Which ones are you referring to that are non back-lit?I like reading on the Kindles because they're not back-lit (God knows, I stare at enough tech like that anyway). It's just easier for me to read on pw devices. So I'm thinking about finally getting an Kindle for reading. Why would I get a Paperwhite for $99 when the non-HD Fire is $49?
btw, looks like the Fire has been knocked down to $34.99 if you have a prime account.

The Chromecast is a better device for that IMO.Quick question on the Fire Stick thing. I read all the descriptions, about how it offers Hulu, Netflix, etc - I don't need all that - I already stream it through another console. I'm wondering if I can stream anything at all to the stick to play on the TV. For example, a college basketball game that I can watch for free on my lap top - can I stream that to the TV with this Fire Stick even though it's not one of the paid services?I like reading on the Kindles because they're not back-lit (God knows, I stare at enough tech like that anyway). Yeah, that would be great to know. I have the same question for the Chromecast stick as well. Help!If your device can mirror it's screen you can mirror it.I have had mixed results with different appsWith a Chromecast you can stream anything that you have up on your Chrome browser. Not sure about Fire stick.

- How did youtube work - not youtube channel or whatever that preloaded crap is on my tv
- Ever try home videos that were on your laptop? (We have imemories online)

This.Fire TV and install Kodi
Coming from someone that wasted his time with laptop/Chromecast watching sports![]()
FWIW, the Chromecast doesn't stream through your phone/device. The Chromecast just grabs the link from your device and then streams directly from the link.Never used the Fire Stick, but it comes with a remote, which I think is a big advantage over the Chromecast.
Personally, I hate the Chromecast. But all I'd ever tried to use it for was watching Netflix and MLB.tv. For those, I don't want to stream on my phone and cast. That's awful cumbersome (and slow) when there are options to use something with those apps built in (I much prefer Roku), rather than have my phone or laptop tied to watch Netflix on my TV.
The remote is Bluetooth, so you don't need line of sight.$25 stick ordered just bc it's cheap and seems like a cool thing that could be useful in many situations
one question... if the HDMI ports are on back of TV, will the remote still work through/around the TV?
gotcha... yeah, I meant USB and typed HDMI instead, though HDMI would be awesomeThe remote is Bluetooth, so you don't need line of sight.$25 stick ordered just bc it's cheap and seems like a cool thing that could be useful in many situations

You do need either a free USB port on the back of the TV to also plug into fo power or use the extender that plugs into a power outlet.

What does a jailbroken firestick allow you to do? Is it easy to do?I heard that a jailbroken fire stick is $$.
Battery life and kindle readers are easier on the eyes than tablets. So I'm thinking about finally getting an Kindle for reading. Why would I get a Paperwhite for $99 when the non-HD Fire is $49?

Thanks guys. So someone convince me one way or the other on the regular Kindle reader for $50 or the paperwhite for $100.Battery life and kindle readers are easier on the eyes than tablets. So I'm thinking about finally getting an Kindle for reading. Just reading. I am talking about two different readers. The regular and paperwhite. You going to use it for reading books or as a tablet? There's your answer.
The regular Kindle is just a cheap tablet. Like reading off an iPad. That's what I have. The Paperwhite is a superior reading experience. Go with that if you're getting it strictly for reading.Just reading. I am talking about two different readers. The regular and paperwhite. You going to use it for reading books or as a tablet? I'm sure the paperwhite is better, just curious if it is twice as much better.
I don't know if the store card works the same but I have an Amazon visa and I don't get my point until the billing cycle endsI have a dumb question on the Amazon Store Card.
If I use it to make a purchase, is my 5% back immediate? In other words, can I go in as soon as my order is billed, pay off the store card, and still get my 5% back? Or do I have to wait for a statement?
Amazon is doing porn?????had a package delivered Sunday by a girl wearing an Amazon shirt in a white van. Tracking listed the carrier as AMZL_US
