I understand the need to pile on and make fun of people blessed making tons of money and squandering those opps by being arrested for drugs and guns. 1st of all it is legal to have a gun in this country...it didn't say he held up a convenience store, it didn't say he marched into a bank and opened fire, it didn't say he threatened people with the gun. Have some perspective here. I could pull the racist card out at this point but I'll refrain from it.
And as far as drugs go...what drugs? If its pot I really don't give a spit, if he had a kilo of cocaine...well now we have something to talk about here.
People hate him because he was a 1st round bust but we all have made mistakes in our lives, try not to be the tool that runs and laughs in the face of those we are simply jealous of.
I mean, are you Ahmad Carroll's lawyer?

First off MoP, you have to realize something -- we are a nation of laws. We are supposed to follow these laws, whether you like them or not.
Second, it IS legal to have a gun in this country. I'm a huge advocate of the 2nd amendment, and I don't even own a gun!
HOWEVER, it even said in the article that he was carrying a concealed weapon.....
WITHOUT A LICENSE! That, sir, is against the law...
Third, you could "pull the racist card out at this point..."? Ohh please...

Were you or I there? No. For all we know, he was arrested by all-black officers. Who really knows? Why do people almost immediately jump to the conclusion that it was racially motivated, simply because he was black? Ridiculous...
Fourth, as far as the drugs are concerned. Quit trying to justify it. You're right that it wasn't a kilo of cocaine or anything of the sort. But again, going back to my first point -- we are a nation of laws. You carry illegal drugs, the key word being ILLEGAL, then you must face the consequences. And believe me, I'm politically one who thinks the entire "War on Drugs" is a complete waste of time, and they should be made legal and taxed heavily (and this coming from someone who has never done an illegal drug in his life)! If we feel that certain types or certain amounts of drugs shouldn't be illegal (like pot, for example), then we need to change the laws! If it's illegal, it's illegal! End of story...
Finally, we all have made mistakes. Some, like Carroll, have made much bigger ones than others. It IS easy for those of us in the cheap seats to take shots at targets like this. That, I will agree with. I hope he gets some help before he completely squanders his life, or worse, ends up dead...
