Ahmad Bradshaw to Indy? (1 Viewer)

@KBowenColts: Ryan Grigson on Ahmad Bradshaw: He's going to be in here. Were going to take a look at him physically. Said its a normal Tuesday workout.

Kevin Bowen has been covering the Colts since 2010.

Tuesday workouts are routine for every team. Boom Herron is working out for the Pats tomorrow.

Just updating the emergency signing list. Nothing to see here IMO.

yahoo shows Bradshaw as a Colts .... last night he was FA
No he's been listed as Colts on yahoo the whole season. I know cause I dropped him last week. MFL has him as FA. Yahoo is just lazy sometimes updating player teams.

They still have Montee Ball listed as Denver.

Wishful thinking this isn't announced tonight for obvious reasons... But what about this (pure speculation):

Sign him Thursday night after the game or Friday morning and he has 10 days to figure his stuff out. Granted, nothing has probably changed in a year. Just seems like that would make the most sense rather than sign him Tuesday or Wednesday and have him use a roster space for Thursday nights game (or even on the no active list, he's still on the 53).

Hoping I can land him. This guy is going to be huge for fantasy

Doesn't he have a one game suspension to serve once he signs somewhere?

No.

If Bradshaw had officially signed we would have seen an announcement from the team. Hasn't happened yet but I think it will. My guess is that they wouldnt play him on a short week so they will wait to sign him until after Thurs night's game allowing them to address any other concerns with the active roster for this week.

Here is a quote from Pagano after Bradshaw's workout yesterday:

"He's a warrior," Pagano said today. "I think everybody in this room and everybody in our locker room and this organization knew what he did for our football team and what kind of toughness and energy and passion that he brings. He's one of heck of a ball player. Again, he's a warrior. One of the toughest guys I've been around. He's a tone setter. You think back a couple of years ago, and I don't like talking about history, but he set the tone for one of the biggest wins we've had since we've been together here out in the Bay Area. That all started on the first play of the game where he touched the football. He's a great, great player. He's a warrior and we'll see what happens."

Bradshaw suspension was for week 1 regardless of whether or not he had signed a team so he's eligible to play immediately if/when he signs.

Rumors on twitter that signing will be announced this afternoon. However I don't see those rumors coming from any source so it might be just internet buzz. Still I freed up some room and picked him up anyway just in case.

I'm not sure why Indy didn't go this route in the first place. Maybe he wasn't quite ready. Seems like a great fit for him and Gore to split time anyway. Gore is old and Bradshaw has always been effective in a relief role where you can limit him. He's a terrific pass blocker and good receiver and knows the offense, and the Colts don't have much behind Gore anyway. I'm guessing he'll sign after the game and be ready next week, and his suspension should have counted week 1 regardless if he was employed or not. Not great for Gore owners but it's a good real life football move if it happens

That sounds like a signing is imminent to me. Great post VaTerp.

I have a really tough time determining the immediate relative value of Bradshaw if he signs.

To me it splits the value of Gore into two halves (Gore and Bradshaw)

In PPR Bradshaw might be slightly more valuable. In my opinion though, it sucks value from the Indy backfield.

I don't think Bradshaw comes in and has immediate flex value. I just picked him up in my one redraft with really deep benches for depth and potential upside, which I think is real especially if Gore were to miss any time.

Bradshaw was RB9 in ppg last year with 725 total yards, 38 receptions, 8 TDs in just 10 games. That was on roughly 9 carries and not quite 5 targets per game. Its unclear how close to those number of Bradshaw would get this year as Gore is obviously a major upgrade over T-Rich but the Colts have also said they want to limit the touches of their 32 year old starting RB. He's highly unlikely to repeat that sort of scoring efficiency (I think he still tied for the most TD receptions by a RB last year even missing the last 6 games) but there is still some value there. Luck and Indy's offense really need to get it together tho.

I view him as a fill in flex option in larger leagues with RB2 potential should anything happen to Gore.

They probably would have signed him already if Luck was healthy. They keep having to sign Josh Johnson as Luck insurance. Once Luck is cleared and plays I'm guessing they release Johnson and sign Bradshaw.

This being the Colts you know they will mismanage it. They didn't run Bradshaw over a clearly worse T-Rich last year, and likely won't sign and use him sensibly this year. Watch them do something completely out of left field like sign Pierre Thomas instead and give him 3 carries a game and spend the rest of the time in pass protection.

Bradshaw must be too deep a flyer for FBG to recommend. Top 200 Forward has guys like Henry Hynoski, Cierre Wood, Orleans Darkwa and Jay Prosch getting anywhere between 1.5 to 3.6 pts from this week on. Not a mention or sighting of A.Bradshaw to be found. BTW- I do realize he hasn't been signed yet, but a little foresight from the pros...?.... or are all of us in this thread substantially missing the mark?

The Colts play tomorrow. If he was signed tonight, it's highly unlikely he suits up against the Texans. At the moment he isn't on a roster, so there's that too.

I think he's asking if everyone bidding on him tonight is wasting their bid money. this is the easy week to go after him, after he signs the price goes up. Signed or not as of today I would rather have Bradshaw than the players he mentioned, as should fbg.

Im really disappointed Varga is out. I think hes a hands down better runner than Robinson and could do some damage if given more meaningful touches.

Once healthy I think hes a guy to keep on the short list if a team needs a RB.

Opportunity is there, kid just needs to get right.

Correct. That is what i was trying to ask in the original post. Thanks.

Doubtful. No need to let their next opponent know yet. Probably Monday
If they sign him on Monday, it would be the same exact thing as signing him today. Their next opponent (Pats) isn't going to spend any time preparing for the Colts before their next game (against Dallas).

Well, they must cut someone to sign him. Likely Josh Johnson, and likely not until they see Luck look normal in practice.

That's a totally different argument, but since they cut Josh Johnson on Monday and resigned him on Wednesday this past week I don't think they have any problem cutting him again and bringing him back if they need to.
