All FBG Mock! (1 Viewer)

Nice of you guys to leave out these critical points after I sign up...I will make do though and give it my best shot. I just hope that is Marshall Faulk and not Kevin Faulk...I think.
Man, you REALLY messed up taking Kevin Faulk that early. What were you thinking? HERD

My sources tell me Kevin Faulk will not only be the feature back, but he has also worked extensively with home-town MLS star Taylor Twelman and will take on all Patriot kicking duties as well, making Adam Vinteri expendable.

Im telling y'all - its all about the 2 min fast drafts, and comment after! Trust me on this one. (So long as you are mocking with others who wont flake and miss their turns to often).

footballman_696969 is our commish. Mabe you should send him a PM and let him know that there is an uprising on the message board that he can quell by replacing onion with the true blueonion ;-).

Its really not my place to do this. I am simply available if those presently involved in the draft want to invite me in.

I'm back. Much to my surprise, Onion hasn't picked.Howard says "Mahalo" to all. I now am wearing a lei and drinking Kona coffee. If anyone wants to come over, I'll share. It's nearly $40/lb and pretty darn good this time.

Im all for whatever makes me not have to wait another hour and a half to watch onion not draft, and then waste another 6 hours on the other side.

What the ####?!?!?! What is taking BlueOnion so ####### long to pick. Jesus Christ can we replace him already?

JAA, In response to your league idea, if we could get through this draft alright, we could call that a practice round, and take the owners who want to, and make a survivor league? I love the survivor leagues on xpert.

In the process of making a selection. Can I select another running back and how many rounds is this draft? The reason I ask is I am trying to select a running back and I am having trouble (been on this expertsite for all of 30 minutes) and was wondering if it is because I have two running backs already.

....and of course the other ONION guy pops up 5 minutes after the switch. :rotflmao: I explained he was a guppie in the shark pool, but in nicer words (I SWEAR IT!).I think he's pissed.

Boy this is not something easily just to jump into. Anyway, I was able to add Garrison to my 'cheatsheet' (which is now empty) and make the selection. Is there an easier way to make a pick?

if you click on 'Draft' it will give you options, then click submit

I have no problem appologizing to Onion, sorry dude, but I hope you can understand our feelings.

I didnt like my pick ... again.I really had to take a RB. I was between SOD and AThomas (and rookies). I think OSmith has the most potential upside of the group. While there are some rookies that could so well, I think they end up special teamers or backups this year.

There are definitely some players (quarterback, wide receiver and kicker) that I am hoping slide back to the 'Hybrid Onions' next round, so I definitely wanted to try and force JAA's hand to make running backs his next two selections. We'll see what comes around.

I still am mostly take best player avail. I had a 4th WR selected, but they were all taken ;)

5.14 Trent Green6.1 Marc BulgerWhy mess with a good thing? 2 rbs, 2 wrs, 2 qbs. All I can say is that once again, the 2 guys I wanted got picked in the 2 picks immediatly before me. Foster or Hearst would have looked nice on my roster.Anyway, I love the Trent Green pick if I do say so. The guy had the best year of his career last year... even with Priest scoring a billion TDs. That tells me he has potential for even more passing tds this year if Priest stumbles just a tiny bit.The Bulger pick was a position pick. 7 teams have QBs, 7 do not, and I have 2 qbs with the potential to be top 5. That means the folks left scramblin could be in a bit of a bind (particularly if it starts a QB 2 run sometime soon). I wanted to motivate people to take more qbs so some of the crumbs fall back to me at other positions. I wouldnt have done this in a 12 player or smaller league, there are too many good QBs, but i thought Id try it in a 14. Lets see if QBs become more scarce than people are used to.I wanted a RB here (as i did last round) but the value again pointed elsewhere. If i end up with a fullback on my roster dont be shocked. I think Bulger or Green provide good trade bait, particularly if i can sneak in a sleeper WR that will let me package Moss or preferably Horn a couple games into the season for a RB.

