The general IQ of this board to me seems higher than the average message board out there, and orders of magnitude higher than any sports board.

It STUNS me that we have people on here that have been ####ed twice by this crew. You all deserve it at this point.

I will now discuss this case.

Since we filed the Complaint in April, the defendants in the state case - Chicago Fantasy Sports, LLC, Wade J. Golab (who is a Chicago police officer) and Robert Smolarczyk, hired a lawyer to defend the case. They filed a Motion to Dismiss the fraud claim (which they lost), and have refused to date turn over the financial documents of Chicago Fantasy Sports. They claim the company has no money, but have refused to prove that by turning over the documents.
Is there any doubt that this clown is a corrupt cop and probably stealing from the citizens of Chicago on a daily basis.I hope you're watching you back buck naked. Kudos to you for pursuing these guys.

My suggestion would be to submit all the legal claims to the internal affairs of the police force where this person works.

That would cause way more pain to these guys than a lawsuit.

Or call the press to let them know of a story about a cop who has defrauded many.

It is Chicago. Don't bet on it.We did that, and basically got a "it's a civil thing" response.

I'd try the media thing like somebody else mentioned. This would make for a good news story and if a reporter from the Tribune came sniffing around that might change their "it's a civil thing" stance in a damn hurry.

I guess you missed this: October 17, 2010 - A Department Commendation was presented to: Det. Wade J. Golab. Not a police officer an award winning Detective. So good luck with that.

You gotta be kidding right? If Chicago is like any other major US city, THAT'S what makes it a story.

Like I said 'good luck with that'. Tell us how you made out?

Wade: Go ahead and print this page out, put it in your "whiner" file, and give it to Peter so he can whine some more before the Court about these truthful facts being told to the public.Happy New Year.
What was all that about? Happy New Year. Wade is very happy and alittle richer this year. 50K plus interest, year after year. It adds up.Wade J. Golab and Robert J. Smolarczyk look unstoppable. At burning FF players out of money. Can a Fantasy site stop them=NOCan a Lawyer stop them=NORobert said please step aside and get out of the way, if not Wade will just throw you aside. More to come at 5:00PM.

Hmm, the Bears are in the playoffs, no? So that city will be paying attention to football a little longer than most. Could be an interesting side-bar type of story. The media likes to have those.

I would call Internal Affairs again and tell them the Tribune will be breaking the story by the end of the week and saying that they are not cooperating.

I would write the story for the Tribune and Chicago Sun Times. Include the questions to ask and the elements of your case. Make sure to include how the Police Internal Affairs is covering this up as well.

Make sure to use FRAUD, PONZI Scheme, Bait and Switch terms throughout the article.

I would go for a #### hits the fan type of thing and include as many people as possible in making this a big story.

Actually I would probably do something extreme so I might not be the best guy to get advice from. I generally think these kinds of jerks expect the rest of the world to play by the rules and sue them, etc. I doubt I would play by the rules. I would make sure the wife knew that she and her private school kids are now in play. Maybe a nice package to her that spells out her husband has defrauded many fantasy football players and that they are pissed. Include nice photos taken of the kids at their private school too.

Memo to self. Do not cross David Dodds...:goodposting:I know there's a couple of newspaper connections within FBG. Any with the Trib or Sun-Times that can get the story to them?-QG

To me these guys are no different than the robber that breaks into your house and steals from you. Most of us would shoot such a robber on our property. Maybe if we are feeling nice, we just beat them silly with a baseball bat. In this case you know exactly who stole from you. He has money to send 4 kids to private school...but not pay out the prizes owed? And he then opens the door in 2010 to fleece more people. Sorry, these guys are the robbers that broke into my house. I would treat them as such. If a robber breaks into my house, I am not looking to sue him.

Going back to 2008, message board posts suggest that this guy claimed to be buying AFFL and couldn't honor payouits for prior year.

Going forward from there, message board posts suggest the same pattern is repeated, that the AFFL enterprise is operated by a different LLC each season, and each season the parent LLC foes bankrupt.

