantom calls called on Harrison. He typically earns his penalties.

49ers are doing a good job of cleaning up the crap this offseason.

Derek Smith--hate the guy. slow, soft, and ineffective

Kwame Harris--run block good, pass block, not so good (think serano in Major League)

would rather have his mouth then Rivers'until the playoffs i wanted the chargers to get rid of Jammer and keep florence. Jammer hasnt lived up to his pick and contract status and is constantly in the leaders for illegal contact and PI fouls. As teams stop throwing at Cromartie, Jammer better increase his picks from 1 to around 8 this year or he needs to go next year too.

ATLANTA FALCONS

Michael Turner - as a fan, I hated this pick-up esp for 36 million.
Good call. He's been a real disappointment ever since he's been with the team. I mean, I have as many yards from scrimmage as he does with the Falcons.

Correct me if I am wrong but i believe BSP is already a free agent ie Steelers don't need to cut him.

Vikes already did it when they got rid of Dwight Smith.Another guy they need to replace is Brooks Bollinger.
They should try to replace Bollinger with a good QB since they don't have one. I try to root for the Vikes, but they need to address that position.

Browns

HC Romeo Crennel - I'm one of the few who doesn't give him credit for the Browns going 10-6 last year. The guy came to our team with the premise of being a defensive minded coach. He was to bring toughness back the Browns defense. And while the talent he inherited may not have been the best, he hasn't been able to elevate anyone's game on the defensive side of the ball. IMO, our best signing this offseason, was Phil Savage not letting Rob Chudzinski, our O-coordinator, go to another team. In a year or 2, Chudz will be in and Romeo can do what he does best...eat himself to the point of making people who look at him, want to go on a diet.

WR Travis Wilson - You were drafted in the 3rd round 2 years ago. Now, we're not expecting you to be the next Randy Moss, but seriously...2 catches for 32 yds? Maybe you should pace yourself, buddy? God forbid you ever reach 100yds...

I hope you are right. It still shows himn on the roster everywhere I look.

As a Ravens fan who thought they should have blown it up this offseason, I wanted the following to go:

Ray Lewis

Chris McAlister

Samari Rolle

Trevor Pryce

Jon Ogden (may retire & should)

Mike Flynn (already cut)

Steve McNair

Derrick Mason

Mike Anderson

Anyone else over 30

Besides McAlister, I like all of these players. And all, except probably Ogden at this point because he can't stay healthy and maybe Flynn, can still be productive players. But I think the Ravens' window has closed with this group, or is very close to it. New coaching regime coming in & I thought it would be a good time to turn the roster over.

I think there are a lot of Patriots fans who would take exception to your perspective. Crennel is succeeding in turning a moribound franchise into a winner. Think about this: the Browns are going to be FAVORED TO WIN THEIR DIVISION next year (no disrespect intended to the Steelers).Think about where Mangini and Weiss have gotten their teams to. Crennel is the head coach; not just an offensive coordinator. I think you are under-appreciating what you've got.

SA is a no brainer. I wish they'd have cut bait on Branch as well and kept Hackett. Branch has been in the league for 6 seasons and has yet to achieve a 1000 yd season and has only been healthy for one season. Not a No.1 reciever IMO. He's getting paid for one game in his career(Superbowl MVP) and it was for another team no less.

Beat me to it. Where's Redman?

Fat jokes always make you look so sophisticated and objective.

Roy's as good in pass coverage as any nose tackle in the league.

Can I count Herm Edwards and Carl Peterson in this?????
Aint no KC fan but Amen Brother, Amen. Edwards is on of the nicest men in football and one of the worst Coaches. M&M is much worse in Detroit than even Peterson.49ers Fan: Get rid of the entire team except Frank Gore and Patrick Willis.

Bills

WR Josh Reed.

They say he has great hands. But I see him dropping quite a few passes. And last season he pulled away from the ball to avoid a hit and blamed it on the sun or some crap. He's not fast, not explosive. I think he's a waste of roster space.

I'd also like to see the entire group of weak DTs vanish. They get manhandled all game long.

I normally would say Dwight Smith, but he is gone.

After him it gets to be a little tough. If I had to choose, I would say Kleinsausage. I know a lot of vikes fans love him, but he does nothing for me.
