All Aboard the Rainey Trainey (2 Viewers)

The fumbles are an issue. Not sure he takes the job from martin. But the kid is pretty explosive out there.
Are you serious Clark?
its in the bag. coaches love rainey. he fumbled the game away and cost his team a chance to tie against carolina. 2 more today and they still trot him out there.

they obv hate martin. he practices for 2 weeks straight and they wont let him play. its not bc he aint healthy. its bc hes close to getting cut. meanwhile, all the beat reporters are talking about is how rainey is the starter going forward and how much the coaches prefer him.

this guy is gonna be a garbage time monster the rest of the season. martin is a healthy scratch and fumbling every 10 touches wont even get james in the game.

What are you even talking about? What happens when a game is a blowout? They put their 3rd and 4th stringers in there to finish it out. Rainey may have been demoted mid game. The other conclusion is Lovie is the exact opposite of guys like Coughlin, instead of pulling them out he sends them back in there and says learn from your mistakes. Either way you are so far off on this, if Martin got cut he would be claimed by almost every team. Not even the Bucs are that dumb.

We can add this up to your other great calls, about the Bengals dumping Dalton, and signed Josh Freeman because he is better than Dalton and can throw it deep to your boy Green and help you win your fantasy league

You are literally the voice of ignorance.

Didn't Rainey have a couple monster games last year when Dougie was out? Or maybe that was Mike James, can't remember. I do remember those guys combined production made Martin look like just another guy.

They both had a couple of good games but Rainey averaged like 3.7 yards per carry last year. I think James was 4.7 or something, but he had a very small sample size. The production was really no different than Martin's, mostly average or below average games and then boom they would bust out a good game.

Also it is important to watch the games, I remember one game against Buffalo last year where Rainey did nothing the whole game and then found a enormous hole and ran a 80 yarder with a TD at some point. Those types of box scores are great for fantasy but in reality he wasnt productive 95% of the game. In between the tackles he gets you nothing. He is more of a RBBC back.

lol, way to take one smidgeon of a long post completely out of context and use it in a thread that has absolutely no relevancy.

explain how martin can practice for 2 weeks straight and then get deactivated? you know who that happens to? players that arent good enough to crack the lineup and earn playing time. doug martin was a healthy scratch this week. i dont see how it can be any more obv that this is raineys backfield.

lol wut? this happens all the time for players with ankle/knee sprains. Jamaal Charles was practicing today, if he doesn't play Sunday does that mean he's benched?

Well......technically....

16 in PPR
14 for me with fumbles lol
This is why I don't play in ppr leagues. Makes trash players score decent points.
Why don't you go have a drink and relax
Relax? I'm enjoying the Rainey trainy wrecky.
17.5 points in my league.Overall a good play.
Ppr...making scrubs relevant since the dawn of fantasy football.

ffpc likely. That's just the way it is.

Brutal scoring leagues. I feel jipped with Rainey getting 9 points for my opponent.

yea all ppr leagues did was make FFB even more flukey. you can just throw anyone that gets decent playing time in your lineup and compete. this is why FFB is so popular. literally any idiot can win

You should figure out what your lineup should be, and then do the opposite of that.

how about you?

Whew, garbage time was a life saver on this one.

With a half-decent overall score for the week, I'm going to try hard to send Rainey to the Martin owner in my league for whatever I can get. Hopefully he didn't watch the game.

It is pretty ridiculous for a guy w 110 yds, no TDs and 2 fumbles to score 17.

So, going forward how does all of this shake out? Does he even remain with the team? Does Martin come back as a bell cow? The Bucs play a weaker run defense week 4 and Martin will have had 3 weeks of "rest", and the rest of the offense will have 10 days to recover form last night.

he ended up with 2 pts in my league. 1 pt was for a tackle on one of his fumbles

The 10 days of rest is probably why Martin did not play last night ... He should be 100% with fresh legs by the next game

I don't see any way he gets cut. The coaches like him....maybe not as much after the two fumbles last night, but given the way they kept going to him over James & Sims after those two fumbles, tells me they like him better than James or Sims.

But Martin will for sure get the opportunity to start and seize the job for the rest of the year. I'd say 70% of the carries until he struggles again (which is bound to happen) at which point Rainey will be given another shot. All in all, I think it's a messy backfield to rely on week to week.

Sims is on the IR (possibly the temporary one is memory serves). He wasn't available last night away. James had a net of -1 yard last night. They didn't have a lot of options.

Ah, didn't realize that. Regardless, they had James in there plenty and still kept coming back to Rainey

Another game like this and these coaches might be looking for work

PPR or Non PPR is debatable, but not getting penalized for fumbles is ridiculous.
Hate penalizing for fumbles
I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but if you get points for scoring a TD then you should lose points for giving the ball to the other team.
i disagree
Do you have a rational reason as to why you don't think you should lose points for fumbling or do you just own Rainey and wish you had 4 more points than you do now?
