After 1 week, how much would your draft change? (1 Viewer)

Is it not amazing?

After 3/4 of the NFL games have been played on the first Sunday how much would draft orders change? I would say quite a bit.

I have had 4 league members call me already saying..I I had known...

What would you have done different?

I would have taken Kitna in all of my leagues..he will give you great value.

being a Lions fan - you should be ashamed for passing on him . . . and this was a decent performance against a good defense . . . and CJ isnt even up to speed yet . . . LOL . . .

Passed on Adrian Peterson in the 4th for Lee Evans. Ignored Randy Moss in the 5th. GOOD CALL, EXPERTSSSSS

I wouldn't have done anything different. My first 5 picks:

1.5: Alexander

2.8: 85

3.5: Portis

4.8: Edge

5.5: Kitna

Pretty good so far.

I wish I could brainwash my brother into selecting someone else 1 pick before I was gonna pick Randy Moss. Instead I got Reggie Brown.

Ignored Randy Moss in the 5th.
Randy is the only player my opinion has changed on. I thought he could be good again, but still didn't take him in any league. Could have had him CHEAP in keeper / dynasty leagues this off season and a good value in redrafts.Would have taken Portis in the one league I didn't.

Passed on Adrian Peterson in the 4th round and took Donald Driver.

Not that I'm worried about Driver in the slightest or anything. I had my two starting RBs and knew my leaguemates would let more RB value slip. But I was regretting that one even after the draft, and moreso today.

I would have loved to taken Kitna, but he went 5th round when there was a run on QBs. I got stuck with Vince Young in the 6th. But I did load up on Detroit WRs....Williams in the 4(1st), Johnson in the 8(12th) and Furry in the 12th.

I would have reminded myself that Deion Branch is a useless little hobbit who's screwed me twice before...but I'm too dumb to learn from the past. So my 5th rounder gave me exactly 0 points... :wall: :wall:

Peterson and Randy Moss in 5th round are looking like steals right now.

Alexander looks like he may be back, should have went 3rd or 4th pick.

Portis went in the 4th in our draft, way too low.

Oh, that's easy. Would have taken Chris Brown in the 7th instead of FatDale White.  ;)

Regardless of what Fisher said going into Week 1, I saw the preseason...Brown looked good. Shoulda gone with my gut.

I agree..Branch is the most overpayed WR in the NFL!The guy is a #3/KR type of player.

Things I may have been wrong about:

1. I had Larry Johnson ranked ahead of Addai, Addai looked very good.

2. Randy Moss wasn't really on my radar, shame on me

3. Drafting a JaX running back, period

LJ at 3, TWICE.

Ronnie Brown in the 2nd, TWICE.

Avoiding Moss, Lynch, S Smith.

Not considering Gates as early as he was drafted.

Only getting Portis in my last draft after I bought into the hype.

Not drafting AD.

I don`t see MJD repeating last years stats.
where are the "MJD is God threads"???
JAX game was an aberration. They are better running the ball. Looked better in the 2nd half after Del Rio I'm sure gave them an earful. Killed their drives though with bonehead plays, including MJD's fumble.

Looks like I hit a homerun with AD in the 4th. Now I don't know what to do with LJ, especially his upcoming schedule. After today, I would have taken Addai or SAlex over him at 4.

1.2) sjax, no biggie, he will bounce back. he was running very hard, he fumbled twice trying to get extra yards. Plus, Carolina has a great front 7

2.11 ) roy williams, there was a wr run, and I needed a true #1 badly. He is fine

3.2 ) portis, love this pick

4.11 ) ADP, he will be a top 10 back this year. He runs with purpose and will get most of the carries over chester 80%

5.2 ) Braylon edwards, not liking this pick at all. Maybe he will pan out, played against a tough steeler D

6.11 ) Calvin, makes up for the Braylon pick

7.2) julius jones, still like him as a bench player for bye weeks

8.11 ) santana holmes, love this pick

9.2 ) chester taylor, good value

in no specific order, delhomme, alex smith, steelers, akers, hackett. decent value

Looks like the braylon edwards pick is my worst. Not sure who was on the board I could have went with instead.

