If costs can be held to 10% of existing windmills then there is a viable renewable alternative in place.

It remains to be seen if it will be as efficient as that but they claim to have been able to generate more power than needed to keep the power running.

They expect to be able to deploy commercially viable 2MW kite systems by 2020
