Alshon Jeffery 2014 (1 Viewer)

79 catches, 1200 yrds rec, 10 TDs
Anything less than that and there will be a lot of Cutler hate around here IMO
I kinda think that proj was being generous. Cutler loves throwing to Marshall more but you also factor in Forte and Bennett, even Holmes now. I'd be ecstatic if he put up those numbers.
You'd be ecstatic if he put up a couple hundred yards less in his third year in the identical situation? Some guys just cannot adjust and get over their Cutler hate.

No Cutler hate at all. It's just what I see.

Not sure it is that (he did fine with both Cutler and McCown)...would you expect him to improve upon his 89-1421-7 numbers? I can maybe see the TDs, but barring injury from Forte, Marshall and Bennett, I can't see an increase in stats, so a slight dip would not surprise at all.

I drafted him over Jordy Nelson which I kind of regret now. But last year's numbers in his second year was too much hype to pass up.

Something about Alshon gives me a Marcus Robinson vibe. And as I looked up Robinson to refresh my memory I remembered that he also went to South Carolina.

For those who don't know Robinson he was a Bears WR that had an absolute monster of a season in 1999, my second year playing this game. The next season I was super high on him and he never really did jack the rest of his career. I think injuries were a part of it but things really went south on him after emerging in 99.

I have no basis for the comparison other than a gut feeling but something just told me to stay away this year.

My gut feeling aside I would expect a little regression in yards based on Cutler's rapport with Marshall and defenses having a full off season to gameplan for him but he should still be a very strong WR2 play with WR1 upside.

dang man I played ffootball in 99 and totally forgot about this guy Robinson. He did have a 90-1400-10 season and then played like 7 or so seasons and didn't ever do diddly... interesting.

To be fair, in 99 you could still play defense. WRs can just skip down the field at this point, maybe throw a cute little pirouette in as well, you mess up the tiara on their head and you get a flag.

Robinson had a good year in 2000, but missed 5 games due to injury. Then he tore his ACL and LCL in 2001 and was never the same.

Robinson waa never a good WR. But he was great at jump balls and Jim miller threw him a lot of jump balls in 99. Defenses caught on and that waa the end of MRob.

I predict Alshon will have a better year than Brandon.
Interesting. IMO -

Brandon ~100 catches +/- 10

Alshon ~75 catches +/- 10

Fill in the gaps from there. I'd say it's possible, not probable. Cutler's love for BMarsh was a driver in my thought process for these two this year.