Im starting to warm up to Shadowmasters team. If his Staley gambit works he'll be lookin good.Team Name remains fierce, and getting fiercer.

I think the Duckett pickup saves his team.Although I've always been down on Boston for some reason, he could also prove to be a steal.

This is definitely good news for the Hybrid Onions. Any quarterback I would be thinking about taking at 7-13 will most definitely be around at 8-2, so I can use the 7-13 pick on another position.

I'm starting to feel better about my team. People don't like Aaron Brooks much because they don't think he competes hard and he hasn't exacltly won a ton of games. But he is a very good FF QB with a quality RB, decent enough WRs, and an indoor track. Funny thing is, I had my "predraft" set 1. Brooks, 2. Bulger, 3. Green and ended up with my 1st choice. Good stuff. Now that my QB position is solid (as always, barring injury) I can focus on getting my hands on some quality depth at WR and RB to offset my Jackson/Jones gamble...RB1 - Stephen JacksonRB2 - Thomas JonesRB3 - Willis McGaheeQB1 - Aaron BrooksWR1 - Randy MossWR2 - Eric MouldsHERD

his RBs r good, but doesn't have all that much upside. Boston's shaky with all his problems and Bruce is declining every year. Shocky still haven't proven himself to be on the same level as Tgonz, but does have the potential to be the top TE.

Or I take 2 QBs the way ive been drafting! But seriously that is very true.

Im going to post the team rosters in reverse draft order so we can talk about each one. That way by the time we get to all 14 the 6th round should be over. Sound good? Here's my team:Buehner's BumsQB TM B FP Marc Bulger STL 0 32 Trent Green KCC 0 32 RB Domanick Davis HOU 0 13 Kevan Barlow SFO 0 10 WR Santana Moss NYJ 0 11 Joe Horn NOS 0 10 Im moderately happy with it. 7 out of 10 stars. There are several teams I have ranked ahead of this one. Its got youth and upside but no guaranteed studs, not surprising for picking 14th. I wish I had a #3 rb. Potentially explosive, but thin.

Call me crazy, but I like ALL of your #2's better than your #1's. At all 3 positions.I like Green way more than Bulger.Barlow over DD.And I may be the lone soldier on this one, Horn over Santana.

The Infamous Hybrid OnionRB Marshall Faulk STL 0 16 Rudi Johnson CIN 0 12 Garrison Hearst DEN 0 9 Maurice Clarett 0 0 WR Derrick Mason TEN 0 11 Laveranues Coles WAS 0 9 Clearly deep at RB, at least 2 of those guys should have good-excellent seasons. I like the WRs, they will produce, thats all there is too it. I wondering how thin he'll end up at QB. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of guaranteed impact players, but again picking this late its par for the course.

My teams are notorious for disrespecting the quarterback position and trying to nab one late in the draft or via free agency. There seems to be a lot of good prospects out there yet, so I am not sure I will use pcik 8.02 on a quarterback as of yet.

Yep, but in a start 2, he should be solid if he figures out who to start each week. I'm willing to bet that the idea is "take Hearst, and take Clarrett who might end up a Bronco." If it works out that way, then its a great move. But if it doesn't shake out that way, both Hearst and Clarrett could be wasted picks.HERD

I am just not sold on the health of Marshall Faulk, so I definitely just wanted some more bullets to put in the gun.

I am VERY down on Marshall this year. I think time is finally catching up to this great player...

Kellen Winslow and Jerry Porter with my back to back picks. I was gon go RB and WR but Winslow might end up producing better than Shockey and Heap. Jerry Porter should be the #1 receiver at Oakland, Im putting my money on the raiders drafting either Gallery or one of the QBs at #2.

