After the first tier WRs who and when? (1 Viewer)

Assuming White, AJ, Calvin, Fitz, Nicks, V-Jax, Austin and Wayne are all gone by end of 2nd (early 3rd) who are you targeting and when? I'm leaning toward Williams TB or Holmes in the fourth myself. Curious on what you guys think.

Also, I'm drafting back end so I'm gonna take one of the studs first two picks. Do you think it wise to take another WR and have two in the first four rounds? I see lots of value at RB this year.

depends on if you start 3 wrs or not. if you do, its all wrs all the time after you have a #1 rb. others wont be drafting 3 rbs so there will be options for you at the rb2 position.

if you start 2rbs and can start a 3rd in a flex slot, and only start 2wrs, well then, dont worry about wrs, no one else will be.

If you are talking non PPR, players like Desean Jackson; Mike Williams Tampa; Mike Wallace Pitts are gold as they are TD producers on their team. They will not necessarily get 80+ catches but they will be at 8+ TDs when it is all said and done.

Jennings ASAP

Wayne has been falling to the mid 3rd. Austin usually is there on the 2/3 turn as well. I wouldn't push it though. If a WR is not there, simply take a top3 QB, top3 TE, that way you have an anchor at 3 positions and then you can hammer away at WR on the 4/5 and 6/7 turns.

Non PPR, grab Mario Manningham on the 4/5 turn. I would try and pair him with Steve Johnson who had 1,000/10TD a year ago. Buffalo will lose plenty, they should be playing from behind. You could also step out there and grab your RB2 if you jus want 1 WR. Grab 2 more WRs on the 6/7 turn like Santana Moss/Chad Johnson, that's a nice veteran double up that should net you in the neighborhood of about 150 receptions, close to 2,000 yes, and probably about 12-15 TD at least between the two of them.

I don't like the 2/3 turn this year after you grab a stud at RB in the 1st.

the value falls off a cliff this year at WR...

I really like Britt and Lance Moore.

Hey Kleck, OK so maybe a Manningham/Lloyd 4/5 turn, Lloyd/S.Johnson, Manningham/Johnson, you can mix and match to your liking. I see what you are saying.

This OP is getting some good advice, we might have to start charging as this has turned into a early position strategy thread for the 2/3, 4/5, and 6/7 turns. Good stuff though, I like these types of strategy threads.

Not one person other than me has mentioned Bowe.

Interesting. Again, I don't think he comes close to 15 TDs but he will get a boatload of targets and will be an excellent WR2 if he slips a little.

Lee Evans in the 10th round. People forget how he had an elite, top ten year. He finally has a QB who can hit him deep.

I'm taking one stud and then loading up on guys like Manningham, Lee Evans, Britt & Lance Moore. Make sure to grab Greg Little when the pickens get slim!

Guys like Britt and Manningham have the potential to move into superstar territory!

I like Collie/Britt over Moore/Manningham in the 5/6, but their values have been all over the board so it really depends on what falls to you.

Nate Burleson could be a sleeper, he's looked good in preseason.
Burleson is not a sleeper. Value yes. Sleeper no.
Unless you are redefining the meaning of "sleeper", Burleson would be the very definition of a sleeper. I expect that he will greatly exceed his current ADP which seems to vary between the 15th and 19th rounds. He was a favorite target of Stafford before he went down. With Hill the looks started going to the TE's more. As long as Stafford is healthy, I think Burleson will put up very respectable numbers, especially in a PPR league.

I wouldn't let it bother you, it's not like the OP listed every receiver that was going in the first 3 rounds, and Bowe will not be available in the 4th.

I had a draft yesterday that everyone was drafting WR's like crazy... don't necessarily know why being a start 2 rb's and 2 wr's with a flex for rb/wr/te ppr and 20 yards per point on receptions and 10 yards per point for rushing yards. This is where the wr's where drafted though.

consistently seeing Santana Moss going in the 7th round which is a crime when you think about it.. you're getting a 93 catch WR that late in the draft??! and he's only going to get better in this, his 2nd year in Shanahan's system...what a value you get with Moss , a starting #1 WR at 7.06?! The Redskins' offense looks very crisp thus far in pre-season..you might be looking at a 100 catch, 1200 yard, 8-10 TD WR in 2011..at 7.06!Manningham is a good pick, but has to work on the dropsies.had a few last night.

Plax at 10.06 is a BARGAIN.

Julio Jones at 8.06 is a steal as well..something tells me Matt Ryan is going to throw a lot in 2011 - M. Turner looks like he's running in mud, he's slowing down bigtime.not sure they can/will rely on the run as much as in previous years.
