This means that about 15 years ago I quit going to the mall to Christmas shop. Amazon will always be in my good graces simply because of this reason.Amazon is having it's 20th birthday?? Does that blow anyone else's mind?

Someone set up a thread for this so I don't forget about it.Just came across this and watched the pilot but there are no other episodes. Any ideas on when they will be added?Mad Dogs, Man in the High Castle and the New Yorker Presents got picked up and Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle got second seasons. (Not including kids shows)When will the shows from the pilot season be picked up?MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE' PREVIEW The first two episodes of Amazon's upcoming series "The Man in the High Castle" will stream Friday, July 10 along with the show's cast and crew panel at San Diego Comic-Con. (The pilot of Philip K. ****'s alternate history is already online from Amazon.) Watch Friday, July 10 at ew.com/comic-con

That is a good change, finally. I've been trying to convince my wife to switch our Prime account over to my name so I could make use of the lending library (she does not use that) for years now, but I never know when the Prime is up for renewal to remind her of that when it is timely. Glad I can finally use that feature.Wait that article said adults get prime video and lending library now...
I interpreted that as they wouldn't cancel it mid-year, but once renewal time comes up, you can't renew 4 person sharing."Thankfully it doesn't seem to be retroactive, so if you leave your account settings unchanged, you shouldn't lose whatever sharing setup you've got in place now."
Wonder how accurate that is.
Yeah, I've actually gotten free same-day delivery on a Sunday before. So I go on Amazon around 11AM today, order a couple frisbees and a toilet flapper valve thing, and they offer free same-day shipping. I'll be damned. My stuff is in Chattanooga and scheduled to arrive by 9PM. :mindblown:

I feel like I saved so much over the course of college using Amazon marketplace and renting used.Thought I'd share something we are trying as my daughter goes back to college this fall. She wanted to buy a futon and carpet for her dorm room. I was about the buy them and have them sent to home, but then thought, why in the hell would I have them shipped here when I can have them sent there. So, she found the items she liked that are Prime eligible and we'll order them 2 days before move in. I called an confirmed that they will be there to accept them if for some reason they get there in a day (and if they are delayed, poor kid, she has to assemble a futon herself or more likely make her boyfriend do it). Additionally, we are taking very little food and will send her stuff through Amazon Pantry. One more aside, Amazon was outstanding for books for her last year. I'd bet we saved 35% or so versus the bookstore(s) on campus.
Amazon, Bookbyte, Valorebooks and Chegg are my main go to's for my daughters books. Shop/compare. Found 2 of her books at the local library, free is good. Got one used last semester off Amazon that was a really good deal and sold it for a profit after the semester ended. Toughest part is these instructors waiting until the last minute to list required books. Makes it tough to order online even with Prime sometimes. One just listed books today, guess when the semester started...I feel like I saved so much over the course of college using Amazon marketplace and renting used.Thought I'd share something we are trying as my daughter goes back to college this fall. I still use Amazon for 3 out of 4 law books each quarter.

Totally agree, especially in undergrad. The number of times freshman/soph years a professor said "we won't really use the textbook so no need to get it" finally taught me that lesson.2Young2BBald said:3C said:Amazon, Bookbyte, Valorebooks and Chegg are my main go to's for my daughters books. I still use Amazon for 3 out of 4 law books each quarter.thanks for sharing these addition book options. And yeah, we'll be sprinting to get the books. We learned the hard way her first semester that its actually better to wait until after the first day of class, if possible, to order some books.
I've never had a problem on Amazon Marketplace. Most times its much smoother than all the ebay bs for me. I think you just got unlucky.OK, so I just sold my first item on Amazon Marketplace. Bought shipping via Amazon, piece of cake. Sold a WDTV Live, as I'm going all Amazon Fire TV's at this point. A week goes by since delivery confirmed, buyer is now irate. Saying that after 60-90 minutes of playback (which he stated it powers up and plays video), that the device stalls/requires a re-start. I've sold plenty of items on eBay in the past, and have never had bad feedback (I at least try to do good karma things at all times with selling stuff in this manner on the internet). I tested the WDTV live with a TV show from my HTPC setup before shipping and it was fine, so I sent it out.
What's the play here? I'm very confident the device was in fine working order when I shipped, and this is even acknowledged in one of the emails, which must be sent via your Amazon Marketplace account for Amazon issue tracking. Don't want to be an #####, but also don't want to get taken by a potential looney tune on the internet. I want to sell more stuff on Amazon with how easy it was, so I'm perplexed.
TIA for anyone who's sold stuff via the Marketplace before and can provide input.
Thanks, this is where I lean too. I loved how easy it is vs. doing a whole eBay listing, plus the power of how many people shop for stuff on Amazon. I tested this and am an honest person, so I know my device was a go when shipped. The guy went on complete tilt with more emails that just devolved and became downright nasty, so I'm chalking this up to the guy being bat-#)@. If he files a dispute all the messages are there for Amazon to review, including the ones where he clearly states the device worked when delivered, but now "...... Ask him why Amazon Fire TV's are out of stock if you ever get in his ear! Wanted to buy a second recently, all retail out of stock, can only buy refurbished. Not the end of the world, but that slightly irks me, as I perceive Amazon to have inventory management squarely in the wheelhouse.Picked up a Kindle Fire and Fire TV stick in the last month to go with my Amazon Echo and Amazon Prime.
Decided I'm ready to be one of the first to be plugged into the BezosBot when it needs human batteries.

It's ironic for Apple that Amazon is starting to allow download of their content to all devices including Apple devices when Apple tries so hard to keep their content from being put on any other device. Two completely different business models.Prime members in the US, UK, Germany and Austria can now download movies and TV shows to mobile devices even if they're using Apple iPhones and iPads or phones running on Google's Android software, Amazon said Tuesday.

This is a very, very small group of sellers. It's not going to be a big deal at all.The only sellers that have access to the program at the moment are those that have been authorized to tag their products as Prime-eligible even when they ship directly from their own warehouses.
For now, I agree totally. Hopefully this doesn't grow large enough to start to erode the value of Prime, as it seems like they might just be testing this out at this point in time. This is a very, very small group of sellers. Mine automatically downloaded as an update. Guess I had the right apps already installed. Anyway...I don't see an Amazon Video app in the Google Play store. Is the Android version out? I'm searching "Amazon video","Amazon instant video", etc.
Or do I use the regular Amazon App, or download the Fire TV app, or use the instant streaming music app...
This is getting confusing...