Took Kitna in the 7th :welcome: & Big Ben in the 10th.
same here. quick question though, what do you plan to do on bye weeks? ourconservative rosters maintain that we always keep 2 QBs on our squad, the 2-4-4-2-2-2 formation. do you think there is any trade value out there for either of these 2? im personally a pittsburgher, so i love having big ben, and ive pimped kitna all summer in my fantasy circles, so hopefully they continue to heat it up, and i can up grade a #3 RB or a #1 TE.-biz-

drafting deuce mcallister at (6.8) when peterson went (6.9)

since we can only carry 4 RB, i thoght for sure he wouldnt go for his 4th RB in 6 rounds and that i could get him on the (7.3) turn. didnt happen.

Da Guru,

Maybe you should edit and explain that there's no need for people to list their entire drafts in this thread.

Taking Calvin Johnson was fine.

But... despite the great depth at WR, I still would reconsider that Santonio Holmes for Norwood trade. Holmes is going to be a monster.

I wouldn't change a thing in my drafts, however, if drafting today - I'm not sure some of "my guys" would be available when I got them.

I went with the players I thought would perform and didn't buy into any hype.

So far I am liking my draft outside of #2 RB and TE

I opted for Tom Jones as my #2RB in the 2nd round then went WR WR.

I could have gone with another back or taken a chance on a TE high.

Other then that I like my team ( in my sig )

Took Cooley over Witten, but I don't regret that one much. I suspect they'll have similar numbers by year's end.

I do regret not taking Javon Walker over Lee Evans. I agonized over that decision and it's burned me already.

I took LJ at 1.4. I targeted Addai, but the guy at 1.3 took him (Louisiana league - lot of love for those Tigers). Should have taken Gore.

I will be agressive in trying to trade LJ this week. Thank goodness I got Peterson and Portis later in the draft. If I can't get 1st or high 2nd round value for him, I will hold him. Even in a terrible game, he got me 8 points with only 10 carries. At those numbers (and with a TD or two some weeks) he will be a viable RB#2. That will be acceptable to me as I think both Portis and Peterson will have RB#1 numbers.

He looks like the only reliable option on a bad offense, but his upcoming schedule is brutal and he will take a terrific pounding. The losses in the O-line will cripple the Cheifs' offense this season.

Wish I had Gore.

My drafts are looking extremely good right now.

5 leagues

Minnesota D on all my teams.

Kitna in all but 1.

Portis in all but 1.

Andre Johnson in half.

Travis Henry in half.

I've never had a week 1 this good before. Seems like all the guys that I thought were going to be great went out an proved me right for once. The only change I would have made would be to grab Randy Moss, but I think many of us are in the same boat with that one. Completely out of left field.

Actually I would have made another change as well. No JAX receivers. Drafted Reggie Williams a couple of times.

Do you trade SJax right now? LJ is a stud man, don't do it.

8 team league??
Why would you say that?By the draft position this must be a 12 team league running a serpentine draft (5 in from the end)... but otherwise...Portis' injury had him falling into the third round. Edge was a 4th round candidate, especially if there was a run on stud WRs as it seems there was with OchoCinco going at 2.8. And Kitna in the 5th I think was early for most drafts.

I think you are right about tha one.
Here was my situation...RBs: Addai, Bush, Foster, MorencyWRs: Fitz, Berrian, Calvin, Holmes, Bowe, Williamson, Bryant Johnson, Laurent RobinsonThe guy approached me asking for Holmes. I felt like I needed RB depth more than WR depth. In the long run, I think Norwood will be solid, and this is a dynasty league. But I just feel like Holmes is going to end his career in the strata of Owens and 85.

I would have moved up when I drafted my defenses by a round or two - I missed out on Minnesota and Green Bay, leaving me with Carolina and KC. And I would have moved up in the 4th round to get Peterson. Other than that, I don't see anything I would really change.