It truly seems odd that the AFFL brand wouldn't be retired, but message board posts suggest it keeps suckering them in, so hey...

So, to the letter of the law, message board posts suggest the Golab cat is running an a series of enterprises which are plundered and bankrupted annually, in some way that is technically legal.

Yet, if what message board posts suggest is true, might there not be way by which the pattern of failed LLCs could be used to demonstrate an ill intent or conspiracy? That is, while each wronged party might have a beef with one link in the chain, couldn't the chain of companies show something different. Isn't there any way to get this out of the civil arena and into the criminal arena? How did he AFFL receive payments? Checks by mail? Mail fraud? Interstate? Does this thread have a counterpart on the FFA, where all the slacker lawyers hang?

You want to go and beat this POS's head in with a baseball bat then go for it. Threatening the kids is not cool. :goodposting:

Agreed, the whole kids' picture thing is beyond strange. If you want to be a tough guy, threaten the man, not the man's kids. That's just sick and weak.

If these clowns have no problem taking $$ out of other's families pockets, why on earth would anyone care about their families? The guy has brought his own family into this. I'm guessing defrauding people out of thousands and thousands of $$, yet living a lavish lifestyle doesn't sit too well with people.I like David's suggestion going to the media.

It is not the kids' fault that their Dads are dooshbags. I don't think Dodds was serious about it anyway (at least I hope he wasn't).

I agree. It's too bad kids don't have the ability to choose their father. I didn't take David's comments as you did. He brought up the suggestion going to the paper(s) there & I agree with.People like Wade aren't worth buying a ball bat for.

Dodds wasn't serious. If he was, he'd say something like "Actually I would do something extreme so I might not be the best guy to get advice from. I generally think these kinds of jerks expect the rest of the world to play by the rules and sue them, etc. I doubt I would play by the rules. I would make sure I took his advertising money. Maybe a nice thread move from here to the message graveyard of Looking for Leagues Forum when the scandal broke, so no one reads it."

I felt the point of the kids pic was to get his attention. A threat against him he would probably just laugh off. A pic of his kids? That will get anyone to take notice and realize maybe its just not worth it. Although I wouldn't do this if I lived in Chicago as you would probably somehow get pulled over and with a kilo of coke found your trunk.

AFFL Told Winners Funds Tied Up

We reported last week about Chicago Fantasy Sports being sued in Illinois court by its AFFL grand-prize winner over troubles paying out. FSB.com has learned that the company sent a letter to prize winners in February to say that payments would be delayed.

Let me assure you, that we have the money necessary to complete the payouts this year and in the future,
So in other words, you've got less than 12 hours to pay...

It looks like the AFFL is once again moving full speed ahead despite not paying previous winners from 2009. They can be found on the following site - ScumbagsMight I suggest everyone contact the host site and ask why he is supporting scammers, even if you are not owed money.

How fitting that Mike North would endorse these jagbags. This coming from the guy that wanted the Bears to use their FIRST ROUND PICK on Sebastian Janikowski instead of Urlacher.

These guys are still kicking and running a 2011 contest.

The head of AFFL was just interviewed on Fox Sports Radio and heavily promoted as well.

They decided to take fantasy football advice calls from the country and the first call blew up the AFFL for still not paying out winners from 2009. The commish had very little to say and he and the host were taken aback for sure. Something to the affect of "We're going to work to rectify all those issues."

It's only been two years... unreal...

He'll be on promoting again later in the week around 11:30 - not sure what night.

Bob Smolarczyk (AFFLCommish) was on the Mike North show on Fox Sports Radio this morning offering 10% off on teams in the AFFL.

I assume they finally paid everyone since they can afford multiple segments on the radio pimping the AFFL.

As far as the show goes, it was just awful. North knows nothing about fantasy football. I turned it off when he was asking Bob about this RB Johnny Knox from the Bears and where to draft Henne because of the fan reaction in Miami.

Anyone else catch the show?

:X