I couldn't believe I got TJ in the 3rd at 3.10 - HAD to make that move, even at the expense of WR strength. I did not get a WR1 - I'll have to angle for 2 stronger WR2s to compensate.Boston - risky, but with upside......Reunites with old 'Zona WR coach (whom he flourished under)Has a strong WR opposite in ChambersIs the bigger WR for Red-Zone targets (of the 2 MIA)Still posted 880 yards and 7TDs on a run first team, during an injury plagued seasonBiggest CON is the MIA QB situation..... OH, and the coach. Still, with Chambers, McMicheal, and Boston - I think I could trow a few TDs for the fish if called on.

Holy crap things are moving quick. Porter is a great pick there, he should have gone sooner. Im not so sure about Winslow, there are established TEs that are almost certain to outperform him still out there.

JAARB Stephen Davis CAR 0 14 Onterrio Smith MIN 0 6 DeShaun Foster CAR 0 5 WR Marvin Harrison IND 0 12 Anquan Boldin ARI 0 9 Steve Smith CAR 0 9 This ones tough for me to judge without seeing the final product, but there is huge talent at WR and at least 1 guaranteed serviceable back. Could be a trade away from eliteness, or a sleeper coming through could cement it too.

I am very down on Marshall as well. But the previous regime was not so we'll play the hand. So if th guy who owns Priest was to trade me for Marshall straight up, I might throw Clarett in as a little bonus.

I was working and trolling the FFA a bit, so sorry if these points have already been made.I really LOVE the back to back QB selections that were made - something you should strongly consider from the flop as you can now play two excellent options given the matchup - and QB is the position most subject to the matchup. You can pencil in 15-20 points from the position each and every week since you have two excellent options - only the guys with Manning and C-Pepp can really feel as confident as that. You are screwed a bit on bye weeks b/c you have no starter depth behind either your RBs or WRs - at this particular flop, I'd have probably gone RB-WR or WR-WR and then gambled that two decent guys survived to 7/8, at the most I would have grabbed one WR here and one QB and then I'd have grabbed another QB at the 7/8 flop (and it would have been Green here - I agree with Brit)I am not in love with HERD's team - I think the RB gamble will end up being very costly, even with Moss performing similarly to a RB1. In a flex league, I'd be confident with three WRs and weak RBs, but not in a 2/2 league.Jackson in the second round was a HUGE mistake when there were tons of decent starting options and a more than excellent chance Jackson would have been there on the comeback. I don't hate taking the rook, but as your RB1 after going WR in ruond 1, with tons of other RB options on the board - well, I am betting you are glad this is a mock draft in a no-money league. I will eat my own head if that is a move you would actually make in real life.Overall, I was not suprised that there were so many decent RB options stretching into the third round - even in a 14 team draft - and that the WR and QB pool were still at the top of the skim tank. It was a pleasant affirmation of what I alreadfy know - after the first 8 or 10 RBs, there is a HUGE amount of quality depth and you can definitely score a decent RB2 option - for your bench or as a starter - in the early part of the 3rd round in most drafts this year. That makes those top WRs especially attractive if one drops to the mid 2nd. An Alexander/Holt/Tiki or Shipp lineup is probably better than an Alexander/Rudi-Westbrook-Staley/Chad Johnson-Ward lineupHow far Henry and Tiki dropped also tells me that if you are drafting in the #3 or #4 spot, you can probably count on a RB2 dropping who is almost as good as the guys at the bottom of the first round got on the comeback - that is unique as the guys picking earlky are usually grabbing the very last decent RB2 option as the 19th or 20th RB off the board - this year, we stretch very deep at RB2, and almost everyone should have an opportunity for either a decent RB2 option or a stud WR.Last comment - two QBs in the second round probably skewed this a bit - one is a possibility, but I am surprised a shark league would draft two in the 2nd - and not near the second round flop. Think hard about whether you should do that in real life and look at what Beuner just did - I wil bet anything that one of his pairing will be able to match one or the other of C-Pepp and Manning every single week of the year - especially with the new CB rules - and he got his guys in the 5th and 6th rounds.
