Adrian Peterson (1 Viewer)

Adrian Peterson said Monday the only thing certain that would keep him at Oklahoma another season would be a major injury. The junior running back is looking to rush for 2,200 yards this season and shatter Billy Sims' OU record. He wants to win the Heisman Trophy. And he'd like another crack at the national title. But Peterson said if doesn't accomplish those goals this season, he may never have another chance.

can we not just agree on a few basics here?

NO more "Roy Williams". No more "Adrian Petersons."

I mean come on?

I've got a big "no ####" to this news. Woulda been shocked if he'd announced that he had any intention of staying.

What team, that isn't in dire need of o-line/d-line help(and this eliminates the Raiders and Packers, imo), could pick him?

He will go high to some team, whether they need o-line help or not. Teams that could consider him:

Packers

Cleveland

Houston

Denver

Jets

Baltimore

Jax

Teams that may have a top ten pick that would be intersted, imo:

Jets

Browns

Texans(although they may not consider a top ten RB a good investment)

any more? It appears it may not be a good year to come out for Adrian

It was a no-brainer, but I'd imagine him seeing what happened to Michael Bush cleared up any thoughts of him staying in school.

IMO, using a first round pick on a running-back, when you have a terrible offensive line, is a waste of cap-space, unless the guy is a once in a decade talent. But who the hell knows what Ted Thompson is thinking? I believe he made the right call in picking Hawk over Davis, but time will tell what his philosophy is.

I bet Michael Bush's injury never crossed his mind. I agree with the earlier poster that said he'd come out after his freshman year if he could. Even in high school, it looked like he was biding his time until he could make it to the NFL.

True, Peterson actually wanted to come out before he stepped foot on campus.

Every high pick can only plug one hole. A running back is a safer option than a QB, IMHO. Plus, you never know when you're going to end up with Robert Gallery if you go ahead and use that high pick for an offensive lineman. Great running backs can make an offensive line look a little better. Not sure you can say that about every position.

Did you see that last tackle?... Oregon game / 4th quarter...

That was an akward fall to say the least... "Roy tackling TO" style...

Peterson immediatly grabbed his right knee... but seems to be fine...

No Michael Bush please...

As a Jets fan I would love to get him after drafting an LT and C this year.
Then you must hope your beloved J-E-T-S don't win too many this year (that should be a given!)... because he certainly won't be there at the 4th spot in April...

I admit that I've only seen Peterson a couple times, but from what I've seen, K.Irons looks better to me. Not quite as shifty, but hands down, the toughest back (pound for pound or not) in the draft. From what I saw, I thought Stewart looked as good yesterday.

Your biggest concern with Peterson is the 30 touch average. In terms of a classic RB he is pretty close to a total package.

Seriously, you did not just put up Irons' stats against LSU and say that the "numbers speak for themselves" There may be plenty of legitimate arguements comparing Irons and AP, but don't be so ignorant about football to post that trash as analysis.

Wll, he also posted the numbers vs. Mississippi State, which were pretty similar to the numbers vs. LSU. Is it your contention that MissSt's defense is similar to LSU's?Irons may be a good back, but I don't think he measures up to Peterson.
