15.08 Joakim Noah, C 00s
I'm kind of amazed that Horford went 5 rounds earlier than the guy who was better at basketball and led Horford's college teams. I buy a little discrepancy because of Horford's sustained excellence, but his peak never reached Noah's. In the five years before his body broke down, Noah was good for 11-11-4, a defensive player of the year award, and three all-defense selections alongside a top-five MVP finish (and another year of receiving MVP votes) - I couldn't find a single MVP vote for Horford, ever. My point is: just like at Florida, they're pretty close...not 5 rounds apart.
I'll happily pair Noah with Leonard and have the budding 2010s team of defense in this house.

With the previous pick Instinctive thought he had signed DeAndre Jordan to a lucrative contract to man the middle for his 2010s team, but Blake Griffin and I flew to his home to convince him to come to a better run organization where he’s loved. In his prime DeAndre Jordan was absolutely unstoppable. He was a double-double machine, with 4 stocks to boot. He averaged over 13 boards for seven consecutive seasons while putting up 12 points on 70%. So stupid how good he and Blake Griffin were together at PF & C.

Thinking about Earl, I would bring up Chris Johnson (CJ2K). Does he belong in the 00s or 10s? He only played two season in the 00s vs 8 in the 10s. Most of his career yards and TDs came in the 10s. However, two of his three best seasons including his history making 2500 yard season came in the 00s. I think there is room for interpretation on placement that goes beyond just counting the years played.

Was sniped for this position a few times in the past couple days so I am finally pulling the trigger. I think he is a notch above those others remaining but it's close.
Interesting tidbit about Brandon: In late February 2008, Brandon and former NFL defensive back Anthony Newman were the victims of an extortion attempt. Both Brandon and Newman received letters demanding money. Brandon and his friend, Timothy Upshaw, went along with the letter's request for Brandon to leave a bag outside of his garage with money inside (though they only placed a single dollar bill and plain paper in the bag). Bobby Hayes, the man responsible for the letters, arrived to retrieve the bag when he was confronted by Upshaw. Police were later called to the scene after a resident heard men talking about killing someone. Bobby Hayes was brought into custody and later released on bail, receiving orders not to contact Brandon, Newman or their families.

Coaches [redacted] and Frank Vogel reduced Vucevic's minutes over the 2015-2017 seasons, mostly in response to some nagging multi-game injuries. His per-minute efficiency remained even as his counting stats dipped a bit in those seasons. A fractured hand kept him out for two months of the 2017-18 season.
Since then, Vucevic has come back stronger than ever. He has made two All-Star teams and added the three-pointer to his arsenal. In the 2020-21 season through 37 games, he's having his career-best offensive season -- 24.6 / 11.7 / 3.7 and 40.8% from the arc.
