Saw this guy play a couple of times.. notably against dallas... what are his strongest attributes... does he have the long ball to hit jennings?... does he have the canon for the out routes?... can he get out of the pocket when necessary?..

if anybody has any info/comparison on this guy id appreciate it...

GB fans may be able to give you a more up to date scouting report but after watching much of Cal career, the Dallas game and 2-3 of his GB preseason games/scrimmages, here's what I got.

what are his strongest attributes
Short to mid range passing game. Crispness, tightness of his game.I think he fits perfectly into a west-coast offense where his short-mid range game is emphasized. It's interesting that he was drafted by GB since I've always seen him as a Matt Hasselbeck clone who was a couple years more advanced in terms of development. He's a little streaky like Hasselbeck where both can really catch fire at times but is more of a guy who is intelligent and confident enough to crisply execute a WC scheme at a high level.
does he have the long ball to hit jennings?
This was his weakest area in college and where it seems he'll have the most to prove. He threw 90% of his deep balls at Cal on a line which caused him to miss a number of open receivers. GB fans may have a better idea where he currently stands here.
does he have the canon for the out routes?
Rodgers may not have a Jamarcus arm but out routes and deep combacks have been a strength because of the fact that he spins almost all his throws with a ton of pace and has a nice release. He isn't a guy who resorts to touch passes worrying about accuracy so he's usually out there throwing ropes. He gives his guys a good opportunity to pile up YAC like Favre.
can he get out of the pocket when necessary?
Yeah, he's a pretty good athlete. Just like in the Dallas game he'll make a quick, well timed quick to run about 2-3 a game which usually results in a first down. He's not a scrambler who will run around, make a DE miss and then throw downfield however. I don't think he'll make broken plays like Roethlisberger, Favre, or even Brady. In the past he was more of either a pocket passer or a quick get-off runner.

People wanted to compare him to Pennington for some reason when he came out but he's opposite in almost every area. I think he and Hasselbeck share a lot similar qualities.

The word on Rodgers before the draft was he was not as NFL ready as Alex Smith, but had a much Higher Upside(thank god).If Rodgers Stay Healthy, Pack is in the Mix in the NFC this year, if not then......Hey I dont see him throwing blatent INT's to the other team. Love Farve but damn dude could chuck it to the DB's.
